Episode 1..
A Strange Invitation ...
The storm had been falling reliably since dusk, pushing the streets of the city toward smooth, shining ways. I pulled my coat all the more close around me as I hurried up the walkway, my umbrella hardly holding toward the eager downpour. The hello had emerged from the blue, a plated envelope sneaked by my townhouse entrance with no bring address back. Inside, a lone card read:
"You are genuinely welcome to a night of mystery and euphoria. 8 PM. The old estate at the edge of town."
I had faltered before deciding to go. Interest had always been my obliteration, driving me into extra strange conditions than I needed to count. However, something about this hello felt extraordinary - a disposition of interest that I couldn't bear upping to. So I was here, strolling through the deluge, progressing toward a dark goal.
The estate waited ahead, its dull layout illustrated by the glimmering streetlights. It was a remainder of a previous time, its grandiosity obscured at this point constraining. As I moved nearer, the enormous oak entrance squeaked open, and a tall, driving figure cajoled me inside.
"Welcome," he said, his voice significant and reverberating. "You are typical."
I wandered into the faintly lit corridor, the entrance closing behind me with a profound accident. The man drove me through a maze of passages, each more sumptuously planned than the last. Finally, we showed up at an extraordinary get together corridor where a little assembling had gathered, all wearing flawless dress. I felt off-kilter in my deluge doused coat and sensible shoes.
A woman in a red outfit pushed toward me, her eyes sparkling with shrewdness. "You ought to be our last guest," she said, offering me a glass of champagne. "I'm Evelyn. Welcome to our little soire."
I recognized the refreshment, my advantage incited. "What's the occasion?" I asked, glancing around at various guests.
Evelyn smiled secretively. "At last. For now, have an awesome time. The night is just beginning."
