Benny loved sandwiches. He could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if his mom let him. One day, he had an idea.
“I’m gonna make the biggest sandwich in the world!” he announced to his dog, Pickles, who wagged his tail like it was the best idea ever.
Benny got to work. He spread peanut butter on one slice of bread, then added jelly. “Not bad,” he said, “but it needs more!”
He opened the fridge and pulled out everything he could find—cheese, pickles, leftover spaghetti, even a slice of cake. Pickles barked like he approved.
The sandwich got taller and taller. Benny climbed onto a chair to keep stacking. Soon, it was so big that Benny couldn’t even see the top.
“Perfect!” Benny said, proud of his work. But when he tried to lift the sandwich, it wouldn’t budge. He pushed, pulled, and even used a broom to try to move it, but nothing worked.
“Pickles, I think I messed up,” Benny said, flopping onto the floor. Pickles wagged his tail and gave Benny a look.
“Wait a second!” Benny said. “I made it too big! I should’ve thought this through!”
Benny decided to take the sandwich apart, one bite at a time. He shared pieces with Pickles, his mom, his neighbors, and even the mailman. Everyone loved it, and soon, the giant sandwich was gone.
That night, Benny told Pickles, “I learned something today. Bigger isn’t always better. Sometimes, you just need a sandwich you can actually eat!”
Pickles barked in agreement. From that day on, Benny made sandwiches that were just the right size—and always remembered to share.
The End
