Once upon a time, there was a girl named Yukti. She was sitting alone in her room, watching the news on television. The headlines flashed across the screen, reporting a horrific crime - a young girl had been raped two nights ago. The suspect had been caught, but shockingly, he was none other than the victim's boyfriend. However, because he was wealthy, he managed to use his money and influence to reduce his sentence.
Yukti felt disgusted and heartbroken upon hearing this. She couldn't understand how justice could be so easily manipulated. The thought of such an atrocity weighed heavily on her mind, so she decided to distract herself. Picking up the remote, she changed the channel and started watching an episode of Shinchan, hoping that the lighthearted cartoon would lift her spirits.
After watching one episode, she forced herself to focus on her studies. She studied diligently for two hours, trying to push the disturbing news out of her mind. However, no matter how hard she tried, her thoughts kept circling back to the injustice she had just witnessed. The unfairness of it all gnawed at her.
Feeling restless, she picked up her phone and began scrolling through reels on social media. As she mindlessly flicked through the videos, another news report caught her attention. This time, it was even more horrifying.
The headline read: Doctor's Body Found Half-Naked in a Medical College Seminar Hall.
Yukti's breath hitched as she continued reading. The details were chilling. The body of a female doctor had been discovered on a mattress, bloodstains surrounding her lifeless form. Her phone and laptop were found nearby. The police had sent her body for a post-mortem examination, which confirmed the worst - she had been gang-raped before being murdered.
Her face bore deep scratch marks, and blood had trickled from her mouth and eyes. There were bruises on her lips, neck, stomach, and fingers. The wounds on her private areas confirmed the brutal nature of the crime. Yet, despite the evident signs of violence, the hospital management initially informed the doctor's family that she had committed suicide. When her father arrived at the scene, he was devastated and immediately accused the perpetrators of rape and murder. The police finally registered a case.
Yukti felt her stomach churn. Her mind was in turmoil. How could such monstrous acts happen? How could the world allow such injustices to continue? No amount of distraction could erase the horror of what she had just read. The weight of these tragedies settled deep in her heart, leaving her restless, angry, and profoundly disturbed.
She switched off her phone and sat still, staring at the wall. For the first time, she felt an overwhelming helplessness, a desperate need for the world to change. But she didn't know how.
And that was the scariest part of all.
That night, she lay in bed, unable to sleep. Thoughts swirled in her mind - Are there really such people in this world?
The next morning, she had to go to the office. She got up, got ready, and left for work. Upon arriving, she overheard a conversation - one of her female colleagues had quit her job because her husband didn't allow her to work. Yukti felt a deep frustration at this reality.
To clear her mind, she picked up her phone again and began scrolling through reels. Another news notification popped up - a bus driver had raped a young girl. She ignored the news, but the thought lingered, unsettling her. Then, another news story caught her attention - this time from Thailand. A woman had raped a man, and she had been sentenced to jail. Yukti put her phone aside and focused on her work.
She worked as an employee in an architecture firm, though her heart wasn't fully in it. Her sister had a government job, which led to constant comparisons at home. Her father, a civil engineer with a prosthetic leg, was a hardworking man, and Yukti deeply admired him. She wanted to do something meaningful for him.
Though she was an architect, she dreamed of opening her own firm, but financial constraints held her back. Her father could support her, but she wanted to achieve it on her own. Apart from architecture, she loved drawing and had always wanted to build a career in it. However, to please her family, she had chosen architecture instead. She wasn't happy in her job but worked diligently, though frustration occasionally crept in.
As she worked, her mind drifted - I never got what I truly wanted. I wanted to be an actress, but I couldn't. I wanted a career in drawing, but I sacrificed it. I wanted my own office, but I couldn't achieve that either. I even wanted to study English literature, but my area didn't offer the course, and my parents wouldn't let me move away.
These thoughts consumed her for the next few days. Meanwhile, reports of rapes and rising crime rates continued to flood the news. Since she often worked late, she started feeling scared. Even when a close friend offered to drop her home, a dark thought crept into her mind - What if he tries to hurt me? Though he was a good friend, she found herself unable to trust anyone completely.
It's Kalyug? you never know what might happen.
And so, her days passed, weighed down by fear, frustration, and an overwhelming sense of helplessness.
A few days later, Yukti found herself bored. The weight of the same thoughts and fears ran in circles in her mind. She decided to distract herself and walked toward her bookshelf. Scanning through her collection, she noticed a mix of books - some about devils, others about gods from different cultures, including Indian, Thai, Japanese, and Chinese mythology.
She sighed. I'm so bored. And my mind is constantly stuck on the same dark thoughts.
Just then, the doorbell rang. Yukti opened the door to find a delivery boy standing there with a package. Her face lit up - her order had arrived. It was a book on Dark Psychology. Excited, she tore open the package and started reading.
As she flipped through the pages, she noticed something unusual. A folded piece of paper was tucked inside. Curious, she pulled it out. The headline on the page read: Deal with the Devil.
Her interest piqued. Now this seems fun. She smirked, reading the details about how one could supposedly make a deal with the devil.
A devilish smile spread across her face. An idea formed in her mind. Three days off? I should take a short trip to my village. It'd be better to try this there - doing it in the city could land me in jail.
The thought thrilled her. Not only was she intrigued by what was written, but she also saw it as an escape from her mundane life.
She chuckled to herself, Maybe someone read this book, got spooked by this page, and returned it. But for me? this is about to get very interesting.
The next day, Yukti boarded a bus to her village, Marline, located near washington. By the time she arrived, night had fallen. Her uncle and aunt lived in the family home, as her father worked in Garfield Country due to his job.
She greeted them, had dinner, and went to bed early. But at 3 AM, she woke up with a plan. She grabbed a knife and quietly stepped outside. The streets were empty as she made her way to a crossroads just five minutes from her house.
Following the instructions from the mysterious paper, she dug a small hole in the ground and placed the paper inside. Then, taking the knife, she made a small cut on her thumb and let a few drops of blood fall onto the buried paper before covering it with soil.
As she stood there waiting, she suddenly heard footsteps approaching. Two drunken men stumbled into view. Their eyes locked onto her, dark intentions gleaming.
One of them sneered, "What's a pretty girl like you doing here all alone?"
A dimly lit road. The village is silent, asleep. Yukti, mid-20s, stands alone under a flickering streetlight. Her face is blank, but her eyes burn with a strange determination. She clutches a KNIFE in her hand.
She kneels, digs a small hole in the dirt, and pulls out a CRUMPLED PIECE OF PAPER from her pocket. The paper reads: "Deal with the Devil."
Yukti (whispers) Let's see if this is real or just a joke.
She slices her thumb with the knife. A few drops of blood drip onto the buried paper. She covers it with dirt and waits, her heart pounding.
FOOTSTEPS approach. Two DRUNKEN MEN stumble into view.
BOY 1 Hey, pretty thing? what are you doing out here all alone?
BOY 2 Need some company? We can take you home.
Yukti doesn't move. Her fingers tighten around the knife.
Yukti (V.O.) Four minutes have passed. The devil isn't coming. Maybe a sacrifice is needed.
She slowly smirks.
BOY 1 steps closer, reaching out to touch her.
SLASH! The knife cuts through his wrist. Blood SPURTS. He SCREAMS, stumbling back.
BOY 2 (furious) You crazy bitch!
He charges at her. Yukti doesn't hesitate. She thrusts the knife into his stomach.
BOY 2 gasps. Falls to his knees. His body twitches. Then, stillness.
BOY 1 (shaking) Please? let me go.
Yukti tilts her head, considering.
Yukti Run.
The man turns and BOLTS. Yukti watches, then suddenly dashes after him.
She grabs his HAIR from behind, yanks him back, and slices his throat in one swift motion.
He falls. Dead.
Breathing heavily, Yukti stares at the bodies. Her hands tremble. Then, she regains her composure.
She drags the corpses to the dug-up spot, placing them over the buried paper. She steps back, closes her eyes, and raises her arms.
Yukti (whispering) This is my offering. Show yourself? Devil, come to me.
The wind HOWLS. A dark presence looms. The streetlight flickers violently.
The air was heavy with the smell of damp earth and an unsettling silence. Suddenly, a deep voice sliced through the darkness, sending a chill down her spine.
DEVIL
"What happened? Why did you summon me?" The voice was low, almost a growl, and filled with an unnatural power. "Listen, my terrifying voice."
Yukti froze. The shadowy figure standing in front of her felt like it was drawn from her darkest nightmares. She could sense the danger in the air, but her mind raced, trying to find a way out. The figure moved closer, and she felt an icy gust of wind blow past her, tugging at her clothes.
The voice continued, almost mocking her.
"Didn't you see my beard?
Though Yukti's heart pounded in her chest, she did her best to remain calm. She knew showing her fear would give this... thing, this presence, power over her
The figure let out a dark laugh, and Yukti could feel the ground beneath her feet tremble. "If your face were to show, I would have killed you by now. There is something in you. Have you valued your life?"
Yukti stood still, her mind working rapidly. She had to stay in control. The night seemed to grow colder with each passing second, the figure's presence suffocating. But she had an idea. If she was going to survive this encounter, she needed to play along - at least for now.
