**Introduction**
Many aspire to titles such as Prophet, Apostle, General Overseer, or Bishop, often without a full understanding of the heavy responsibilities that accompany such anointings. If God were to unveil the trials and tribulations tied to these roles, many might hesitate to pursue such a calling. The path to becoming a vessel for God's mighty work is laden with challenges—tribulations, persecutions, spiritual warfare, and the rejection from those around us. Scripture is replete with examples of disciples who endured suffering and persecution to embody the image of Jesus Christ. If the world harbored animosity toward Jesus, and His Spirit dwells within us, it follows that we too will encounter similar animosities in our faith journey.
In this book series, I will recount my personal experiences with Jesus Christ—from my transformation into a born-again believer to my present-day walk. My journey has been marked by God's unwavering faithfulness, even amid countless rejections and trials that have, at times, left me feeling like an outcast among friends, family, and others. This narrative is one of grace, perseverance, and the profound impact of faith.
---
**Chapter 1: The Beginning of My Journey**
My spiritual journey commenced during my university years in the United Kingdom, where I found myself deeply engrossed in astrology. Consulting star signs and horoscopes became a daily ritual, an integral part of my existence. Raised in a Catholic household, I was unaware that such practices could be detrimental to my spiritual well-being. Astrology permeated every aspect of life—newspapers, magazines, television shows, and online platforms. The allure of personalized horoscopes and the easy access to psychics nearly lured me further down that path.
My disinterest in church and prayer only compounded my spiritual ignorance. I hadn’t attended Mass in years, and my prayer life was virtually nonexistent. The last time I genuinely prayed from the depths of my heart was before I turned thirteen. Unbeknownst to me, however, the seeds of faith were being sown in my life.
---
**Chapter 2: A Seed of Faith**
I vividly recall observing my aunt, a devoted Pentecostal Christian, who would rise each night at midnight to pray. Her unwavering devotion sparked a curiosity within me, prompting me to ask if I could join her in prayer. She graciously agreed, waking me each night for our midnight sessions. For a brief period, I joined her faithfully, praying in English. Then came a night that would alter the course of my life.
That night, fatigue overwhelmed me, and I struggled to respond when she awakened me. Yet, something extraordinary occurred. Despite being half-asleep, I joined her in prayer, speaking in tongues—a language I had no prior knowledge of. My aunt was astonished, as I prayed fluently in this heavenly language. When she finally woke me, I could hardly comprehend what had transpired. Fear gripped me, and I withdrew from our midnight prayers, uncertain of what had occurred and frightened by the unknown.
Yet, even in my retreat, God did not forsake me. He patiently awaited my return, knowing that the seed of faith had already been planted in my heart.
---
**Chapter 3: The World’s Allure**
As the years passed and I entered university, I became consumed with typical youthful pursuits—partying, dating, and seeking approval from friends. I paid little heed to my spiritual life, opting instead to engage in practices that, in hindsight, I recognized as spiritually harmful, such as purchasing good luck charms and participating in yoga. Oblivious to the spiritual dangers that awaited me, I was living in a haze.
My misguided pursuits manifested as sleep paralysis—horrific episodes where I would awaken unable to move or speak, fully aware of my surroundings yet trapped in my own body. It felt like a waking nightmare. Straining to call for help, my voice was silenced by an unseen force. In those terrifying moments, I sensed a flicker within me urging me to cry out, “The Blood of Jesus Christ!” Even in my silence, I felt compelled to invoke His name.
---
**Chapter 4: The Power of the Blood**
Each time paralysis struck, I instinctively called upon the Blood of Jesus Christ from deep within. With each invocation, the oppressive force's grip loosened until I was finally released. I would sit up in bed, breathless yet victorious, startling my sibling who slept nearby. It was a paradox; despite years of neglecting my faith, I instinctively knew to call upon Jesus in distress.
These experiences laid bare the truth that God had been nurturing my spirit since childhood, waiting for me to seek Him. This realization deepened my understanding of the significance of training children in the ways of the Lord, for it could lead them back to Him later in life.
---
**Chapter 5: Turning Point**
The relentless cycle of sleep paralysis and my cries for help marked a turning point in my life. I began seeking answers, delving into Scripture and the teachings of Jesus. I learned about the significance of the Holy Spirit, the power of prayer, and the importance of faith in overcoming spiritual battles.
As I explored my faith, I discovered that genuine liberation comes not from charms or astrology but from a relationship with Jesus Christ. I began to grasp the depth of His love and grace, recognizing that He had never left my side, even in my darkest moments. I felt compelled to share my story, to inspire others who might be wandering in the darkness I once inhabited.
