In life, there are lots of things that we should consider especially the feelings, dreams, and love of those people who loved us the most.
Hi, I'm Andy, a college student and the one and only child that's why I became a spoiled brat. I can do whatever I want to do. I can have everything I want to have. I can go wherever I want to go until the path that I've been taking off goes to a dark place. I always hang out with my friends. I went home late. I smoked and I became a drunkard. I hugged the bad influence of darkness. I spent most of my life doing bad deeds than to my studies and the worst thing I've done is to have fun with every man I met along the way even if I didn't know him well.
One night in a bar where we were doing our bad deeds, my parents came unexpectedly. My dad grasped me tightly and dragged me outside the bar while he kept scolding me. I took off away his hand from my arm and I started to walk away
"Andy, where did you think you're going?" he asked
"Anywhere as long as I can't see your face" I answered fiercely
"What's wrong with you? Have we done wrong? Where we're lacking? Why are you acting like this?" he asked again which made me more irritable.
"It's none of your business!" I answered angrily. He grasped my hand again and slapped me on my face. I was so shocked and my anger became bigger but unexpectedly, my dad quickly asked for my forgiveness and he said that he didn't mean to do that but his apology was not accepted. He tried to hold me again while he was saying sorry but because of anger, I pushed him to the road without the slightest idea about the out-of-control huge truck of oil coming towards my dad and it bumped him! I saw him fly in the air before he rolled several times on the road. My jaw dropped and my eyes opened widely. Suddenly, I was out of my mind but when I heard my mother's hysteric voice calling out my father's name, somehow I returned to reality. She looked at me with her eyes full of tears begging for my help while she carried my bloody father in her arms.
We rushed to the nearest hospital and after a couple of minutes, the doctor came out and said, "He's in critical condition". After we heard that news, my mother cried so hard, and unexpectedly, my tears fell on my cheeks. She looked at me; I knew she wanted to blame me for what happened but when she saw the tears on my cheeks, she turned back and kept crying. She said nothing! I can't explain my feelings. I'd felt guilt from within. In just one blink of an eye, my father's condition was critical and it's all because of me! How damn I am! I'm so selfish! Unkind! Worthless daughter! God, what I've done?
Because of the guilt, shame, and conscience that I felt at that moment, I ran as fast as I could until I reached the bridge. I screamed! I cried so loud! I blamed myself for what happened. I felt that the world was so small and a person like me had no more space to live in anymore. I was so desperate at that moment to end the craziness that I had started that's why I jumped to the deep blue sea. I sunk little by little. The light became darker until I released my last breath!
When I woke up, I saw white surroundings. Am I in heaven? But wait! How can I enter in the heaven that I'm a bad daughter? A disobedient daughter? Then I turned my head to my right side and I saw my mother's face full of vexed
"Why did you do that?" she asked while she was crying and I started sobbing. Out of nowhere, the words that I don't know how to spell, the words that I don't know how to speak it out, suddenly came out from my lips. The words "I'M SO SORRY". My mother hugged me and said, "No matter what, we'll always love you".
Afterward, we start all over again. My mom as well as my dad after he recovered, they gave me a second chance to correct all the mistakes that I've made. I'm so blissful for having them as my parents and all I can say is.... if your parents can give you all you need, be thankful! Cherish them, respect them because there are a lot of people as old as you who are suffering from any burden, there are some who tried their best to stand up on their own feet because their parents can't support them, can't provide all their needs.
Don't waste all the sweat of your parents especially if that sweat is meant for your good future. Remember, everyone deserves a second chance but not everyone has an opportunity to get what we call "chances".