"I want everything that i wish for," Yukti said, her voice strong. "And enough money to hire three or four bodyguards." The devil laughed again, the sound dark and menacing.
"Hahahaha! And what will I get? You have nothing to give me, and hurry up and tell me what you can do for me... I have plenty of work to do."
Yukti clenched her fists, trying to push down the fear that was threatening to overwhelm her. "I want my own office... and enough money to protect myself. That's all I want."
The figure's eyes glinted with amusement.
"And what will I get?" he asked, his voice dripping with malice.
Yukti paused, thinking carefully. What could she possibly offer this thing in exchange for her desires? She wasn't sure, but she had to think of something.
"What do you want?" she asked cautiously
The devil grinned wickedly.
"I want your soul."
Yukti recoiled at the words. Her stomach twisted with fear and disgust.
"I can't give you my soul... But maybe I can offer you something else."
The devil laugh grew louder.
"You can't give me anything! But... I'll make you a deal. If you give me 15 souls, and I'll make all your wishes come true." Yukti's heart skipped a beat. She couldn't even imagine how she could possibly fulfill such a request.
"I can't kill anyone," she said, voice trembling. "It would be a sin."
The devil stepped closer to her, a twisted grin stretching across his face.
"Sin? Hahaha... What do you think, was the blood spilled in the sacrifice virtuous?"
Yukti was speechless. His words echoed in her mind, a cruel reminder of the twisted world she was trapped in. But she had no choice. She needed to find a way out of this, to get what she wanted without losing everything.
A plan began to form in her mind.Yukti's tounge slipped because of fear, and in the place of 15 souls she said 20.
"I'll give you 20 souls," she said slowly, weighing each word. "But you must take their bodies and souls immediately. No delays." The devil laughted and said "20??I want only 15 souls but if you want to give me 20 i will take it but i can't do anything with the body i can't take the body in my world so you should take care of it" The devil disappere. Yukti think and say to herself "oh god how can it happen what i done instead of 15 i said 20 and why call this devil in this world so should i have to kill no i don't wanna do it"She was so lost in thought that she barely noticed the time on her wristwatch - 4:00 AM. Panic set in as she realized just how much time she had lost. How could she possibly gather 20 souls? She had no idea where to even begin.
"I killed rapists... but even then, I couldn't bring 20 people. What should I do?" she muttered under her breath, her mind racing.
Suddenly, there was a noise outside her door. Her heart leapt in her chest as she turned quickly. The door was locked from the outside. She hurried to unlock it, almost tripping in her haste. She pushed the door open and stepped out, but her thoughts were interrupted.
With quick steps, she rushed back to her room and closed the door behind her, the weight of the situation closing in on her. She collapsed onto her bed, her mind spinning. The devil's deal had been made. There was no turning back.
She closed her eyes, hoping for sleep, but knowing deep down that there was no escaping what she had just agreed to. It was too late.
She had made a bargain with the devil.
And now, she had to live with the consequences.
Two weeks had passed in the blink of an eye. Yukti had successfully opened her office, and within the next week, two bodyguards were already guarding her. But as the days passed, the weight of the deal with the devil grew heavier on her mind. One night, as she lay in bed, a voice echoed through the silence - an unmistakable, familiar voice.
DEVIL-"What are you doing? It's been two weeks. I need those souls. Bring them to me."
Yukti, half asleep, muttered in response.
"Yes..."
But suddenly, her eyes snapped open. The clock read 2:45 AM. She lay still for a moment, her mind racing, trying to process the situation. She whispered to herself in panic.
"I can't kill 20 people. I haven't even gotten over the trauma of killing those two. How can I do it again? How can I kill humans?"
A flood of conflicting emotions rushed through her mind. What could she possibly do to escape this nightmare?
She abruptly sat up in bed and turned on the light. The fear coursing through her veins had pushed her to the edge. She grabbed a bedsheet and started tying it to the fan, attempting to make a noose. She was about to end it all when the lights in her room flickered. They turned off, and the room was plunged into darkness. Then, as if the room itself was alive, a red light illuminated the space.
In that crimson glow, a shadow appeared, its form unmistakable. It was the devil. His voice was cold, filled with mockery.
DEVIL-"Why the shock of wanting to kill yourself? You signed an agreement, remember? The night you put your thumbprint in blood on that paper - that was your signature, fool."
The devil walked toward her, his presence suffocating. He grabbed her by the throat, lifting her off the ground with ease.
DEVIL- "I've done my job. I've fulfilled your dream. You got everything you wanted, and now you want to kill yourself? You wanted this, so why are you hesitating? What's taking so long to do your part?"
Tears welled up in Yukti's eyes, and with a trembling voice, she spoke.
"Just kill me. But I can't do that... I can't kill anyone else."
A single tear slipped from her eye, and the devil's face twisted in contempt.
DEVIL- "No, you'll do what's required. Come with me."
He transported her to the top of the tallest building in the city. She looked down at the dizzying heights, her fear escalating.
DEVIL- "You want to die, right? Fine, die. But remember this: If you don't fulfill your part of the deal in this life, you'll have to do it in your next life. No one, not even a god, can release you from this contract. You'll die, yes, but your soul will stay with me. I will never let you go."
With that, he threw her off the building. Yukti screamed as she fell, but before she could hit the ground, she was caught in midair by the devil, who effortlessly stopped her descent.
DEVIL- "I won't let you die. And if you don't give me those 20 souls in this life, I'll make your life a living hell. Your company will fall, your family will suffer, and your future generations will never know peace. Now tell me - what will you do?"
Yukti, her voice trembling but filled with determination, replied,
"I'll do it... I'll bring you 20 souls."
The devil, satisfied with her response, used his powers to transport her back to her room. The room was now bathed in a frightening red light, casting long shadows across the walls.
DEVIL- "I don't trust you, Yukti. So from now on, one of my servants will stay with you. He will be your keeper."
Yukti looked at him, confused.
"How will that work? Will it be your soul?"
DEVIL- "First of all, this isn't a soul. It's just a spirit that sold its own soul. Second, the spirit's name is Edward."
Yukti's heart pounded. She wasn't sure whether she was in control of her own fate anymore. The devil had already manipulated her life in ways she could never have imagined.
And now, a shadowy spirit named Edward would be watching her every move.
The following day, at 6 PM, Yukti was in her office, working late. It had been a stressful week, and the weight of the deal with the devil was never far from her mind. As the clock ticked on, the door to her office opened, and a man stepped inside. He looked every bit the professional businessman. His personality was calm and confident, and his attire was immaculate. He had the kind of presence that made people take notice.
He walked up to the receptionist, who greeted him with a polite smile.
EDWARD- "I need to meet Yukti."
The receptionist, raising an eyebrow, asked,
"Do you have an appointment?"
EDWARD- "No, but you can tell her that I was supposed to meet her today. My boss informed her last night."
The receptionist nodded and went to inform Yukti. After a moment, Yukti looked up from her work, feeling a sudden unease. She hesitated, then remembered the devil's words and his plan.
Yukti- "Let him in, and ask the others to leave. It's getting late. Let them handle the rest tomorrow."
Moments later, the door opened, and Edward stepped in. The receptionist left, closing the door behind her. Yukti gave him a hard look as he approached her.
Yukti- "So, you're the one the devil sent?"
Edward smiled, a knowing expression on his face. He walked calmly toward her desk and spoke in a quiet, yet assured tone.
EDWARD- "And you're the one who made a deal without thinking twice. Did you really think the gods would save you from the devil? Let me tell you something - your 'boss' is the more clever than anyone. He knows every move humans make. The moment he met you, he knew who you were, how far you can go, and what you would do. You're not the only one who thinks that you are smart. There are many devils who are far more cunning than you realize."
Yukti scowled, her frustration growing. Yukti- "Enough with the talk. No one asked you for your opinions. Tell me, where are you staying?"
EDWARD- "I will be staying with you. I will watch every move you make. And remember, you may think you're human, but you're nothing more than a pawn in this game. Don't even think about trying to trick the devil because if you do, your plan will backfire."
Yukti stared at him, digesting his words.
Yukti- "I didn't even think about it that way... but the idea's not bad."
Edward chuckled, clearly enjoying her response.
EDWARD- "Haha, well, tonight, you have a task. You need to kill someone. Don't act like you don't know."
Yukti blinked in confusion. Yukti- "What? When did this happen? Why do I have to do it tonight?"
Edward's smile faltered slightly, turning darker.
EDWARD- "I didn't tell you? You must do it tonight. Otherwise, your sister will be in an accident. She'll be in a car tonight, heading home."
Yukti froze, her blood running cold at the mention of her sister.
Yukti- "Don't do this! Please, don't harm her!"
Edward, unfazed, spoke in a cold, controlled voice.
EDWARD- "Then get started. You don't have much time."
Yukti, trembling with anxiety, clutched the sides of her chair.
Yukti- "But you can't stay with me all the time, can you?
Edward looked at her, his expression unreadable. EDWARD- "What's your problem? Do you think it matters whether I stay with you or not? You wanted to make a deal. Now, you live with the consequences. Do whatever you want."
Yukti, her mind racing, suddenly blurted out.
Yukti- "From now on, you're my cousin. You'll stay with me and assist me with everything. And yes, you'll also help with the business. Just pretend you're studying or something." You're my personal assistance from now.
