A girl narrates a series of violent events where they are betrayed and attacked by someone they trusted. In self-defense, she fights back and ultimately ends up killing their assailant. The police arrive and arrest her, leading to her placement in a psychiatric hospital where she manipulates her way to early release. Upon release, she seeks revenge on those who wronged her, culminating in a spree of killings including the original assailant. The protagonist shows no remorse and revels in the chaos she creates, even setting a house on fire. She is eventually caught again and returned to the psychiatric hospital, where she feels her sanity slipping away and eventually commiting suicide by jumping out of a window. The story ends with the implication that the protagonist's evil nature may even frighten the devil. The narrative is filled with themes of revenge, manipulation, violence, and a descent into madness.
