The story unfolds on a stormy night as the heroine, distracted by guilt and regret, loses control of her car, injuring her blind husband, the hero, as he tries to save their three-year-old daughter. The hero’s mind flashes back to his past: an orphan who struggled hard to earn a spot at IIT, where he excelled and secured a high-paying job at a multinational company. It was there that he met the wealthy heroine, and they fell in love and married. However, the heroine's proud demeanor often made the hero feel overlooked.
Years earlier, the heroine’s sister lived with them for college but faced harassment from powerful college seniors. When the hero discovered this, he stood up to the leader—a home minister's son—who used his influence to have the hero detained and tried to harm the heroine’s sister. In the ensuing confrontation, the hero killed the assailants but was splashed by acid, losing his eyesight. The hero concealed the ordeal from his wife, framing it as an accident.
Over time, the heroine, influenced by her family and friends, questions her future with the hero, leading to her decision to seek a divorce—a choice the hero reflects on with mixed feelings, recalling both their love story and his sacrifices.