Edward grinned, his amusement clear.
EDWARD- "Ha, fine. I'll play the part.
Yukti knew she was trapped. There was no way out of this deal now. As she sat there, her mind was spinning with all the implications of the devil's words and Edward's role in her life. The contract had been signed, and there was no going back.
She had made a deal with the devil - and now she had to live with it.
Yukti was driving her car, feeling the weight of her recent decisions pressing down on her. The night air was thick with tension, and her mind was racing with all the things that had happened. As she was making her way through the streets, she glanced at the seat next to her, where Mak Yong sat, quietly observing her.
As they passed by, Yukti suddenly noticed something that caught her attention - one of her office employees, Euno, was standing on the sidewalk, arguing with someone. Yukti slowed the car to a stop, staring at the scene before her.
Yukti- "That's Euno. She works in my office... But who is she arguing with? And it looks like they're fighting."
Edward, who had been silent up until that point, leaned forward, intrigued by the situation.
EDWARD- "Want to hear what they're saying?"
Yukti, feeling both curious and cautious, asked, Yukti- "Is that even possible?"
Edward smiled darkly.
EDWARD- "I'm a devil. Anything is possible. Just take my hand."
Yukti hesitated, then reached out and grabbed Mak Yong's hand. Almost instantly, she could hear the conversation between Euno and her boyfriend, as if they were sitting right next to her.
Euno was yelling at her boyfriend, her voice trembling with frustration.
EUNO- "Tell me, who was that girl? Why didn't you tell me about her? You were kissing her, weren't you? What else did you do with her?"
The boyfriend, looking guilty, tried to defend himself, and said "She's my sister."
Euno scoffed, clearly not convinced.
EUNO- "A sister? No one kisses their sister on the lips! She knew we were about to get married, but even then, she ran off! I'm leaving you, even though you were planning all of this." As Euno turned to walk away, the boyfriend grabbed her hand, trying to stop her. But Euno yanked her hand free, walking away without looking back. She got into a taxi and drove off. Yukti, watching the whole scene unfold, felt a strange sense of satisfaction, but there was also something unsettling about the way it played out.
Yukti- "That was... unexpected. But now I know. What else is going on here?"
Edward smirked, his eyes gleaming with malice.
EDWARD- "It seems like you've got your target now. But just so you know, this guy is involved with more than just Euno. He's also having a 'friends with benefits' situation with her as well. And both these girls? He had his 'wedding night' with them. So, if you want to, you can kill him. He's a perfect candidate."
Yukti, her anger and frustration bubbling over, nodded in agreement.
Yukti- "You're right. I can do it. He deserves it."
Edward's smile widened as he looked at her, sensing the darkness growing in her heart.
EDWARD- "You'll make a good servant of the devil. Keep going down this path, and soon, there'll be no turning back."
Yukti gripped the steering wheel tighter, the weight of her decision heavy in her chest. She had made a deal, and now she had to follow through - no matter what it took. Yukti and Mak Yong tailed Euno's boyfriend as he made his way home. The dimly lit streets provided them cover, and with Mak Yong's powers, they remained unnoticed. Yukti gripped the steering wheel tightly, her heartbeat steady yet filled with anticipation.
Finally, the car rolled to a stop in front of an apartment complex.
Mak Yong, sitting beside her, raised his hand, and in a mere flick of his fingers, all the CCTV cameras in the vicinity crackled and went dark.
EDWARD
"No witnesses."
Yukti smirked and drove inside the apartment's parking area, carefully pulling up near the entrance. As soon as the engine turned off, the voice of Euno's boyfriend rang out.
EUNO'S BOYFRIEND- "Hey! Who are you? This isn't your house!"
Yukti stepped out of the car gracefully, flashing an innocent smile.
Yukti- "Oh? I must have made a mistake. I thought this was someone else's place. Actually, could I get a glass of water? I've been driving for a while."
The boyfriend, eyeing her up and down, smirked. EUNO's BOYFRIEND- "Of course, come on in."
Yukti followed him inside, taking a quick glance around his apartment. Messy. Cheap cologne in the air. Empty beer cans on the table. Typical.
She sat down, watching as he went to fetch water from the kitchen. As he poured the drink, Yukti's eyes flickered to the wine bottle sitting on the counter. A wicked idea formed in her mind.
She knew he would drink heavily that night.
While he was distracted, she moved swiftly - unseen, unnoticed. Taking the wine bottle, she unscrewed the cap and added an excessive amount of salt, increasing it to lethal levels. By the time he turned back around, she was already seated, sipping her water.
Yukti- "Thanks for the drink."
She set the glass down, smiling.
Yukti- "I should get going now."
Without another word, she exited the apartment, walking calmly to her car. Mak Yong was already waiting.
EDWARD- "You seemed quick. So, how do you plan to kill him?" Yukti smirked.
Yukti- "Oh, don't worry. He'll take care of that himself." She started the car, but instead of driving away, she parked at a distance - hidden - where no one could see them. And then, they waited.
An hour passed. The night stretched on, and then finally, at exactly 2:00 AM, Yukti turned to Edward.
Yukti- "Do you think he's dead yet?"
Edward chuckled darkly, his eyes gleaming under the dim streetlights.
EDWARD- "He was so depressed? he drank the whole bottle an hour ago. He's already dead." Yukti scoffed. Yukti- "And you just now tell me? That's something you could've mentioned earlier."
Now came the real problem - getting inside and sealing the deal.
Yukti- "How do we get in?"
Edward leaned back casually.
EDWARD
"Want me to unlock the door from the inside?"
Yukti- "Absolutely."
With another flick of his fingers, a gust of energy slipped through the cracks of the door. A soft click echoed in the silent hallway.
Unlocked.
Yukti entered cautiously, stepping into the silent apartment. The air was thick with the pungent smell of alcohol. And there he was - Euno's boyfriend, lying lifeless on the couch, the empty wine bottle still in his hand.
Yukti wasted no time. She pulled out a knife from her sleeve and made a small cut on her own thumb. The pain was nothing compared to what she had endured before.
Then, she grabbed his lifeless hand and pressed his thumb against the contract paper - the one the devil had given her. The moment his blood touched the document, the ink glowed faintly before fading into darkness. The deal was sealed.
Yukti wiped down every surface she had touched, erasing all traces of her presence. Then, without a single glance back, she walked out and got into the car. Edward flicked his fingers once again, and just like that - the CCTV cameras came back online. No one would suspect a thing. As they drove off into the night, Yukti let out a slow breath. One down. Nineteen more to go. Yukti sat in her office, staring at the crimson-stained contract. Two names crossed out. Eighteen more to go. The air around her felt heavy, as if unseen eyes were watching her every move. Edward sat opposite her, sipping on an espresso like this was just another ordinary day at work.
"So, what's next?" he asked, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Yukti clenched her fists. "I need to be careful. I can't just kill randomly. It has to look natural, like an accident. Something no one will suspect."
Edward smirked. "And do you have someone in mind?"
She didn't reply. Instead, she turned on her computer and started scrolling through news articles. She wasn't searching for just any target - she needed someone whose death would seem inevitable. A name caught her attention.
Kang Dae-jung and Im Se-hoon - Leaders of a Rape Gang Operating in the City's Underground.
Monsters disguised as men. They had ruined countless lives, yet justice had never touched them. Protected by wealth and influence, their crimes were whispered about, but never punished.
That night, Yukti followed them. They were at a private club, drunk and laughing, their arms draped around unwilling women. Yukti's blood boiled. Edward, standing beside her in the shadows, whispered, "You know the rule. Their blood, their thumbprint, or it doesn't count."
Yukti smirked. "I know."
She waited. Watched. When Dae-jung stumbled outside for a smoke, she followed. A flick of her wrist - a small needle pierced his neck. He collapsed instantly. Edward dragged his unconscious body into a nearby alley.
Se-hoon came looking for his friend minutes later. He barely had time to react before Yukti pressed a chloroform-soaked cloth over his face. He struggled, then went limp.
Both men woke up tied to chairs in an abandoned warehouse. Fear flickered in their eyes as Yukti stepped forward, holding a knife.
"You preyed on innocent women," she said coldly. "Tonight, you are the prey."
Dae-jung snarled. "You think you can scare us?"
Yukti didn't answer. She lifted Se-hoon's hand, slashing his thumb slightly. Blood dripped onto the contract she had laid out before them.
Se-hoon's eyes widened in horror. "What - what the hell is this?"
Edward chuckled. "A deal. Your souls are no longer yours."
Yukti did the same to Dae-jung, pressing his bleeding thumb onto the contract. The ink shimmered, the paper absorbing their essence.
And then she stepped back.
Edward raised his hand, and the shadows around them shifted. The air turned freezing as an unseen force grabbed the two men, pulling them into the darkness. Screams filled the warehouse. Then silence.
Yukti closed the contract, another two names crossed out. The next morning, news broke about the mysterious deaths of Kang Dae-jung and Im Se-hoon. The police were baffled. There was no sign of forced entry, no apparent cause of death. Just two men, found lifeless in a locked warehouse.
