In India, girls from their very birth are taken for a liability upon their parents; thus the mothers of the nation are looked down in their own homes. Lavanya represents such afflicted Indian girlhood. She is the daughter of Engineer Narayanamoorthy who has orthodox views about the tradition. Her mother was a dedicated teacher in the school.
She was the daughter of a very well off family. They had lived a wonderful life. Lavanya was a simple girl wearing normal dress and everyone found her innocent. she was very sincere and serious in her studies . Always taking down notes in class, trying to follow what the teachers were saying. As she was the topper of the school. Most of the teachers liked her. Her down to earth attitude, her simple nature was to everyone's liking.
Chapter 1
When you truly love someone, it may be hard to express those emotions through words. In fact, real love may make you feel weak in the knees and unable to speak.
Lavanya was quite busy with her SSC exam. After her exams she was planning for a trip to Kerala. Every year during vacation they go to Chennai there they meet their relatives and spend time with them. Their family have trust and help the people who are in need. As usual Lavanya's dad planned for Chennai to visit their relatives as well as there was a function (Grahapravesham) arranged for everyone. she was upset about the Chennai plan. she wanted to go kerala and enjoy her vacations with her family but dad was having different plan.
Since long time her Grandpa was planning for a new house as the count of the family is increasing reached upto 52 so they need some space. Grandpa constructed new house for everyone. Lavanya belong to Brahmin community so they believe in vedas and rituals. So Grahapravesham was arranged for the well being of the family. So it was very important to go there and attend the function. Finally all went to Chennai as plan was implemented according to dad's wish.
During this function vedic priests are called for chanting
Slokas and mantras from the Four Vedas – Rig veda, Yajur veda, Sama veda and Atharva veda. The function was arranged for 5 days as they worship Adi Shankaracharya so the priests and gurukul boys were asked to stay there itself. Daily morning the priests and the students from gurukul need to chant slokas and mantras. This was conducted every year from the generation to generation and for the well being of the family as well as to get the blessings from the Adi Shankara.
Now the scene starts from here....
Day 1:
while chanting the vedas the boy was staring Lavanya continuously. All of you, may be wondering who is that boy? and what is his name? The boy was from gurukul and his name is Sreedhar.
Usually while having food the priest and gurukul boys have their food first then others will have.
Day 2:
Lavanya was sitting just opposite to Sreedhar for having her dinner. Sreedhar was so happy to see Lavanya infront of him and was blushing since long time. while Lavanya was eating, the housefly fell inside her glass. There was many insects flying near light so she was so scared of it. Whereas Sreedhar was frightening Lavanya about the insect so that she would talk with him. After falling of fly in the glass Sreedhar started teasing her as housefly. One butterfly was flying from long time Lavanya thought that it would fell in her banana leaf but it fell in Sreedhar's leaf. After that incident Lavanya called him butterfly. When they came outside for washing hands they started blushing on each other. Lavanya's inner heart murmurs poem........
The sight of yours,
made me loved.....
The butterfly and fly,
made us integerated.....
Day 3:
The next day had the same routine, during afternoon simply felt boring, new place.... so Lavanya planned for playing seven stones along with her cousins.While playing Sreedhar and his friend Shiva also joined. They played well and had a lot of fun. Evening usually Lavanya worship Navagraha while coming around the Navagraha Sreedhar also joined and after that he tried to talk but Lavanya felt shy and embarrassed,she ran away.
Day 4:
After finishing the morning chants Sreedhar was free so he taught of seeing match T20 suddenly Lavanya wanted to play hide and seek so she and her cousins started playing whereas Sreedhar don't want to miss the chance so he also joined. This time he has a strong determination to talk with Lavanya. While hiding Lavanya and Sreedhar talked with each other and was continuously staring. After that they didn't have a single word to speak.
Lavanya's one of the cousin named Meera was not so attractive in looking she had a crush on Sreedhar. She tried many times to convey him but he was not interested. Evening Sreedhar was sitting outside with the breezy air at that time Meera came to talk with him. Sreedhar thought he has a nice chance to collect information about Lavanya. so he had conversation with Meera
Sreedhar: "Can I have Lavanya's number?"
Meera: "She don't have mobile phone."
Sreedhar: "Then get me her mom's number."
Meera: "Why you are asking her number?"
Sreedhar: "Because I want to speak with her."
