The truth is that I really like you.
For a while now, I have been sitting on this bench, with my hands burried in my pockets. I am the male figure that tilts its head slightly, just to have a better look at your fragile wrists, your small legs. You, of course, have no idea I am staring at you.You flip your little ponytail with a delicious innocence, while the rest of the kids fade into shadows around you.You are the only one that is genuinely on my mind, and soon enough, I shall be the only one on yours.
I have been pointlessly searching for a purpose in other cities; in houses with smashed windows and emptied beds.I have covered distances your underdeveloped mind cannot comprehend. If only you knew what you really were capable of... You would reveal yourself under skin that burns with the heat of the fire and eventually melts away.
Mother always said so: children are the brightest of angels and the darkest of demons.
I just want to show you how special you are.
I can think of some exciting ways to rip the demon out of you, so that our similar souls may become one. Please, stay quiet. Don't ask me how many times I have done this. In my car, the blood is still drying on the edge of the crowbar and the clothes are dreched in red; I have neglected to burn them. I am quite lucky, I suppose. I am too good at being vile..
The day has passed. I am hidden in the shades of the trees that loom over your backyard. The leaves softly caress my dusty jacket, but I can only hear my breath, loud and desperate, ringing in my ears. It is my best jacket, you know. I wore it just for you. I can barely hold my anticipation under control, but it's too soon; the lights in your parents room haven't gone out completely just yet.
Using my hand, I lean tiredly against the trunk of the tree, trying to balance myself. I don't think I can stand. I definitely can't wait. My need to feed is urgent, but all I should do for now is think.
My knuckles turn white, the grip on the crowbar unbearably strong against my rough skin.
The lights are out.
I slip quietly through the bushes and with your eyes long shut, you don't see me lurking outside your window. I just want to touch you. My nose is pressed on the cold, glassy surface, the quick gasps of lust blurring my vision as they fog up the window. My tongue darts out, saliva dripping from its end. I have been so good. I have been so patient. Now, I can almost taste you.
I can only think about staring at you from above, while your golden hair is wild and sprawled across the pillow. They are forming a halo, isn't that funny? You need to make a good impression, even as your breathing is slowed down, unaware of my body heat in your room.
Oh, but I know your weak spot. I don't want to hurt you terribly. I definitely can't stand your crying and screaming. I just feel...the weight of the crowbar as it lands on your head, your skull crashing under it, your senses dulled.
Is this the same trick you use to full everyone else? They think you' re so innocent, don't they?
There's a thud on the floor. Your folks won't make it.
Serves them right for having a big house. Don't they know Halloween is a dark night? What is it they call it? Ah, yes "Spooky Season". If only your parents knew that a monster dwelled in their castle all along. A monster they helped raise. They'll be thanking me soon, long after their screams of anguish have fainted.
I am dragging you through the woods. You are so easy to carry, alive still. My sweet, darling creature, the more you scream the hungrier I get. I don't know if you have ever felt that before, but fear always left me famished. Of course, you have, even a little bit. It's in your blood, my darling demon. No. It's dull. It smells... human. It looks like it too. I knew you would be a hard one to crack.
No matter. I will just carve your face inch by inch. How does it feel? My pulling and tearing your skin bit by bit, until the flesh is bare. How does it feel when the tiny muscles stop pumping with life?
I am sure you won't care. You will have met our maker by that point.
Soon.
It has to be soon.
The lights in your parents room are forever out. I hope they don't look out the window.
The day is 31st of October. Halloween. My place is no longer under the trees.