Yukti barely had time to process her success before another problem arose. Police officer arrive when Yukti arrived at the office of a prominent company. She was here to inspect the situation, as there had been reports of wealthy individuals being targeted. Entering the office, she calmly addressed everyone, "We're here to make sure everything is running smoothly. We are checking to see if there are any problems, especially with the increasing cases of attacks on rich people. Three individuals who were recently murdered were all wealthy. We just want to make sure you're safe and that nothing untoward is happening."
Yukti, overhearing the conversation, couldn't help but think to herself, I didn't know about this... so the police are involved now. That means I have to be extra careful. If I'm not careful, I could be arrested too.
As the police prepared to leave, one of the officers turned to Yukti and said, "Mam, if you come across any information, please let us know immediately. And also, kindly ask all your employees to leave before 6 PM today. Crime is on the rise, and we need to take precautions."
Yukti responded sweetly and with reassurance, "Of course, officer. I will make sure everyone leaves before 6 PM. You don't need to worry. The person you're looking for will be found quickly. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask."
The inspector nodded, grateful for her cooperation. "Thank you, mam. We'll be on our way now."
With that, they left, and Yukti took a deep breath. It was clear that things were getting more complicated, but she had to stay composed. The game had just become more intense. Yukti had taken a break from her chaotic life in the city. With everything spiraling out of control, she needed some time away to clear her head. She'd gone to a nearby village, hoping to find a new lead on her latest target. But the peaceful village yielded nothing. The people there were ordinary, their lives unmarked by the shadows that clung to Yukti's every move.
Her mind wasn't fully in the game. She couldn't afford to let her guard down. The Shadow was everywhere, and the police had tightened their grip on her city. She returned home to the familiar comfort of her house, but the tension never left her. And when she back to her home from office. Her father say to her- "Yukti, what did you think of that boy?" Her father's voice was calm, but there was an urgency behind it. Yukti blinked, her mind still on the mission she couldn't shake. "Aww, ok nice, but why?" She replied, her tone flat. Her father smiled gently. "For your marriage."Yukti's eyes flashed. Marriage. Was this really the time for that? She had more pressing matters, but she couldn't shake the pressure from her father. She quickly dismissed the conversation. Yukti said-"What? No, I can't do this, not now please!" Without waiting for her father's reply, Yukti fled to her room, locking the door behind her. Her room was a sanctuary, but even here, Yukti couldn't completely escape the truth of her life. There was a desk in the corner, where she had laid out a list - a list of criminals she had been tracking. Each name on the list was linked to unspeakable actions, but Yukti couldn't leave it unfinished. She had to hunt them down, one by one.
Her two sisters, Olivia and Avani, knocked on the door and entered. Olivia, the elder, walked in with an air of calm authority, as though she had the right to oversee everything Yukti did. Avani, the younger sister, followed her with an inquisitive glance. Just as the door clicked shut, Yukti felt the air in her room shift. A strange presence seemed to fill the space, and suddenly, Edward, her mysterious associate, appeared before her. His presence was otherworldly, his aura electric, as though the very air hummed with his power.
"Will you marry him, or should we continue hunting your next target?" Edward's voice was low and controlled, as though he already knew what her answer would be.
Yukti narrowed her eyes. "I've found him, but I can't kill him yet. The police are too active in this area. We need to leave." She wasn't ready to make her move - at least not with the police breathing down her neck.
But Avani had overheard everything. Hidden just outside the door, she had pressed her ear against the wood, trying to make sense of the conversation.
"What crime is my sister committing? No, no, it's just business. But who was that voice I just heard?" Avani muttered to herself, stepping away from the door, her mind racing. "I never saw him come in... maybe it was just a call. Yes, that's it."
"Yukti, What's that?" Avani asked, her eyes falling on the list on Yukti's desk.
Yukti immediately scrambled to hide it, but Olivia was quicker, her gaze sharp.
"Yukti, do the marriage it's time to get maary and settle your life." Olivia's voice was firm, the words coming out as if they'd been rehearsed.Yukti clenched her fists. She had heard this enough. "Enough, please get out of my room we will talk later, I'm tired now." She couldn't let them interfere now. They didn't understand. They never would
Olivia and Avani exchanged a glance but didn't push further. They left the room, but Avani lingered for a moment longer, her curiosity piqued.
Her heart raced with questions. What was Yukti hiding? Avani wasn't sure, but one thing was clear: it was more than just business.
"My sister can't even kill a mosquito; how could she be thinking about killing a man?" Avani whispered to herself, her thoughts tangled in confusion. "No, no, she's up to something big, but what is it? She's not the type to do something like this."
The weight of her suspicions grew heavier. She had always admired Yukti, but now, a fear of the unknown was creeping in. What if Yukti was walking a dangerous path - one that Avani didn't fully understand? Back in Yukti's room, the tension was unbearable. She could sense that Avani's curiosity was growing, and if she wasn't careful, her younger sister might start digging into things Yukti couldn't allow her to uncover.
But Yukti couldn't afford to think about that right now. The stakes were too high. The Shadow was still out there, and the police were closing in on her every move. Every decision had to be carefully thought out. One wrong step, and she could lose everything - her family, her business, and her life.
Her father's insistence on marriage was another layer of pressure. Yukti knew that she couldn't hide her secrets forever. The balance between her family life and the dark world she inhabited was becoming harder to maintain.
But the real challenge was just beginning.
Yukti's mind was racing as she thought about everything happening around her. She had a target to eliminate, but the situation was becoming too complicated. Avani's suspicion was growing, and if she didn't keep things under control, everything could fall apart. The pressure from her family, especially her father's insistence on marriage, was only adding to her anxiety.
The police had intensified their search for the criminals she had been hunting, and her connection with Edward only made things worse. Her life had always been a delicate balance between her family's expectations and the dangerous world she had immersed herself in. Now, everything seemed to be collapsing, and Yukti had no choice but to continue playing the game she had chosen.
The next day, Yukti tried to focus on her work in the office, but her thoughts kept drifting back to her family, particularly Avani. The younger sister's increasing curiosity was worrying. Yukti couldn't shake the feeling that Avani was getting closer to discovering her secret. She had been acting suspicious, lingering near her room, asking too many questions. If Avani found out what she was really doing, it would all be over.
Yukti glanced at the clock on her desk. It was 5:00 PM. She had only an hour before she needed to send everyone home. As much as she wanted to ignore the threat that loomed over her, she knew she couldn't afford to. The police were getting closer to uncovering her connections to the criminal world, and the pressure was suffocating.
Just then, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Edward: "We need to move fast. The next target is slipping away."
Yukti's heart raced. She had to act quickly, but how could she leave when her family was growing more suspicious by the day? And if she left, would Avani follow her? What would she do if she found something she shouldn't? That evening, as Yukti made her way home, Avani's mind was in turmoil. She couldn't stop thinking about the strange conversation she had overheard earlier. The mention of a "target," the strange man's voice, and the secrecy surrounding Yukti's actions... it didn't make sense. She had always known her sister was different, but she had never suspected anything like this.
Avani had always admired Yukti. She was smart, confident, and powerful. But now, a part of her felt afraid. What if Yukti was involved in something much darker than she had imagined? Could it be that her sister was not the person she thought she was?
Avani decided she couldn't sit idle any longer. She needed answers. That night, she went to Yukti's room when she was sure her sister wasn't there. The desk, usually neat and organized, now seemed disordered. Papers were scattered everywhere, and one of the drawers was slightly open. Avani's heart pounded as she opened the drawer. Inside, she found a folder - inside it were photographs, names, and detailed notes on people Yukti had been following.
The names were all criminals. But why was Yukti keeping track of them? And why had she been so secretive about it? The more Avani read, the more confused and frightened she became. She realized that Yukti wasn't just keeping secrets - she was leading a dangerous double life.
That night, Yukti returned home after an exhausting day. She barely had time to change before Avani confronted her.
"Big sister, what is this?" Avani demanded, holding the folder up. Her voice shook with a mixture of anger and fear.
Yukti froze, her heart sinking. She hadn't expected Avani to find the folder - she thought she had hidden everything well. But now, there was no going back. She had to make a choice.
"Avani, I - " Yukti started, but Avani interrupted.
"What are you doing? Why are you tracking criminals?" Avani's voice cracked with emotion. "What have you gotten yourself into?"
Yukti's mind raced. She couldn't afford to lose her composure now. If Avani found out everything, it would be the end of her secret life. "I'm doing this to protect us, Avani. To protect the family."
"Protect us? By getting involved in this dangerous world?" Avani's eyes were wide with disbelief. "I don't understand. This isn't who you are."
Yukti took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "You don't know everything, Avani. I've been hunting these criminals because they're a threat to us. To everyone. I never wanted to involve you in this."
Avani's expression softened, but the fear in her eyes didn't fade. "Then why keep it a secret? Why lie to us?"
Yukti felt the weight of her sister's words. She had been hiding the truth for so long, and now it was threatening to tear her apart. She couldn't lose Avani, but she couldn't stop what she had started either.
"I'm sorry, Avani. But I can't stop now. If I do, they'll come after us. You won't understand, but I have to do this." Yukti's voice was quiet but firm.
Avani didn't know what to say. Her mind was still reeling from everything she had just learned. She didn't know what her sister had become, but she couldn't ignore the fact that Yukti was in too deep.