Meera: "I will give you but you have to give your number."
Sreedhar: "First give me Lavanya's number then I will give you my number."
Meera wrote Lavanya's mom number in the paper.
Sreedhar: "I have started loving Lavanya so I need number to speak about this".
After hearing this Meera was in a great anger so she tears the paper into pieces. Whereas Sreedhar collect all pieces and put in his pocket safely.
Day 5:
This was the last day of the function. Lavanya and her cousin Meera were sitting under Banyan tree and playing Damsharas. Sreedhar was came inbetween and join them. He tells let's play something else so Meera ask riddle
Meera: I’m tall when I’m young, and I’m short when I’m old. What am I?
Sreedhar: Don't know
Lavanya: Don't know
Meera: A candle
Suddenly Lavanya ask Sreedhar to pull his tongue and say yellow and blue. what does it means?
He says but he didn't understood.
In the evening Sreedhar ask Lavanya for address but she refuses to give also he asks number then she tell that she don't use mobile phones.
At 7 pm Sreedhar and his friends leaves from there while leaving he comes to Lavanya and tell that he is going to leave. Lavanya feels bad that he is leaving. Sreedhar also don't know whether they would meet again so he was also worried about leaving.
After Sreedhar left the Lavanya felt that something is breaking her heart don't know what to say....felt disturbed.
She murmurs a poem about him.
Never want to loose you,
it was first and last....
Creaping heart for you,
keeping hopes for you...
Whole night Lavanya thought about Sreedhar. she didn't even sleep whereas her cousin Meera and Madhu were talking about Sreedhar that he is loving Lavanya in a low voice after that they thought that Lavanya would get up so they slept.
Sreedhar was missing Lavanya alot so he joined those torn papers and daily tried different numbers but he connected with wrong numbers. Still he was trying suddenly one day he dialled and got connected to Lavanya's mother.
Phone conversation.........
Mom: Hello
Sreedhar: Can I speak with Lavanya?
Mom: Who are you?
Sreedhar: Don't you remember I am Sreedhar from Chennai.
Mom: Yes right..... wait, I will hand over the phone to Lavanya.
Sreedhar: Hello Lavanya how are you?
Lavanya: Hello !
Sreedhar : Do you remember me?
Lavanya : Offcourse why not?
(She was so happy to hear his voice and didn't expect for his call. She felt that it was all like a dream.)
“Yesterday is today's memory, tomorrow is today's dream.”
Sreedhar : You asked me one Riddle nah I found the answer.
Lavanya: Is it?
Sreedhar: Yaa but will tell you later.
(he was planning to tell during her birthday)
After 3 day Lavanya's mom again got a call from Sreedhar
Sreedhar: Hello aunty! I have called to wish Lavanya for her birthday.
Lavanya's mom: Hello! ok
Lavanya: Hello
Sreedhar: Hello..... Happy Birthday dear
Lavanya: Thanks !
Sreedhar: One blast surprise for you on your birthday from my side....
Lavanya: Is it?
Sreedhar: I Love you is the answer for that riddle .I knew the answer before itself but I wanted to tell it on your birthday.
Lavanya:Yes you are right.
(Butterfly was jumping in her heart........ she couldn't reply for Sreedhar because her mother was near by her so she cut the call.)
The next day Sreedhar messaged Lavanya.
Sreedhar: I love you.
Meanwhile Lavanya's mom opened the message and asked Lavanya about it......
Lavanya conveyed her mother that she don't know about it and also agreed that she is not having such a feeling about him....
Lavanya was so scared about the situation don't know what will happen....
After some hours Sreedhar called.......
Lavanya's mom picked up the call and said hereafter don't call and Lavanya is not interested to talk with you and she cut the call. But Sreedhar was continuously calling whereas Lavanya's mom was not picking the call. Again and again he was calling Lavanya's dad was frustrated so he shouted him not to call otherwise will inform police.
Sreedhar was calling from the phone booth as he wasn't not having phone so Lavanya couldn't contact Sreedhar. Also she was scared, can't even convey her feelings to Sreedhar.
Sreedhar stopped calling but he was in a deep hurt. Whereas Lavanya was keeping hope that he will call one or the other day. Remembering him, years ran away like anything. Still Lavanya was loving him deeply and she cann't forget him. She expressed her feelings through poem.

but future wasn't with me....
