The first time I saw Marc at his workplace, I was instantly drawn to him. He had such beautiful eyes and a perfectly shaped nose. Over time, we became close friends — always texting, calling, and laughing together. He was naturally funny. Just a few days ago, he received three different servings of pancit from a birthday, a relative, and a friend. He laughed and said, “Looks like I’m going to be immortal!” I couldn’t stop laughing with him.
The more time we spent together, the deeper my feelings grew. But I was scared. What if he found out? I didn’t want to ruin the friendship we had. So I tried to be subtle. One day, I sent him a message, pretending it was a group text. It said: “Can’t help this feeling anymore – Reo Speedwagon.”
To my surprise, Marc replied, “Then don’t stop it.”
My heart raced. Was he just being playful? Or did he understand what I meant? That simple reply echoed in my mind. Maybe he knew. Maybe he felt the same. But for now, I’d keep it in — holding onto this quiet hope that one day, maybe, he’d say more.