The weight of her discoveries was too much for Avani to bear alone. That night, she gathered her older brother, Daniel, and her two older sisters, Olivia and Allena. With her heart pounding, Avani poured out everything she had learned about Yukti - about the secret list of criminals, the dangerous game Yukti was playing, and the strange man named Edward who seemed to have a hold over her sister.
"Yukti's not who we think she is," Avani began, her voice shaking. "She's been tracking criminals, Jinwoo. She's involved in something... dark."
Olivia looked at Avani with a mix of disbelief and concern. "Are you sure?" Olivia's tone was skeptical, but there was a flicker of worry in her eyes.
Daniel, the eldest and the one who always kept a calm and collected demeanor, listened carefully. The more Avani explained, the darker his expression grew. "If Yukti's involved with criminals, we need to get her out of that world. We can't let her destroy herself."
He turned to his sisters, his gaze unwavering. "We have to find a way to get her away from whoever is manipulating her. We'll protect her, no matter what it takes."
Avani felt a mixture of relief and fear. She wasn't alone anymore. The night had fallen dark and still. The streets were quiet, save for the soft hum of the wind through the trees. Yukti stood at the edge of the alley, hidden in the shadows. Her eyes were fixed on the man ahead of her - a kidnapper, a man responsible for abducting children from vulnerable families. He had been on her radar for over a week. Yukti had been watching his every move, tracking his interactions, gathering every shred of evidence she could. Edward had confirmed it - this man was a threat, a man who would stop at nothing to harm innocent lives.
As Yukti observed the kidnapper, she could see that he was about to make his move. He was carrying a young girl, no older than six, in his arms. The child was struggling, but he was too strong for her to escape. Yukti's heart clenched in anger. This man had to be stopped.
Edward had already warned her that this was no ordinary criminal. "He's not just a kidnapper, Yukti. He's involved in something far darker." His voice had been grave when he had spoken to her, urging her to make him her next target. Yukti had taken the time to watch him, to gather more intel. She'd seen the way he operated, how he would abduct children and send them to dangerous people. It had sickened her, but it had also made her more determined to stop him. After 2 days,Yukti was swift and silent as she approached the kidnapper. He didn't see her coming. In one fluid motion, Yukti pulled him into the shadows, the girl's cries drowned out by the sudden chaos. With a sharp movement, she forced him to the ground, his head hitting the pavement with a sickening thud. He tried to fight back, but Yukti was too fast - too skilled.
She pressed a cloth soaked with chloroform over his mouth, watching as his resistance slowly faded. Within moments, he was unconscious.
Yukti dragged him to a nearby abandoned warehouse, where she had set up the scene. She carefully tied him up to a wooden beam, ensuring that he wouldn't be able to escape. Then, she waited. The tension was unbearable, but Yukti had learned to keep her composure. She knew what she had to do, and it would be done with precision.
She stood before him, the light from a single overhead bulb casting long shadows across his face. He was beginning to stir, but Yukti was prepared. She approached him slowly, her face cold and determined.
"You've hurt enough innocent people," Yukti whispered, almost to herself, as she reached for the rope. The man was still dazed, his eyes struggling to focus. But it wouldn't matter. It was too late for him now.
With a quick motion, Yukti tied a noose around his neck, securing it tightly. The criminal's eyes widened in realization, but there was no way out for him. He had already sealed his own fate. In the dim light, Yukti took her time preparing the scene. She made sure the noose was positioned in a way that would make it look like the man had committed suicide. This was the most important part - no one could know that she was behind his death. It had to look like he had taken his own life.
Yukti adjusted the knot and then stepped back, taking a deep breath. She needed to make sure that every detail was perfect. With one final motion, she kicked over a chair, sending it crashing to the ground beneath the man's feet. His body dangled from the rope, limp and lifeless.
The scene was flawless.
It was now impossible to tell whether the kidnapper had been murdered or whether he had really taken his own life. But Yukti knew. This was her work - this was her justice. She had made sure to tie everything together, leaving behind just enough evidence to confuse any investigator.
But that wasn't the end of it. There was one final step Yukti needed to take. Yukti pulled out a small vial of blood from her pocket. It was from the earlier fight with the police. She had made sure that the blood from the officers was still fresh, and she had taken enough to leave behind a single, clean print.
She carefully tipped the vial, letting a drop of blood fall onto a contract paper she had prepared earlier. It was a contract that bound her to Edward, a silent agreement between them. She spread the blood, ensuring that the drop would form a thumbprint - one that would never be traced back to her.
Her thumbprint.
With a steady hand, she pressed her thumb down on the paper, marking it as her own. The ink, now smeared with the blood from the fight, formed a perfect print. The contract was complete. There would be no turning back now. Yukti stood over the body of the kidnapper, the weight of the moment sinking in. The scene was set, the evidence in place. She had done what needed to be done. But as she stood there, looking at the lifeless man, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. The world she had stepped into was starting to close in on her. She had made enemies, and she was getting too close to the truth.
When she leaves that area, she had tracked her target - a notorious criminal who had been evading capture for years. The time had come, and she had no intention of letting anyone stop her. Her mind was focused solely on the task at hand.
But as she and Edward approached the area where the target was hiding, something unexpected happened. A group of four police officers, who had been surveilling the area, spotted them. The officers were quick to react, realizing that something wasn't right. Yukti's heart raced as she saw them drawing closer.
She couldn't afford to let them catch her. If they knew what she had been up to, everything would come crashing down. There was no choice, there is only one option that is to kill them. Without a moment's hesitation, Yukti acted. She pulled out her weapon, ready to take down the officers before they could alert anyone. Edward, with his otherworldly power, transformed into a large, menacing dog-like creature. His eyes glowed with intensity as he lunged at two of the officers, using his supernatural strength to overpower them.
The officers struggled, but Edward's grip was unyielding. With a swift move, he snapped their necks, leaving two of the police officers motionless on the ground. Yukti, grimacing with pain at the sight, quickly dealt with the other two officers. She had no choice. There was no way out now.
The battle left them with little time to think. Edward had taken care of two officers, but the rest of the team was still a threat. Yukti knew that if they left the scene without covering their tracks, they would leave behind evidence. Thumbprints.
The thumbprints. The two remaining officers had been injured in a way that left their thumbprints almost unrecognizable. There was no way the police could use them for identification. Yukti made a quick decision, her mind working fast.
"We need to leave." Yukti whispered urgently to Edward. She didn't care about the bloodshed now. Her goal was to finish the mission and disappear before anyone realized what had happened. Yukti sat in her room, her hands trembling slightly as she looked down at her phone. The glow of the screen illuminated her face, casting shadows that seemed to match the dark thoughts swirling in her mind. She had just eliminated another target, a child abductor who had evaded the authorities for years. The feeling of satisfaction coursed through her veins. She had done it. She had delivered justice.
But it wasn't just justice she had delivered - it was a thrill. A dark, consuming thrill that seemed to awaken something deep within her. She could feel the power, the rush of control. The world she was stepping into was dangerous, but it made her feel alive in ways she had never experienced before.
"This is what I've become," she thought, a small smile tugging at her lips. "A force to be reckoned with." Edward, standing in the shadows of her room, observed her with an evil grin. His presence was almost palpable, his dark energy filling the room. His eyes gleamed with amusement as he watched Yukti's transformation unfold before him. "You've done well, Yukti." His voice was low, his words laced with a dark satisfaction. "Every soul we touch, every life we claim, adds to the power within us. You're becoming something... magnificent."
Yukti's thoughts began to align with Edward's words. The thrill, the exhilaration - it was intoxicating. And the more she succumbed to it, the more she realized how far she had fallen into this new world. "I can feel it," she thought, a cold shiver running down her spine. "I am no longer the person I once was. I am something darker. Something stronger." Suddenly, the door to Yukti's room creaked open. Her three sisters - Avani, Olivia, and Allena - entered, followed by Daniel, Yukti's older brother. They exchanged worried glances, sensing that something wasn't right. The atmosphere in the room was heavy, and the air itself felt thick with tension.
"Yukti, what's going on?" Avani asked cautiously, stepping forward. Her voice trembled with concern, but Yukti couldn't bring herself to answer. Edward's presence loomed in the room like a suffocating fog, and Yukti couldn't risk revealing anything to them.
The dark figure stood silently in the corner, his eyes burning with an unsettling intensity, watching her every move. Yukti's mind raced, her emotions torn between the love she felt for her family and the dangerous allure of the power that Edward offered. "They can never know," she thought, the thought slicing through her like a knife. Avani and Olivia exchanged a worried look, sensing that Yukti was hiding something. "Yukti, please, if there's something wrong, you have to tell us." Olivia's voice was filled with worry, but Yukti, overwhelmed by her dark thoughts and Edward's influence, couldn't bring herself to speak.
Her mind twisted with a sudden idea - an evil thought that chilled her to the bone. "I can't tell them the truth. But I can make them believe something else."
Yukti looked up at her sisters, tears beginning to well in her eyes. "I can't tell you," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I? I don't know what's happening. But something? something evil is here, and I think it's controlling me." She wiped her tears away, forcing a vulnerable expression onto her face.
