Early that Saturday morning, Dustin threw on his best suit and stepped outside, slipping a lucky coin into his pocket. Like every Saturday, he decided to walk all the way to his favorite spot outside the city. The autumn air was neither warm nor cold — just right.
Two hours later, he reached a chain of rolling hills. He sat on a flat rock to rest. The view was charming; even without much height, the setting sun and scattered clouds painted the sky like a work of art.
An hour passed. Dustin yawned and rubbed his eyes. Then he noticed him — a man sitting on a rock on the opposite hill… a man who looked exactly like him. Same clothes, same build. Blinking hard, he looked again. The stranger was dressed all in black, like a shadow, mimicking every move Dustin made — even pulling a coin from his pocket.
A chill ran through Dustin. Maybe it was some kind of strange prank. He started toward the figure, but no matter how far he walked, the distance between them never closed. As night began to fall, tired and confused, Dustin headed back to the city. Turning once more, he saw the figure still standing in the exact same spot.
The next Saturday, burdened with thoughts and debts, he returned, determined to uncover the mystery. But when he reached the hilltop, there was no one — just open land and stone. With a sigh, he started back.
On the way, the sunset and clouds reminded him of a sweet memory from a trip east. He glanced back at the hill one last time — and there, far away, was the black‑clad stranger, waving at him. Feeling the cool breeze, Dustin flicked his coin high into the air, smiled, and walked on.
