At the edge of a small town, in a tiny house lives a girl named Mira together with her grandpa.Mira is 16 years old and she loves astronomy.She had always wished to become an astronaut and go to the outer space one day,but her wings were cut short by the people she trusted the most.At school she was deemed as an outcast and her dreams were always the main topic of gossip and mean jokes .The only person Mira got on with was her friend Sarah ,who understood her passion for stars and space.Unfortunately she was forced to move out of town with her family,leaving Mira behind.After Sarah had moved away ,even though they kept in touch,Mira couldn't find her place among the students at school.She felt a longing to belong ,but she was like a broken puzzle piece that wouldn't fit in anywhere,no matter how hard she tried.She had hoped to find reassurance at home ,so she opened up to her parents,telling them about her dream.But they had cut her dream short,telling her it was unrealistic and that she should stop dreaming with her eyes open and start searching for a real career. At that moment Mira had felt heartbroken ,but most of all betrayed .She had lost the will to do what she loves ,becoming an empty shell of who she once were.
One day her grandpa came to visit .When he saw that her nice wasn't acting like herself,he pulled her aside and asked what was wrong.It took a while for Mira to tell him the truth ,but when she did her grandpa didn't judge her:
,,Tell me my dear ,do you know what's the hardest gemstone in the world?,, grandpa asked her calmly.
Mira was surprised by the sudden question so she thought for a minute,then said:
,,It has to be the diamond ,right?,,
Grandpa shook his head:
,,No it's something simpler than that ...Something that each of us has, a priceless treasure that cannot be replace by nothing in this world,,
,,I don't understand grandpa...,,
,,Oh my child..the answer is your will.If your will is strong no one could ever bring you down.Don't let others tell you what to do.Choose your own path and walk it with your chin held high even in the darkest times.Now, come and live with me far away from here,let's shape your dreams together.,,
Mira was touched by her grandpa's wisdom and finally stood up for herself ,deciding to move away from her parents and start fresh.Since then she had lived with her grandpa and was happier than ever.Her dreams slowly started to become reality and she was happy that she didn't give up.
Never let your dreams on the shelf you'll be surprised of what you could do if you trust yourself and take the first step towards a new future,one in which your dream becomes reality .Don't be afraid of opening up to people or asking for help .There will always be that person that'll understand you like no one else does.To find her you need to let time mend things,but don't let the bad things bring you down.