In her panic, she quickly typed out a message on her phone, pretending to send it to someone. The message read: "There is an evil spirit here, I can feel its presence. I don't know what to do. I'll tell you everything tomorrow at the temple. Please pray for me." With a quick tap, she sent it - and then immediately deleted it, ensuring that Edward wouldn't see the message. Her fingers trembled as she pressed the delete button, a sense of dread creeping into her. Just as Yukti had hoped, Edward hadn't seen the message. His attention had been diverted as Yukti played the role of the terrified sister, hiding her true intentions. But as her family stood there, the tension in the room grew unbearable.
Daniel, her older brother, stepped forward with an intense expression. "Yukti, are you telling us the truth? Or do you want to get hurt?" His voice was stern, and his eyes burned with concern. His protective nature had always been apparent, and it was clear to him that something was terribly wrong with his sister.
Yukti hesitated, the internal conflict raging in her mind. But before she could answer, her younger brother Danny stepped in, trying to diffuse the situation. "Daniel, don't push her. We don't know what's going on with Yukti, but maybe it's something we can fix. Let's just give her space."
Daniel shot Danny a glare but reluctantly stepped back. "Fine. But Yukti, you need to talk to us. We're family. Don't shut us out." The room fell silent as Yukti's thoughts raced. Her plan was working. She had manipulated the situation to make them believe she was simply haunted by an evil spirit, not realizing the true evil that lay within her actions.
Danny, sensing that the tension had dissipated, gently urged his family to leave. "Let Yukti have some time to think," he suggested. "We'll talk tomorrow, okay? Let's go to the temple, and maybe it'll help her."
One by one, they left the room, the door clicking softly behind them. Yukti sat in the silence of her room, her heart racing as she processed the events. The seeds of doubt were planted in her family's minds, and they would be heading to the temple the next day, believing she was struggling with some supernatural force. But Yukti knew the truth - it wasn't an evil spirit she was fighting. It was her own darkness. In the Danny room, his older brother asked him"why, she almost going to tell us, why you let us out the room". Danny show them a message of Yukti and said "because some evil spirit is their so if she tells us anything she have to pay for it. Everyone became slience. Yukti had always known that Edward, the devilish force she had bound herself to, could never enter the sacred Hindu temple near her home. It was a place of immense power, dedicated to Mahadev, the Hindu god of destruction and transformation. The temple, bathed in divine energy, was beyond the reach of any malevolent force, which is why she had chosen to tell her family the truth there, albeit in a distorted form.
Standing at the temple gates, Yukti took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her actions. She had led her family to believe that she had made a terrible pact - one that would condemn her soul to Edward if she didn't deliver twenty souls. Her voice trembled as she recounted the deal, casting the devil as an all-powerful being, a threat not just to her but to everyone she loved.
"I had no choice," Yukti told them, her eyes filled with a mixture of guilt and fear. "If I don't fulfill the contract, my soul will be his. He's already claimed so many others, and now he's threatening to take me... if I don't give him more." Her words echoed in the air as her family stood frozen, processing the information. The temple's walls seemed to hum with energy, amplifying Yukti's tale of horror. But Olivia, her older sister, wasn't fooled.
"You've lost your mind, Yukti," Olivia scolded her. Her voice shook with frustration, but the anger in her eyes was undeniable. "This is insane. Why would you ever agree to something so monstrous?"
Allena, Yukti's second sister, was visibly disturbed but tried to understand. "It's hard to believe, but... is this even possible? Is it true?"
Danny, Yukti's younger brother, tried to calm the tension. "Getting angry won't help. We need to focus on freeing Yukti from whatever this is," he said firmly, though his heart ached for his sister.
Avani, Yukti's third sister, was deep in thought. Then, almost absentmindedly, she spoke up. "My friend's father is a priest at a church. Maybe he can help..." But Yukti, realizing that the devil's presence was already everywhere, quickly interjected. "No, you can't do that. Edward can't touch this temple - there's energy here, divine protection." She paused, her voice dropping to a near whisper. "But he can touch you. If you all try to get involved, he'll kill you all. You're better off staying away from me now."
Her voice held a chilling finality, and though her family looked at her with concern, Yukti could sense Edward's presence growing stronger, pressing her every thought. It was too late for them. Too late for her.
Later that evening, Yukti drove in her car, her mind swirling with conflicting emotions. She had tried to push away the dark thoughts, but they kept creeping back, mocking her. Edward's voice echoed in her mind, promising her power and eternal life if she just followed his will. It felt like an endless tug-of-war between her humanity and the dark forces trying to claim her.
As Yukti parked her car, a loud crash echoed through the air. Before she could react, a truck slammed into the back of her vehicle, sending her car into a dangerous spin. The impact was severe, but miraculously, Yukti wasn't seriously injured.
The truck driver, shocked by the crash, was frozen in place, unsure of what to do. But Yukti knew exactly what was happening - Edward had intervened.
The moment she was pulled from her wrecked car, Edward's dark energy enveloped her. He had been watching over her, ensuring she wasn't harmed. With a wave of his hand, he made sure she was transported to a nearby hospital. But even the sterile, bright lights of the hospital couldn't deter his influence. "Take her to Room 203," Edward's voice whispered in Yukti's ear, his tone eerily calm. "Don't worry. No one will see us."
Yukti, still dazed from the accident, found herself walking in a trance-like state toward Room 203 of the hospital. The hallways seemed to stretch on forever, yet she felt no fear. Edward was always there, controlling her every move, his power insidious and overwhelming.
When they reached the room, Edward gestured for her to sit. The room was dimly lit, with an air of eerie stillness hanging in the atmosphere. Without a word, Yukti sat on the sofa beside him, her thoughts fragmented. The soft hum of the hospital's machinery was the only sound that filled the space between them. In the room Yukti said "Aww, I survived" and the devil looked at her then laughed and said "Look carefully this is a haunted area, this is the Edward power of because this is why you survived, you are here just because of him otherwise you death even you already death but I bring your soul again in your body, and about the accident that that happened, Edward will give details about it later but tell me when you give the rest of the soul, do it quickly." After this the devil disappeared. Edward smiled, an unsettling, evil grin that stretched far too wide for comfort. "The accident you were in... that's just the beginning. The truck crash, the way it happened - it was no accident." He paused, watching Yukti carefully, knowing the effect his words would have. "The details of the crash... I'll tell you soon enough. But first, let me tell you something else."
Yukti's breath caught in her throat. Her heart hammered in her chest. Was this another twisted game of his? Or had her world really fallen this far?
"Your so-called boyfriend, the one you broke up with three years ago," Edward continued, his voice laced with venom. "He's the one who's been jealous of your success. He's been watching you, and when he saw you with me tonight, he decided to strike."
A chill ran through Yukti's veins. She remembered him - the man she had loved, the one who had caused her so much pain when they ended their relationship. But to think that he had turned into something like this... "He took a child," Edward continued, "and forced him into that truck. He used the child to set up your accident, hoping you would die. But you survived, and now the police will be investigating. You'll need to handle that, Yukti. You need to be smart about it. Don't let them find any trace of what really happened. The truth will ruin you."
Yukti was in shock. The truck accident, the child's death - it was all connected to him, the man from her past. The grief, the destruction, all of it was unfolding before her eyes. She had been the target all along, but this new twist left her paralyzed.
Edward's Revelation
"This game... it's not just about you anymore, Yukti. The people around you are involved, and they will be dragged down with you." Edward's eyes gleamed with dark satisfaction as he leaned closer to her. "You've become part of a much bigger plan, and now the consequences are starting to show." Yukti felt as if the ground beneath her was crumbling. The boy, the child who had died - he was just another pawn in this twisted game. But what hurt the most was that her ex-boyfriend, the one she thought had been long gone from her life, was now a part of this nightmare.
Edward stood up, his figure towering over Yukti as he spoke with finality, "Now, the police will come for you. It was a big accident, Yukti. They won't believe the truth. You'll have to cover your tracks, or they'll find out what's really been going on. You know what you have to do."
He turned toward the door, his form becoming shrouded in shadow. "Remember, I'll be watching. You're not alone in this... I'm with you." Edward, with his dark power, continued to manipulate Yukti, telling her to cover her tracks or risk getting caught. The police were investigating the crash, and they would never believe the truth. Yukti was now trapped in a web of lies and deception, with her past and present colliding in a deadly game.
As Yukti sat in her car, contemplating her next move, she knew there was no escape from the darkness. Her ex-boyfriend was involved, and the truth was out of her control. Her family would never understand, and the police would soon come for her.
In the end, Yukti realized that her life, once her own, was now completely under Edward's control. She had to keep lying, manipulating, and destroying anyone who got too close. Yukti's blood boiled with anger as the truth about her ex-boyfriend's involvement in the child's death settled in her mind. The man she once loved, the one who had betrayed her, was now a part of the dark game Edward had orchestrated. Yukti could no longer hold back the rage that churned inside her.
Her next target was clear: her ex-boyfriend, the one responsible for sending an innocent child to his death to trap her. She could feel the fire within her, burning hotter with every passing second. The plan would be perfect. No one would suspect a thing.
The Setup
Yukti knew she had to be meticulous. Her ex-boyfriend was careful, always watching his back, always alert. But Yukti had learned from Edward - she was becoming a master of manipulation and deceit.
The plan was simple: she would lure him into a false sense of security, make him believe that she wanted to reconcile. They would meet at a quiet, secluded location - a place where no one would be around. It had to be just the two of them.
