The foundation of the Hinduja group was laid by the philanthropist Mr Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja. He was a self-made young and talented entrepreneur from the fabled town of Shikarpur. Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja (P. D. Hinduja) was a visionary, entrepreneur, and devoted philanthropist who made his worldwide debut in 1919 with the first office outside India in Iran. Trade and merchant banking were the company's two main cornerstones. Up until 1979, the Group's main office was still in Iran. After that, it relocated to Europe.
Pursuing the inspiration of the former Chairman Srichand and the current Chairman Gopichand, with the great help of his brothers Prakash and Ashok Hinduja, the operation of the Hinduja Group went beyond continents. Srichand P Hinduja (Ex-Chairman - Hinduja Group)
Srichand P Hinduja affectionately known as SP Hinduja was the ex-chairman of Hinduja Group and the eldest son of P.D. Hinduja. Post completing his education in 1952 SP Hinduja joined the family business.
Together with his brothers, Gopichand, Prakash, and Ashok Hinduja, SP developed and planned the Hinduja Group's diversification and growth under his direction and vision. SP Hinduja was known as one of the leading Non-Resident Indian (NRI) businessmen during his era.
He was the driving force behind the establishment of IndusInd Bank, the country's first new-generation private bank, thanks to the NRI community's cumulative contributions to the country's social and economic advancement.
Gopichand P Hinduja (Chairman - Hinduja Group)
Gopichand P . Hinduja is well known as “GP” in the business world. He is the chairman of Hinduja Group and Hinduja Automotive Ltd., UK.
Moreover, GP plays a key role in the Group’s expansion in the infrastructure and power sectors in India.
GP finished his graduation in the year 1959 from the Jai Hind College in Bombay. He was honored by the University of Westminster with a doctorate in law, and by Richmond College London with a doctorate in economics. GP started his corporate journey in the family business in 1959 and worked in Mumbai.
Prakash P Hinduja (Chairman - Hinduja Group Europe)
The Hinduja Group Europe is headed by Prakash P. Hinduja, who is also known as PP, among his friends and his business group. He has been living in Monaco for the past five years now, and he moved there in 2008.
Prakash started working at the family business in Tehran, Iran immediately after his university education. After that, he moved to Geneva Switzerland where he was responsible for the Group’s operation in Europe. He then shifted base to Monaco in 2008.
With the help of the third generation, PP and his three brothers have been leading the Group's diverse international expansion.
Ashok P. Hinduja (Chairman, Hinduja Group of Companies India)
Ashok P. Hinduja is the youngest of three sons of P. D. Hinduja, the head of one of the world’s largest international organizations, the Hinduja Group & Hinduja Foundation. AP was appointed a manager of the growing family’s business in India at a very early age.
Together with the third generation, AP and his three brothers Srichand Hinduja (SP), Gopichand Hinduja (GP), and Prakash Hinduja (PP) have been substantially shaping the global management of one of India’s largest private multinationals.
Besides, AP is a chairman of many other socio-cultural trusts and also supervises the charitable activities of the Hinduja Foundation which is mainly related to health care, education, and water resources.
