Irtaza and the Cruel War

It's a blend of short story and poetry unlike a normal short story which is mostly expressed without any rhythm. It explains the aftermath of the missiles launched by the India on its neighbor Pakistan. It further adds how the depth of having a strong army results in the brutal enemies being compelled for the ceasefire. Hamid Ali who was himself under the pressure of the war due to his family being stranded at the border and his stay in the very center of Pakistan where India had launched several missiles. This is the reason why he has also mentioned the emotional aspect of Irtaza by bringing his family forward in the poem.

Irtaza and the Cruel War

By Hamid Ali

A war declared without an evidence

In a century which's advance

Bigger claims and no rank

brought a mysterious dank

Lurking attacks without grit

caused a serious risk

Someone said very earlier

power makes you critter

Innocents got reckless attacks

many passed but no takes

Distress and no sign of mitigation

brutalities and amalgamation

For a family with a star lost

who was future with a hope

Flights with courage of martyrdom

foes with ceasefire to come

No consideration of humanness

with the notion of otherness

Never to bring a crack again

behold an evidence of a strain

A lesson to set the encephalon

to be learned by the solon

No more coming to this theatre of war

moved the Edan to an Eden-far