Yukti made contact with him, playing the role of the victim, the heartbroken ex-lover wanting closure. She told him she was ready to move on, to forgive him. It was all an act, a game. She knew his ego, his desires, and she would use them to her advantage.
The Execution
On the night of their meeting, Yukti arrived at the location, a dimly lit caf tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. She waited, watching the door for his arrival. As soon as he walked in, she put on a soft smile, masking the storm brewing inside her.
They sat down, exchanged pleasantries, but Yukti could feel the tension. He was waiting for her to let her guard down, but that was never going to happen.
As they spoke, Yukti subtly manipulated the conversation, drawing him in, making him believe that things could go back to how they were. She could see his arrogance grow as he leaned in closer, thinking he had won her back.
But Yukti had something else in mind.
The Perfect Kill
The moment was right. The timing was perfect. With one swift motion, Yukti stood up, grabbing the glass of water in front of her. She threw it in his face, momentarily blinding him. In that instant, she struck - her hand, concealed in a specially designed glove, slid a small, sharp needle into his neck.
The poison worked almost instantly, sending him into shock. His face twisted in confusion and pain as he tried to stand, but it was too late. Yukti watched him fall, her heart pounding in her chest, but she felt no remorse.
As he lay there gasping for breath, Yukti reached into her pocket and pulled out a small vial of ink. With precision, she dipped her thumb into the ink and pressed it onto the contract she had signed with Edward - her final, permanent mark. It was a symbol of her loyalty to the devil and her place in this dark world.
Covering Her Tracks
With the job done, Yukti quickly wiped down the glass and the table, making sure no evidence remained. She pulled out a small cloth to clean the surface of the needle, slipping it back into her bag.
The police would eventually find him, but they would believe it was a robbery gone wrong, or perhaps a victim of a drug overdose. No one would ever connect Yukti to the crime. She had learned how to cover her tracks - how to be invisible.
As she walked away from the scene, her ex-boyfriend's lifeless body left behind, Yukti couldn't help but feel a cold satisfaction. She had played the perfect move, and no one would ever suspect her.
Yukti's world had changed forever. After killing her ex-boyfriend, she felt no remorse, only satisfaction. She had done it so perfectly that no one would suspect her. The police were baffled, and the case remained unsolved, but Yukti knew it was just a matter of time before the next target emerged.
Edward's Control
Edward, ever watchful, had noticed Yukti's growing power and influence. He reminded her that she was still bound by the contract they had signed. The more souls she claimed, the closer she came to completing her dark task. But Yukti, now fully under Edward's influence, began to question her own humanity. Yukti was weary. The constant bloodshed, the deals with Edward, and the never-ending darkness were taking a toll on her mind. She was no longer the woman she once was. Every step she took was a step further into the abyss. But in the deepest corners of her mind, a dangerous thought began to take root: she wanted to become the greatest demon of them all. The ruler of Hell itself. She knew Edward was watching her every move, and so she kept her desires hidden. "One final task, and I'll be free," she whispered to herself. "I'll be the devil's true heir. I'll control everything." This thought gave her the strength to keep going. But she also knew that for now, she had to keep up appearances - especially with her family. And suddenly her small brother Dayun enter the room and said "it's a brother-sister night out, wanna join us but don't call your assistance in this party please" Yukti replied "ok!" Yukti tell Edward "it's a brother- sister night out, so can you please stay here". Edward, sensing her growing power, agreed. "Fine," he said, a dark smile tugging at his lips. "You'll finish your task soon. But enjoy your moment while it lasts." Yukti's heart raced, but for the first time in a long time, she felt a small bit of relief. Edward allowed her to go, trusting that she would fulfill her dark destiny soon enough.
Yukti climbed into the car with her siblings. The evening was peaceful, almost serene, in stark contrast to the storm raging inside her. They chatted, they laughed, but Yukti's mind was elsewhere. She wasn't truly present. Her thoughts drifted to the final task that awaited her - her ultimate ascension. As the car neared the restaurant, Yukti felt a strange sense of calm. For a moment, she wasn't the demon's apprentice, the killer of her own past. She was just a sister, a daughter, trying to reclaim some normalcy. But Yukti knew better. This was a fleeting illusion. She would play her role tonight, but when the time came, she would leave it all behind. She would become the greatest devil the world had ever known. They arrived at the restaurant, and her siblings helped her out of the car, smiling as they entered the warm, inviting atmosphere. The soft hum of conversation and the clinking of plates contrasted with the cold, empty place in Yukti's heart. The restaurant had become a battleground of emotions. Yukti, her family, and the strangers around them, caught in the heat of the moment, were suddenly thrust into chaos. It started with a simple accident - water spilled on a young man, but it quickly escalated.
The young man, furious, stood up, his voice sharp and accusatory. "What are you doing here if you can't even serve properly?" he shouted at the waitress. The poor girl, trembling, apologized profusely, but the young man was relentless, his anger flaring up with every word.
Yukti, ever the mediator, approached the situation with calmness. "Hey, it was just an accident. Please, let her go," she said, trying to ease the tension. But the young man didn't seem to care. He glared at her, sizing her up. "Why are you getting involved?" he sneered. "What will you do about it?"
Yukti's mind raced. I could kill him right now, she thought. But I need his blood for the contract - only then can I claim my place as the greatest devil. She clenched her fists, but before she could act, her brother Daniel intervened. "It was a mistake, let it go," he said, stepping between the two of them. "Let's all just enjoy the meal."
The young man gave Yukti one last glare, his pride bruised, and reluctantly backed down. However, as he and his friends turned away, one of them whispered something in his ear. The young man's expression shifted, and with a flash of anger, he grabbed Avani's hand. "Fine," he said. "I'll forgive her, but only if she comes with us." Avani's younger brother, Danny, instantly stepped in. "Let go of my sister," he said, his voice firm. But before anyone could react, a fight broke out. Yukti tried to keep control of the situation, but the chaos intensified, and the tension in the air became suffocating.
Suddenly, someone pushed Yukti from behind, causing her to lose her balance. She stumbled, feeling her heart race in fear. What if I can't get out of this? she thought. What if I'm trapped here? Panic gripped her chest. In that moment, Yukti realized she was alone - Edward wasn't there to protect her.
Desperation flooded her mind, and without thinking, she called out, "Maharaj! Maharaj!" In an instant, everything changed. The noise of the restaurant disappeared, and the world around her shifted. The walls crumbled, and the air grew heavy with heat.
Before her stood a throne, and sitting upon it, the Devil himself - a figure clad in dark robes, with a crown of fire upon his head, watching her intently. Yukti's heart pounded as she realized where she was. She had crossed a line. She had called for him, and now she was in Hell, standing before the very entity she had once tried to control.
"Yukti," the Devil spoke, his voice deep and resonant. "You've summoned me again. You almost died we will meet in your next birth. Yukti said "No,listen, let me given you at least 10 souls in my this life. If I die now, you'll get nothing. But if I live, I'll make sure to give you the remaining souls, and more." The devil chuckled, impressed by Yukti's spirit. "You're right, my dear. Killing you would be a waste. I need you alive, and I'm willing to make a deal with you."
Yukti raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What kind of deal?"
"I'll spare your life, and give you the power to defeat your enemies," the devil said, a sly grin spreading across his face. "But in return, I want 25 souls, not 20. And you'll have to give them to me willingly."
Yukti hesitated for a moment, weighing her options. She knew that refusing the devil's offer would mean certain death, but accepting it would mean sacrificing more innocent lives.
"Fine," she said finally, her voice firm. "I accept your deal. The devil take her in another place where he give her a glass, and filled it his blood.
Yukti's eyes widened in disgust as she realized what it was.
"What is this?" she asked, trying to hide her revulsion.
The devil laughed and said what do you think i gave you a orange juice or coffee.Drink it otherwise your brother going to die"
Yukti hesitated, but she knew she had no choice. She took a deep breath, and downed the liquid in one gulp.
As soon as the liquid touched her lips, Yukti felt a surge of energy course through her veins. She knew that she had just sealed her fate, and that her life would never be the same again. As Yukti drank the glass of blood, she felt the surge of power coursing through her veins, unlike anything she had ever experienced before. The darkness within her grew stronger, consuming her, but at the same time, it made her unstoppable. The world around her seemed to fade, and the room blurred as her senses heightened. Her eyes glowed with an eerie intensity, signaling that she had crossed a line from which there was no return.
Her little sister Avani, sitting in the corner, watched with a mix of fear and disbelief. She knew Yukti was different now - her transformation was undeniable. The rest of Yukti's family and the five young men who had been harassing them quickly realized that the once gentle Yukti was now a force to be reckoned with.
When Yukti stood up and moved toward the group of men, her steps were filled with a deadly grace. The men, seeing the cold fury in her eyes, tried to react, but they were no match for her newfound strength. Yukti took them down one by one with swift, brutal efficiency. She didn't hesitate, and she didn't care for the consequences. She was no longer the person they once knew; she was a being of pure vengeance.
As she fought, her mind raced. She realized this power came with more than just strength - it gave her control over the very essence of life and death. Her sibiling, once so dear to her, now seemed insignificant compared to the power she wielded. But a part of her - deep inside - felt the weight of what she had become. Yukti could see the fear in Avani's eyes, the horror in her brothers' faces. They didn't recognize her anymore. And that hurt.