---
**Chapter 6: Embracing the Call**
Over time, I fully embraced my identity as a child of God. The rejection and opposition I faced from friends and family transformed into sources of strength rather than despair. I realized that my journey with Jesus was not merely about personal salvation but about becoming a beacon of hope for others.
I engaged in community service, sharing my testimony and the transformative power of faith with those around me. Each encounter became an opportunity to illuminate the struggles many face and the hope found in Jesus Christ.
---
**Chapter 7: The Cost of Discipleship**
As my journey continued, I became acutely aware of the cost of discipleship. The titles of Prophet, Apostle, or Bishop carried a heavy burden of responsibility. I recognized that with the anointing came tribulations and spiritual warfare. However, these challenges were part of a greater purpose—a divine calling to impact the lives of others.
I was reminded of the disciples who endured persecution for the Gospel's sake. Their unwavering faith in adversity inspired me to remain steadfast in my journey, even when faced with rejection and ridicule.
---
**Chapter 8: Faith in Action**
Living out my faith became my mission. I aspired to be a vessel of God’s love and grace in a world often shrouded in darkness. Each day presented new opportunities to share the Good News—whether through conversations, community outreach, or personal connections. My past struggles equipped me with a unique perspective, allowing me to empathize with those searching for answers.
As I continued growing in faith, I found strength in prayer and the Word of God. I surrounded myself with fellow believers who encouraged and uplifted me, creating a supportive community that nurtured my spiritual growth.
---
**Chapter 9: The Ongoing Journey**
My journey with Jesus Christ is ongoing, marked by both challenges and triumphs. Each day brings new lessons and opportunities for growth. I am continually reminded of God’s faithfulness, grace, and the transformative power of His love.
I strive to remain humble, recognizing that my experiences, while significant, are part of a larger story—a narrative of redemption and grace available to all who seek Him. My desire is to encourage others to embark on their faith journeys, embrace their divine calling, and trust in His plan, even amid trials.
---
**Chapter 10: The Dark Presence**
One night, while deep in sleep, I began hearing what sounded like ruffles or feathers next to my bed, as if someone was searching through documents noisily. Before opening my eyes, I mustered all my strength (being already paralyzed) to weakly ask, "Who is there?" The entity must have been surprised that I could still speak, for suddenly, I felt something sit on my chest, close my mouth, and paralyze me completely. I couldn't move, open my eyes, or utter a single word.
Once again, saying the Blood of Jesus Christ from deep within led to my eventual release and the entity's flight. When I opened my eyes, everything seemed normal, indicating that the ruffling sounds were not from papers but from a demonic creature.
The incident was terrifying. The creature invaded my personal space, seeking to silence me and perhaps even possess me. Yet, amidst such terror, I found strength in the name of Jesus. His blood, I learned, is a powerful weapon against darkness. By invoking His name, I resisted the creature's assault and ultimately drove it away.
This experience served as a reminder of the spiritual battle raging around me—a battle I was not alone in fighting. I was determined to stand firm, knowing that with God's help, I could overcome any obstacle or adversary. All these began simply due to my involvement with horoscopes and astrology.
---
**Chapter 11: There is Power in the Blood of Jesus Christ**
Another strange occurrence was when I dreamt that I saw myself in my residence as it truly was. In the dream, I was sleeping and awakened by the devil himself standing next to me. Even with my eyes closed, I knew it was him. Suddenly, I began yelling the name of Jesus from within me, for once again, I was paralyzed. The devil detests the name of Jesus Christ; as soon as I uttered that name internally, he sped off in rage, growling and extinguishing the light bulbs in the dream.
After he left, I was freed from paralysis and awoke.
---
**Chapter 12: The Final Straw**
These liberating experiences through the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ continued for a time, even before I was baptized in a Pentecostal church. However, I did not take drastic measures until I faced a near-death experience.
On a peculiar night, while sleeping with my back to the ceiling, I felt a hand reach into my back, attempting to extract my soul or spirit. I experienced excruciating pain and felt my body being torn apart from my spirit.
The intensity of that experience was overwhelming. After being liberated by the Blood of Jesus Christ, I knelt and prayed a short prayer to the Jesus who had been saving me—the One whom all evil powers and beings feared. I poured out my heart to Him, seeking understanding for my circumstances and crying out for help.
---
**Chapter 13: The Call**
Afterward, I returned to sleep. This time, I dreamed of a group of people, including myself, gathered in a circle beneath the stars. As I observed, each person joined hands with the next, and each time they did, I noticed electricity coursing through their hands from the heavens.
