I am writing to let you know the current status of story submissions on Short Story Lovers. We receive a lot of submissions, and currently we have more than 1000 stories waiting to be published. First, I would like to apologize for the delay in publishing your stories.
As a small, independent platform, we are currently facing some limitations in terms of resources. Our reader subscription fee can only sustain server costs, website & app maintenance costs, and we are unable to hire more editors to review the stories in a timely manner.
I will be honest here, we have been giving priority to submissions from our paid subscribers. However, we understand that this is not the right solution. The delay in publishing may be frustrating for many of our authors.
We are considering a new option to address the issue. We are thinking of implementing a fee, which will be optional for authors who want their stories reviewed and published within a week. This fee would help us to hire another editor to review the submissions on a priority basis. Before we move forward with this proposal, we would like to hear your thoughts on this.
We would appreciate it if you could consider replying to the following questions:
1. Would you be willing to pay a fee to have your story reviewed and published on priority?
2. If so, what amount do you think would be fair for this service?