She finished the battle swiftly, the five men lying unconscious on the ground, trembling in fear. The room fell silent, except for Yukti's heavy breathing. She turned to face her siblings, who were watching her from a distance. The fight was over, and as they were heading back home from the restaurant, Yukti's older brother, Olivia, couldn't help but ask, "How did you suddenly get so much power?" Yukti, trying to keep the situation under control, calmly replied, "I don't know how the power came, Olivia. But I'll tell you why it came - because they touched my little sister, and also because they hurt my brothers and sisters. And Edward won't let me rest until it's finished." As they approached the church, the car stopped in front. They all got out and entered the church, where the Father was waiting. He looked at Yukti and her family, then spoke gravely, "So, is this the girl who made a deal with the devil?" Her siblings nodded, and together they answered, "Yes, this is her." Yukti, trying to ease the tension, smiled and said, "Father, I was just trying to figure things out. Honestly, I didn't know everything would happen like this. When it was time to make a wish, I made it. I didn't understand fully, but now, I realize what I've done. Please forgive me." The Father sighed deeply, his face reflecting the burden of his own past. "I had a daughter once," he began. "She read a book called the Devil Bible, which she found in a hidden room in a library in Sweden. She became so consumed by it that she made a deal with the devil. The book was so powerful that she couldn't finish her part of the deal, and one day, she left me a letter. It was the day of her death - she died in a car accident, and in the letter, she begged me to save her soul from the devil. If you can free my daughter's soul, I'll give you the book."
Olivia, overhearing the conversation, was filled with concern. "So now, she's becoming one of them. And if you give her the book, who knows what she'll do?" The Father looked at Yukti with intense seriousness. "Promise me, you won't misuse this power. If I find out you do, I'll have no choice but to stop you myself."
Yukti took a moment to think, and then answered firmly, "I'm tired. I want this to end. Please, give me the book."
The Father nodded and went to retrieve the book from his room. When he returned, he handed it to Yukti. "But there's a problem. No one - priests, tantric practitioners, or pandits - has been able to understand this language. It's a language of the devil, and no one has cracked its code."
Yukti took the book in her hands and smiled, a glint of understanding in her eyes. "I can understand it," she said softly. "But not much. Give me some time. Tonight, I need the church to be sealed. Make a boundary around it so that Edward can't enter. I'll need everyone to stay here tonight."
The Father did as Yukti asked, drawing a protective line outside the church to keep any evil forces at bay. That evening, as the group settled inside, Allena spoke up, "Our plan worked. We're safe here."
Olivia agreed, "Yes, we're protected." Danny added, "I even made sure the boundary was around our family's rooms, so no harm would come to us."
Yukti looked at them all, realization dawning on her. "So, all of this was a plan?" she asked. Avani smiled knowingly. "You couldn't have planned it all on your own, Yukti. The restaurant scene, the fight, everything - it was all to see if Edward would come to your rescue. When you suddenly got up and started attacking, he knew he had to intervene. So, we acted accordingly."
Allena added, "Tonight, send him a message telling him you'll be here in the morning. He'll hesitate and wait, and by the time morning comes, we'll be ready."
Olivia urged, "Whatever you need to do, do it fast. We have tonight."
The group retreated into their rooms, and the church, now empty and still, became their safe haven. Yukti sat down, focusing on the book in front of her, deciphering its contents. Hour after hour, she poured over the pages, trying to unlock the mysteries of the Devil Bible. She smiled to herself as she noticed that the Father's daughter had written helpful notes in the margins, making it easier for her to understand.
By morning, after a long night of study, Yukti looked up from the book with a satisfied expression. Her family gathered around her, eager for answers. "Did you find something?" Olivia asked. Yukti smiled, her eyes gleaming with a newfound certainty. "Yes, I found it."
She stood up, stretching. "But before we do anything, I need to sleep. Give me four hours. I'll start working right after that."
Olivia raised an eyebrow. "Wait, how did you all manage to shower and change clothes? Where did the clothes come from?"
Yukti chuckled, shaking her head. "Did you all bring these for me too?"
Olivia nodded. "Yes, we brought them for you before we went to the restaurant."
Yukti took a bath and ate something quickly, then lay down to rest for four hours, knowing that once she woke up, everything would change. The time to finish the work she had started had come. Yukti finally had a way out - at least, that's what she wanted to believe. The Devil's Bible contained secrets beyond human understanding, and now that she had access to it, the path ahead became clearer. Her family had planned everything perfectly, proving that they were willing to do anything to bring her back. But the question remained: Was Yukti even willing to be saved anymore? After four hours of deep sleep, Yukti woke up, feeling the lingering effects of the power she had absorbed from the Devil's blood. The moment she opened her eyes, her siblings gathered around her. "All set?" Olivia asked, arms crossed, waiting for an answer. Yukti stretched and smirked. "I know what to do now. But I need all of you to follow my lead, no matter what happens." Avani looked hesitant. "Yukti, are you sure about this? You're not hiding anything, right?" Yukti avoided eye contact, then sighed. "I'm sure." The plan was simple yet extremely dangerous. They had to use the knowledge from the Devil's Bible to break not only Yukti's contract but also free the Father's daughter's soul. The ritual required a pure offering - something Yukti still didn't fully understand.
That evening, the church glowed under the candlelight as Yukti prepared the ritual circle. She traced symbols from the book on the floor, whispering incantations in the Devil's language. Her siblings stood by, watching, nervous but trusting her. The air grew heavy. The temperature dropped. And then, from the shadows, The devil appeared. "Yukti," he said with a smirk, "I knew you would try something like this." Yukti turned, unfazed. "And yet, you still came. That's what I wanted." The devil eyes narrowed. "You're making a mistake." The air grew heavy as the devil appeared, his crimson eyes blazing with rage. Shadows twisted around him, the temperature dropping instantly."You?" he hissed, his voice echoing unnaturally. "What do you want now, Yukti?" Yukti met his gaze without fear. "I want to break my contract. And I want you to release the soul of the father's daughter." The devil let out a cold, sharp laugh. "You truly amuse me. Do you think I would do that? You signed the contract. There's no escape." But Yukti's lips curled into a smirk. "You know the rules better than anyone. The one who creates the contract is the only one who can break it." A flicker of uncertainty passed through the devil's expression. His claws twitched. Yukti could feel the air shift - he was thinking. Calculating. Then, after a long pause, he exhaled sharply. "Fine. Your contract is void. And the girl's soul? she will be reborn. Now, let me go."
Silence stretched between them.
Yukti's smirk deepened. "Did I ever say that I was the one who created the contract?"
The room tensed. The devil's eyes narrowed, his mind racing. "What??"
Olivia stepped forward, her voice steady. "The contract wasn't made by Yukti. It was created by the father's daughter. And she no longer exists in this world."
The devil's expression twisted into something monstrous. His claws clenched, his breath turning ragged. "No? no, that's not possible!" His voice cracked with something that almost sounded like fear.
The priest stepped forward, his eyes filled with unshaken resolve. He raised his hands, chanting in a deep, powerful voice. Holy words rippled through the air like thunder. A golden light erupted from the church walls, the sacred energy weaving through the room like fire.
The devil howled as his body contorted, black veins spreading across his skin. "You? you tricked me!" he roared. Flames erupted from beneath him, consuming his form. His screams pierced the night, his body writhing as the holy power tore him apart.
The ground beneath them trembled. The air grew impossibly bright - until, in a final explosion of light, the devil was gone.
Yukti stood there, breathing heavily. It was over. The nightmare had ended.
But deep inside her, she knew - this was only the beginning. Something wasn't right.
Her body felt? different. Stronger. More aware. Like a presence still lurked inside her, whispering in a language she couldn't understand.
Olivia placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's over, Yukti. We did it."
At the night where everyone thinking everything is going to normal but on the other hand, Yukti locked herself inside a dark, empty room of the church, away from everyone.
Only a single candle flickered weakly, casting long shadows on the walls. She sat on the cold stone floor, the ancient Devil's Bible resting in her lap. The book's pages pulsed with an eerie glow, almost as if they were alive. Her fingers traced the symbols, her breath shallow.
Then, she whispered to herself, her voice trembling yet filled with an eerie excitement. "That devil might be gone... but his blood is still inside me." She glanced at her hand, turning it over slowly. A faint black vein pulsed under her skin, the remnants of the devil's power still flowing through her veins. Her lips curled into a smirk. "And this power? it's unimaginable." Her fingers gripped the book tighter, feeling the energy surge within its cursed pages. "With the power of his blood? and this Devil's Bible?" she whispered, eyes gleaming in the dim light. She took a deep breath, her heartbeat slowing as a new realization dawned upon her. "I will become the second greatest devil of the underworld." Her nails dug into the leather cover of the book. "And on Earth?" she exhaled, a sinister smile playing on her lips, "I will become its greatest devil." The candle flickered wildly, as if the air itself reacted to her words. And in that moment, Yukti knew - this was just the beginning.

Her next target was clear: her ex-boyfriend, the one responsible for sending an innocent child to his death to trap her. She could feel the fire within her, burning hotter with every passing second. The plan would be perfect. No one would suspect a thing.
