heart. Anu, 27 years old, is one such person in my life. She's not just an ordinary girl;
she's a source of inspiration for every woman. Life threw many challenges her way, but Anu,
with no support from family or friends, rose above them all and built her own path to success.
She is the most amazing person I've ever known, with an infectious spirit and strength that
captivates everyone around her.
Anu is beautiful inside and out. Her eyes, the most beautiful I've ever seen, have a depth that
speaks volumes. Boys are crazy about her, and there are two who are competing for her
affection. Yet, she remains grounded, staying true to herself, never letting anyone define her
worth.
We met with luck - quite literally - and since that day, we always call it #ConnectionByLuck.
Our memories together, though short, are ones I cherish deeply. Anu's presence was like a
breath of fresh air, and she had a magical touch in everything she did, including cooking. She
made the most delicious food, especially vada pav, which was better than any I'd ever tasted in
Mumbai.
On **September 4, 2022**, I gathered my courage and proposed to her. I shared my feelings
with her, but she wasn't ready. Her past experiences with relationships weren't the best, and she
needed time to think. Even so, we remained friends, and after a while, on **March 16, 2023**,
we went on a long drive together. That evening, on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway at exactly 7:27
PM, she said "yes." I can't describe the joy I felt in that moment. We were happy, planning our
future together. Everything seemed perfect.
Then, one day, she surprised me by asking about marriage. I was taken aback but thrilled at the
thought of spending my life with her. My parents were happy too, but things took a turn when I
made a common mistake. In a moment of possessiveness, we had a small argument about one
of her friends. That little fight snowballed into something bigger. My insecurities got the better of
me, and I doubted her. My mother noticed the tension between us and gave me advice: "She's
your partner. You need to trust her completely, just as she trusts you."
But things escalated further when Anu told me she didn't want to live a life of lies. She insisted
that my parents know everything about her past, and whatever their opinion, we would respect
it. When I told them, my father supported us, but my mother didn't agree. The situation got
worse, and I asked Anu to meet my family. It didn't go well. My mother, normally calm and kind, but in anger she
said things that hurt Anu deeply, things about her family that no one should have to hear. Yet,
Anu stayed silent out of respect for me and my love for my mother.
In the end, my mother asked her to stay away from me, and Anu, being the respectful and
selfless person she is, agreed. She left me because my mother asked her to. That was the
biggest mistake of my life - because I couldn't stand up for her in front of my family, and I lost her. Anu valued my mother so much that she couldn't bear to hurt her, even if it meant leaving
me behind.
Months passed, and I couldn't stop thinking about her. After five long months, I finally gathered
the courage to ask her to meet again. At first, she refused, but after several attempts, she
agreed. We met on **September 21st**. She brought me coffee and vada pav, and we spent
time together like old friends. When I dropped her home, she told me she was ready to give me
a second chance, but on one condition: there could be no boundaries or restrictions. She
wanted to live her life freely, without the constraints society often places on women.
I thought long and hard about what she said. That night, she messaged me around 4 AM. She
couldn't sleep, and I knew the weight of our situation was heavy on her heart. After reflecting on
everything, I made the hardest decision of my life. I told her that, as much as I loved her, I
couldn't let her dreams be compromised. Her happiness and freedom mattered more to me than
anything else. I told her:
*"Let's part ways on good terms, as we always promised. I never wanted to continue a
relationship built on lies, and I can't hold you back from your dreams. You gave me a chance,
and I respect that more than anything. I'm sorry if I hurt you, but I accept that we should stop
this conversation here, as you wished. I know you'll do great things in the future. You're special,
Anu, and your happiness matters the most to me."*
I never disrespected her; I just wanted her to be happy, even if it meant I couldn't be a part of
her life anymore. Her happiness means everything to me, and if she's happy without me, that's
all I need. Anu has the power to change anyone's life for the better, and whoever she chooses
as her life partner is incredibly lucky.
To Anu, my best friend, and the best girl I've ever known: I wish you a life full of love, joy, and
success. You deserve nothing less.
**Dedicated to Anu: The girl who showed me what true love and respect really mean.**
