It was time for my first date. I giggled as I sat before my vanity mirror wearing my makeup. Today, I decided to pick a red dress which to me represented my new found love.
My heart tickled in excitement as I applied my pepper red lipstick and smacked my lips exhibiting my shiny white set of thirty two permanent teeth. I needed to be quick so as not to keep my date waiting.
I picked my black purse as well and walked out feeling like a new bride going to meet her groom. I had ordered an uber who waited patiently for me. In no time I got to my destination and stepped in.
My heart swelled with so much love as our eyes met. He smiled at me as I walked towards him. our fingers met filling me with butterflies which flew happily in my stomach.
He drew out the seat and guided me to it.
“You are beautiful.” I shyly looked down at my red shoes smiling at the same time.
“Are your parents aware about you meeting up with me?” my smile vanished as I looked up slowly.
“No, they still disapprove of you. What do I really need to do?” I asked my eyes glistening with tears. I loved him so much. He was everything I wanted but they just couldn’t see it. He really loved me for who I was but they wanted who they chose for me.
“Keep telling them about me. Don’t stop singing about my love for you. But you will need to be patient and with time they will come around.” He stood up and held my hands. His eyes glittered. I could feel the intense love burning. A love that I can bask in and not be scarred or burnt. One that will make me better and stronger. A love that made me yearn more for him and at last be with him forever as his bride.
“Remember, nothing can make me love you less. There’s nothing on earth or in heaven that can separate my love for you.” He smiled at me planting a kiss on my forehead feeling me with so much warmness…
Immediately, I stirred awake still feeling traces of His love coursing through my veins making me understand that His love is new every morning.