When it was my turn, just before joining the person on my left, I suddenly heard the thunderous voice of God emanating from a high mountain unseen until He spoke. He declared, “Amaka, come out of that; it is witchcraft and has nothing to do with Me. Come to Me.” Without hesitation, I left that crowd, running swiftly to the high mountain, climbing without pause until I reached the summit. A man accompanied me, and as we stood at the top, there was Jesus, clothed in a pure white, rabbi-like garment, His arms stretched out to embrace us. In an instant, our attire transformed to match His.
---
**Chapter 14: Seeking Jesus Christ**
I awoke from that revelation, overwhelmed with emotion and yearning for Jesus. I prayed, asking Him to guide me to baptism and further knowledge of Him. In my search, I stumbled upon a Pentecostal church called "Jesus Army," where I was baptized.
Dear brethren in Christ, baptism and a commitment to forsake all new-age practices, including astrology and yoga, are keys to deliverance from sleep paralysis. After my baptism, the frequency of my sleep paralysis diminished. Even when I encountered issues years later due to living next to an occult neighbor who tried to extract me from my body, I awakened instantly, filled with anointing, unable to stop praying in tongues. I then heard my occultic neighbor upstairs flee and fall to the ground.
If you experience sleep paralysis, I urge you to repent, give your life to Jesus Christ, embrace the Holy Spirit, and commit to never returning to witchcraft. Close the evil doors that have been opened through such activities and pray without ceasing. Even while asleep, your spirit will be prepared for battle against any thief that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy your soul.
Back to the church where I was baptized, the questions I faced were: "Who brought you to Jesus?" "Did anyone preach to you about Jesus?" "How did you find this church?" My answer to all was, "Jesus did it Himself." Keep praying, for God hears and will save anyone, whether directly or through His messengers. I was saved directly by Jesus Christ without any preaching. That is the Power of God in action.

**Chapter 15: The Baptism**
The encounters with demonic entities were harrowing but catalyzed my spiritual growth. I realized that the battle against darkness was not a mere personal struggle; it was a cosmic conflict with eternal stakes.
Before my baptism on February 25th, I practically lived in the church. I spent time with fellow believers, attended Bible studies, Sunday services, and participated in community events. I felt welcomed and loved by my church family.
The night before my baptism, I was invited to stay at the female quarters in church. That night, while chatting before bed, my mentor asked a pivotal question: “What do you want God to do for you on your new birthday?” I casually expressed a desire for sunshine the next day, having endured weeks of gloomy, rainy weather. To everyone’s astonishment, the sun shone brightly the next morning and remained throughout the day. Hallelujah! Isn’t God incredible? He performed such miracles in the Bible and continues to do so if we but ask. We all rejoiced and thanked God for that miracle.
Upon arriving at the church for my baptism, I was nervous but reassured by my sisters that I wasn’t alone in being baptized that day. The event drew a large crowd for the annual gathering of the church branches in the region. As the minister began his message, I could hardly sit still. A gentle breeze caressed me; my hands and legs trembled, my heart raced, and each word he spoke felt as if God was addressing me directly. With each proclamation of God wanting to use me, I felt an inner compulsion to shout, “Yes!” The more I resisted, the stronger the urging from within became until I could no longer contain it. With my eyes closed and my body shaking, I raised my hand—not by my own volition—and yelled out, “Yes!” The congregation erupted in praise.
Finally, the moment of baptism arrived. A pool was set up beside the altar, surrounded by about twelve prophets. I was shocked to see that the youngest among them were no more than thirteen years old. When I asked my mentor about this, she informed me that they were the most powerful prophets in the group. Truly, God uses the humble; from the mouths of babes, He has perfected praise.
As I awaited my turn, I trembled with anticipation, uncertain of what to expect. When it finally was my turn, stepping into the water brought an inexplicable calm. Suddenly, one of the youngest prophets began prophesying about my destiny. Each prophet, in turn, spoke as the Holy Spirit guided them. I couldn’t entirely grasp what was being said, as I was overwhelmed and lost in the Presence of the Holy Ghost.
When they finished prophesying, the pastor asked me to repeat prayers of repentance and acceptance of Jesus
Christ before submerging me in the pool. As I emerged, I felt renewed, like a new creation, glowing with the Light of Jesus and cleansed of my past. The pastor began praying in tongues for me to receive the Holy Spirit. Overwhelmed by divine power, I bowed down, clutching my belly as the urge to speak welled up within me. Each time I opened my mouth, no words emerged, as if I were mute. The pastor discerned a blocking spirit and prayed fervently for its casting out. Once released, I yelled from deep within, as if finally freed from a cage. Unbeknownst to me, a microphone had been placed next to my mouth. As I shouted, the congregation erupted in uncontrollable tongues. Though I had yet to speak in tongues, my shout had ignited a powerful response.
