STRANGER
The days went as quickly as an eagle flying in the sky, I was troubled that I was not ready to recite my poem in front of large audience until a stranger looked at me and smiled, I was mesmerized for I thought she was mine. Hey you, the stranger called me out, all the best on your poem she said.
I stood quite for some time and said I did not practice. She asked me why and I failed to answer. She said be honest …as I was about to speak she cut me off and said the truth will always set you free, for you may not know that you have met your love line. She left immediately after talking.
Unfortunately. We had to assemble for assembly and pattern of doing things changed as our Head Teacher, Mr. Kambuku announce the announcements followed by activities. He went on to say we are having special activities today by our poets Moshe and Samcho, ready or not ready I present to you, Samcho with never heard.
I went ahead for the stage, as I was about to recite my poem. I saw the same girl, I starred at her for a long time and then she disappeared, Oh goodness sake I imagine her walking towards me and said tell me how you feel. As she was walking, I started speaking
Never heard
I hear her footsteps coming,
Slowly my heart is beating
Instantly my lips are vibrating
Indeed she makes my heart feel shining
At her feet my eyes are staring
Her silent noise is deafening
She is a stranger that I know
Her lovely dark hair is shining
Like a street vendor, she is cunning
She is not a stranger after all
Thou her eyes seem to be loving
I can’t begin the journey of proposing
If only she was mine, strangely
Am wishing, it is her that am always
About thinking
As I finished reciting my poem, all I hear was a loud applause and my friends were full of joy and happiness. At last, she said I am impressed, she is a stranger that I know; she said I said and she quote. They become a couple exemplar at school during Graduation ceremony definitely Moshe was there and this time he was around and recited a poem that he wrote on his birthday…25 and still going.
