New York City never truly slept.

Its streets were alive with flashing lights, distant sirens, and secrets hidden behind every corner. Some people saw opportunity in the city. Others saw danger.

For Victoria Moretti, New York was her kingdom.

Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Moretti estate overlooking Manhattan, she watched the city in silence. Dressed in a tailored black suit, she looked untouchable. Powerful.

Her fingers tightened around the crystal glass in her hand as memories forced their way back.
