"Mom, I'm running late. Can you help me to get ready."Riya was busy to get ready for her friend's wedding ceremony. She was going to see her years after their graduation. She was so excited to see her friend Zoya in a wedding dress.
Riya and Zoya were close friends since childhood and they couldn't meet up for a very long time since they got jobs in two different cities. She remembered how they were dreaming about their wedding days and planning how they would dance in each other's weddings.
Finally Riya was able to be at the venue on time. She met some other friends too from their school and they were so happy to see each other after such a long time. After some time the bride and the groom arrived. Zoya was wearing a pearl white gown which was up to her ankles and a long veil which was kissing the floor , following behind her. The couple looked so lovely together.
Amidst all the guests in the ceremony, she saw a familiar face. It was Neel. They had a long-term relationship and due to some family issues they couldn't end up marrying. Both Riya and Neel were close friends of Zoya. So she knew that Zoya would invite him as well.
All those memories with Neel suddenly flooded into her head. Neel caught her gazing at him from a distance. The same passion, the same love in her eyes. Nothing had changed. He slowly walked towards Riya.
"Hey, after a long time...." he broke the awkward silence between them. Riya smiled and said nothing.
" You look beautiful as always" he continued. Riya couldn't stop blushing. It was always like that whenever Neel complimented her. She looked away to hide her face but Neel already noticed it.
"You too look handsome " she replied with a smile.
They slowly started to have a conversation and then they were talking about their good old days and the times they spent together. They felt like they were going back to those days and they cherished all those memories.
"So are you still single? "
"I don't think I am" she gave a strange answer.
"So who is the lucky guy" Neel asked hiding his tears. He always wanted the best for her. He really wanted to see her get settled with a good man and lead a happy married life. It was the love he had for her.
"I only loved one person in my whole life and it was you and it will always be you."
"But Riya you know that we can't marry right?"
"Love doesn't always end up with marriage Neel. Only the extremely lucky ones will end up so. But you know what... I never regret loving you. I'm proud that I love a good person. May be we are not that lucky enough to get ended up marrying."
"But what about your parents ? They must be worried. Don't they ask you to marry soon ?"
"Yes they do. And they have brought me so many proposals. I don't say anything to stop them for doing so because as my parents they have a right to do so. But at the end it's me who has the right to decide whether to marry someone or not right ?"
" It's true. But I don't want you to be like this forever. I want you to have a beautiful family."
"Neel I can't marry someone else, knowing that my heart needs someone else. I will not be at peace if I do that. I will regret and suffer all my life. It's better for me to stay like this with your love rather than marrying just for the sake of it."
"So what about you Neel? Have you found someone ?"
"I still love you and I always will. I didn't even think of marriage and I don't think I will meet a better girl than you ever..." He hugged her so tightly and tears were rolling from the eyes of both of them.
"May be if we are lucky enough one day our parents will allow us to marry." Neel whispered to her ears. He saw Riya's eyes glittering with a ray of hope when he said that. " After all we are still young right ? So we have enough time.." he said it making a naughty face with cheeky smile just to see her cute blushing face once more...
They knew that no matter what their love remained the same for each other. The destiny was not in their favor. They realized one thing... They have loved truly and unconditionally to an extent that they couldn't unlove each other.
A lovely heart meeting another one like that is not a coincident. Their souls connect with each other and no matter what they are there for each other.
