Once upon a moonlit night, there was a girl lying awake, questioning her purpose in life. She often asked herself, "What will my future hold? Will I succeed, or will I fail?" But deep inside, she realized something - success and failure were mere illusions in a world that had grown cruel and unfair. Life, after all, was not a race to be won or lost. It was a journey, one that didn't need to be rushed. "Why not focus on the present?" she told herself. "Keep moving forward, no turning back. Just walk, one step at a time, until you reach your destination. When the time is right, God will make it happen."

At just eighteen, she had already learned so much from life. Heartbreaks, betrayals, the pain of losing friends - these were all part of her journey. But in every stumble, she grew. She became stronger, wiser. Life, she realized, was full of obstacles, but beyond the challenges lay a peaceful road, waiting for those who persevered.

Love had been one of her biggest lessons. Back in eighth grade, she met Raynier. He wasn't her first love, but he was her first heartbreak. At the time, she was still a naive, immature girl who didn't fully understand love. When Raynier confessed his feelings, she felt butterflies in her stomach, mistaking them for love. They dated for a while, but things didn't last. One day, she broke up with him, and his response stung more than anything she had ever felt. "I was just waiting for you to say that," he told her, revealing that he had long stopped caring.

The pain of knowing he had been waiting for the relationship to end left a deep scar. Yet, despite the heartbreak, she hadn't learned her lesson. In ninth grade, she repeated her mistake. This time, it was with Lanz, a classmate. He confessed his feelings, even went out of his way to load her phone with 50 pesos of credit - an endearing gesture that made her think he might be the one. They started chatting, and before long, they were together. But her happiness came at a cost. She had a best friend, someone she had been close to since eighth grade, but her focus shifted entirely to Lanz. The friendship faded, and she lost her best friend.

Despite her deep love for Lanz, the relationship ended in betrayal. He left her for a mutual friend, and the heartbreak was more than she could bear. It felt like karma - she had chosen him over her best friend, and in turn, he chose someone else over her. It was a painful realization, and moving on from Lanz proved to be one of the hardest things she had ever faced. In her desperation to heal, she made another mistake - she used another guy to numb the pain, something she deeply regretted later.

Then came Edrian, a man who changed her perspective on love. They met at a family wedding, where sparks flew almost instantly. It was love at first sight. Their connection blossomed over time, but the relationship didn't last. She discovered that Edrian wasn't seeing just her - he had many other women in his life. Despite the heartbreak, she couldn't blame him entirely. She knew his struggles and why he acted the way he did. In a way, she understood him. They ended things without much closure, but she still treasured their memories, believing that if they were meant to be, fate would find a way.

By the time she reached twelfth grade, she had met Jay. Jay was different - kind, sincere, godly, and patient. He continued to pursue her even as they both focused on their studies. But despite Jay's best efforts, she couldn't bring herself to love him in the way he deserved. He was everything she had once prayed for, yet something was missing.

College brought a new twist to her story - a mysterious man who piqued her curiosity. At first, she thought her attraction to him was merely a reflection of the feelings she had once had for Edrian, especially since they shared the same name. But the more she observed him, the more she found herself drawn to him. He was different from anyone she had ever met. He kept to himself, had no close friends, and seemed to carry a hidden pain in his eyes. He was smart, talented, even good at singing, though there was no emotion behind his voice. He was, in every sense, a mystery she wanted to unravel.

But this man had walls around him, and she could sense that he was a master of manipulation, someone who studied people to get what he wanted. He lived by his own rules, and though she was intrigued by him, she knew that getting close to him would only lead to more heartbreak. And so, she resolved to distance herself, no matter how difficult it might be.

In the end, her journey wasn't just about love - it was about growth, resilience, and learning to navigate the complexities of life. There would always be pain, heartbreak, and betrayal, but with each experience, she would continue to grow, becoming stronger with every step she took. Life, after all, wasn't a race - it was a long and winding road, and she was still finding her way.
