One day, a young man named Samrat arrived at the library to register. He met Mr. Kaushik, who gave him a tour. Samrat decided to join because the library was close to his workplace and the fees were nominal, which was important as he was struggling financially. While discussing the timings, Samrat explained that he could only come after 9 p.m. as his job finished around 7 p.m. Mr. Kaushik informed him that these hours were beyond the library's usual operating time, and Samrat could only come during the restricted hours. Samrat began to leave, stating it wouldn't be possible for him.
Seeing Samrat leave, Mr. Kaushik had an idea. He thought that if Samrat attended the library after 9 p.m., the fear surrounding the place might vanish, allowing him to extend his hours and make his business profitable. He immediately stopped Samrat and agreed to the late timing, but with conditions. The conditions were: Since Samrat would be the only student at that time, all the main lights and fans would be shut off, with only the study area where Samrat would be and the washroom lights and fans operating. Second, as Mr. Kaushik himself would not be present, he would lock the main gate of the library. Lastly, Samrat would have to remain in the library until 5 a.m. the next morning, until Mr. Kaushik returned.
After some thought, Samrat agreed to the conditions. He desperately needed a place to study for his MBA entrance exam, as his current job did not fulfill his objectives. So, Samrat filled out the registration form, paid the amount, and agreed to start from Monday. At the time of leaving, Samrat felt delighted that he had gotten admission easily and the timing suited him, without having any knowledge about the place's reputation.