Afterward, as I stepped out of the pool, my sisters came rushing to me, filled with joy. Strangely, little children I had never met ran towards me, wanting to touch and hug me, all the while clapping and laughing. I found it peculiar and asked my mentor why this was happening. She explained that they could see me glowing with an amber-like light. I was astonished; I had never imagined such a thing was possible. When I spoke in tongues into the microphone, many left their activities in church, beginning to speak in tongues uncontrollably. I was shocked and found it hard to believe until I read the testimonies in the church’s newspaper that Sunday.
While reflecting on all I experienced, I felt different. I was still trembling, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. It felt as if rays of light were shining from my head and back, and I sensed oil dripping from my palms and feet.
After that, the pastor helped me step out of the pool. All my sisters came to me all amazed, screaming with joy. I noticed little children I had never met or seen before suddenly running towards me wanting to touch or hug me while clapping and laughing. I thought that was odd. I asked my mentor why that was happening. She said because they can see me glowing with an amber-like light.
This sounded so absurd to me. I thought to myself, if I couldn’t see it, how can anyone else see it? It came to my understanding that not everyone had that special gift of sight. That was my first experience with people who had the gift of sight through the Holy Spirit. I didn’t even think that was possible, but they kept saying they could see me glowing and not only that, my mentor told me that when I opened my mouth and finally spoke in tongues into the microphone, many left what they were doing in the church and suddenly started speaking in tongues uncontrollably. I told her I just yelled not speak in tongues, but she said that what they heard me speak into the microphone was powerful tongues. She went on to say that as soon as they heard me speak in tongues, people started getting healed in the church, even those in wheel chairs got healed and started walking.
While pondering all the things I was told, I couldn’t help but notice that I was feeling different. I was still shaking, full of the power/anointing of the Holy Spirit. There was something else I was feeling that day. I felt like light was shining from my head and my back as well like rays from the sun and wings. It is unexplainable. I also felt like oil was dripping from the palm of my hands and feet.
---
**Chapter 16: Signs and Wonders**
At last, I was born again, renewed—old things had passed away, and all things became new. The joy was immense. There was a great celebration in the church and in heaven that day because this sinner had been saved.
Later, my mentor gave me the book containing the prophetic words spoken over my life during the baptism. The prophecies she recorded were too immense for me to grasp. They included declarations such as, “You are a great woman of God,” and “God has placed the gift of healing within you and will use you mightily.” These words felt surreal, especially as I had no understanding of what it meant to be a woman of God, let alone a great one. She assured me that God would train me through His Holy Spirit and prophesied that my journey would be extraordinary. At the time, I didn’t understand, but after the challenges I’ve faced and the numerous revelations I’ve received, I now see that the Holy Spirit spoke through her.
From that moment onward, my life transformed. That night, I was given a room in the church with three wonderful sisters. Each had their own bed, but mine held a picture of Jesus Christ holding the cross, standing before Pontius Pilate, silent while Pontius pointed at Him. That night, exhausted, I didn’t initially notice the picture, but God ensured I would see it in my dreams. While asleep, the Holy Spirit overtook me, causing me to pray in tongues throughout the night until I was finally allowed to drift into deep sleep.
My life had shifted from encounters with sleep paralysis to praying in tongues while partially asleep overnight. I vividly recall seeing that picture in my mind as if the Lord was revealing how my destiny would unfold—a destiny of taking up my cross and following Him, remaining faithful despite false accusations. This powerful experience remains etched in my memory.
Upon waking, I discovered that all my sisters had risen in prayer positions. When I inquired about it, they expressed their confusion, stating that they often found themselves in such positions while deeply praying. They were bewildered until I shared my overnight experience. As I recounted my revelation, I finally noticed the picture on the wall above my bed, gasping in awe. They understood that the Holy Spirit had ministered to me, filling the room with a Pentecostal experience while we slept. We all glorified God for the testimony of His presence.
---
**Chapter 17: Beginning of Oppositions**
This marked the beginning of my journey into the gift of revelations. God continued to unveil many secrets to me. The following church day was yet another exhilarating experience. People regarded me as a peculiar being; those with the gift of sight insisted I was glowing. Two Asian ladies visiting the church for the first time eagerly sought to meet me. Unsure why, I wondered if they had heard about me.
