It started when I was so eager to find a suitable work from home set-up because I don’t want to be a burden to my husband. My husband is a devoted family man, I could say that I’m so lucky to have found such a partner in life in these days full of unempathetic man. Even if he earned enough for us, I cannot just watch him carry us all. Do you know the feeling? I just want to help him financially so I keep on looking for a job that makes me stay at home so that I cannot leave my 3 toddlers for work. But you know what makes it more difficult? It is my lack of knowledge in communication skills using English Language. I was born in the Philippines and my mother tongue is not English. I know that 99% of Filipinos are good in speaking in English but unluckily, I am the 1%.
I always fail in thousands of times during my interview. I just don’t know why I always stuttered or have out of words even if I prepared a lot in all of my interviews. I even tried a lot of freelancing jobs because why not? I have a laptop, tablet, phone, 300mbps internet, noise cancelling headset and a work from home table set-up, the only lacking is my confidence in talking using English language.
There are times that I am depressed about my situation, I didn’t tell it to my husband or anyone else because I don’t like him to worry. My husband knows that I am dying to have one of my dream jobs that makes me stay at home even if he keeps on telling me that he got us. I am not blind, I can see how tired he was and having him have a nice long vacation is really one of my goals but he struggles to have those moments because of debts, yep, debts to provide us everything we needs and we want. I love my family, I love my husband and even if he keeps on telling me to relax and just focus on the kids, I cannot. I cannot just watch my husband struggling financially and emotionally because of us.
I never stop hunting online jobs until now even if I will earn a little as long as it is legit. I know someday I will earn a salary that enough for my husband and my kids to have a family vacation and to pay for our debts.
So, I started writing the story of mine for everyone to know that you are not the only person who’s struggling in life and one thing I can advise is to TRUST GOD AND NEVER GIVE UP.
