I move my father’s body to wake him up, but he remains still. I have seen this scene before. Even mom wasn’t moving anymore. Why dad doesn’t wake up either? He can’t die too. I don’t realize it, but I am already sobbing. I already know that dad will never move again. It’s all my fault. To avoid getting caught up in the fireworks, he threw me away from him. And then he remained on the ground. And now I no longer have mom and dad. I am only one hand old girl. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know where to go. The fireworks, as mom called them, never stop exploding. There are also toy sirens that never stop ringing. My ears can’t take It anymore. What do I do now that I am alone alone? Also I can’t stop crying, but my teary eyes still look at everything around. Where our house used to be there is now a big hole. I only see large and small pieces of the building all on the ground. I look around and there are a lot of holes. I know who throws the fireworks, my mom told me. He Is a gentleman who doesn’t love us. I have seen him on the television, when our house was still there. He seemed to me kind and good. But now I don’t believe it anymore because he killed mom and dad with the fireworks. The noise of the toy sirens increases. It means I immediately have to play hide and seek, where noone can find me. That’s what dad told me to do many many times. The fireworks are going are still exploding. I don’t want to play hide and seek, I want to stay with my dad. I don’t want to leave him alone. The sound of explosions Is getting closer and closer to me. All the people around me are running away, maybe they are going to play hide and seek too. A lady takes my hand and drags me away from dad. But I don’t want to go with this lady. Never go away with strangers, said mom always. But the lady takes my hand again and tells me that the missiles are already arriving. I don’t know what she is talking about. I have to protect dad’s body from the bad fireworks. I finally manage to free myself from the lady’s grip and walk back to dad. I stay here. This is my place to be, so close to the city where baby Jesus was born so long ago. I hear a horrible noise too close to me. I am so firm like dad. Tell the kind gentleman that he must stop playing with the fireworks.