When they finally approached, they stood speechless for a moment. Upon shaking my hand, they partially fell to the floor, overwhelmed. I was new to this and needed guidance to comprehend what was happening. During worship, the voices began to sound inhuman; I heard angelic voices singing, with shimmering lights all around the church. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit overtook me, and from deep within, I yelled. A lady nearby, afflicted with a deformed spine, abruptly moved as if pushed, standing straight for the first time. Shocked and tearful, she gazed at me. I did nothing; I too was confused. Jesus is the Greatest Physician, and He deserves all the glory. I was merely a vessel He chose to use.
However, the attention was overwhelming for me, as I was naturally shy. I stepped outside for a moment to gather myself. That was when the persecution began. I overheard the two Asian ladies mocking me after the service, sowing seeds of doubt and distraction—just the beginning of adversities, rejections, and fiery darts the devil would hurl at me for pursuing Jesus.
---
**Chapter 18: A Longing to Fulfill My Calling**
I felt an increasing sense of purpose, a calling to become a warrior for Christ. I yearned to utilize my experiences to assist others grappling with similar challenges, equipping them with tools to resist evil forces.
With the backing of my church community, I explored ministry opportunities, volunteering for church activities and outreach programs. I discovered a passion for sharing my testimony and the incredible grace of God.
This journey wasn’t without its difficulties. There were setbacks and moments of doubt, yet through it all, I clung to my faith. I recognized that God had a plan for my life, and I was resolute in following His will.
---
**Chapter 19: Activating the Gift of Tongues**
As I matured in faith, I experienced a deeper connection with the Holy Spirit. A sense of anointing flowed through me, empowering me to minister to others. I discovered the power of the gift of tongues—a supernatural ability allowing me to pray in unknown languages. Initially, this gift eluded me until I approached the pastor who baptized me. I confided that I couldn’t fluently speak in tongues while awake; I merely shouted when the Holy Spirit moved.
He held my hands, asked me to focus on him, and prayed in tongues. Suddenly, the Spirit surged within me, pushing forth until I began to pray in tongues, much like a child learns to speak and walk.
With each passing day, my confidence blossomed. I realized I was no longer just a survivor of the occult; I was a vessel of God's grace, called to be a light in the darkness, a beacon of hope for the lost.
Brethren, as a new creature in Christ, please be aware that this comes with a lot of opposition, battles and attacks because the devil doesn’t want to let you go. The attacks start happening almost instantly because you went from darkness into light, from the book of death to the book of life, from a sinner to a saint, from old to new, from filthy to clean, from an outsider to an heir of the Kingdom of God and from a vessel filled with rotten things with no value to a vessel filled with the treasures of God, His Holy Spirit, His Kingdom. Make no mistake about it, there will be an intense war for your soul but be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world.
May the Lord surround you with the right ministers to nurture, and train you after becoming a born-again Christian. Without guidance, some may turn away and go back to Egypt because of the intense warfare that follows. The devil won’t tempt you with what you don’t like. He will use those you love and trust to betray you (family, friends, partners or spouses, colleagues, bosses and others), send you people you used to hang out with to tempt you to do the things you used to do, he will send mockers to criticize everything about you including your new way of dressing or the fact that you are no longer amongst the wealthy and ‘it’ crowd and you will be rejected, your name cast out as evil. Some of those who treat you wickedly won’t even know why they are treating you that way. Yes indeed, some will hate you without a cause. Be strong and continue on the narrow road that leads to Jesus for wide is the road that leads to hell and many find that wide road easily.
I’ll also like to point out that the devil and the world will hate you just as they hated Jesus because now the Spirit of Jesus lives within you which is an offense to satan. The kingdom of darkness won’t trouble nonentities or those who are still friends with the world and their lord satan. They battle against those with great destinies in Jesus to hinder or stop those destinies from manifesting. You have become a light of the world; darkness hates light and seeks to quench that light.
Remain steadfast in your walk with Jesus. If they reject you in one city even if it is in a church, go to another as led by the Holy Spirit. Keep seeking till you find Jesus, and work out your own salvation. The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence but the violent taketh it by force.
I am exposing this to new believers because no one told me about the battles after receiving Jesus Christ, and how to handle them. As a result, I left that church I loved because of the church hurt inflicted on me. That wouldn’t have been the case if I was told what to expect and how to deal with it in prayer and trust in God to take care of my battles. Endure the suffering, take up the cross and follow Him because your reward is great in heaven. The image of Jesus was marred too, and to be a friend of Jesus or like the image of Jesus, your image would have to be marred too by the enemies of Jesus. A friend of the world is an enemy to Jesus Christ.
Amongst the diverse spiritual gifts God gave me, I had no idea that He also gave me the Spirit of discernment which acted like an inner alarm system. I will share this experience with you much later in the series.
