Esther loved life. She would talk to people and try to get to know them despite their backgrounds.

One day she was out for a walk, she got a call on her mobile. The call sounded different. It was her friends Imelda and Paul.

Paul had met Imelda in a shop near Esther's house. Paul started the conversation:

"Did you know that the electricity is gone in your house?" I will return and go to bed early so."

Imelda,replied: "There is no need to go to bed early. Paul will collect you and you can stay with him until the power returns. "

Esther arrived safely back home. No sooner was she in the house that she heard a car come up the driveway. He got out of the car and walked up and knocked on the door.

Esther ran to see who was there.

She answered the door:

"Hello Esther my name is Paul, Imelda's friend. I'm here to bring you to my house until the electricity returns. I have a backup generator to give electricity until it returns. "

Esther reluctantly said: "I might as well stay with you until the electricity returns." She continued: "Are you and Imelda a couple or are you just friends? I don't want to come between you two."

Paul replied: "You are not coming between myself and Imelda. We are just Friends. I'm free to be with whoever I want to be with. Do you want to have a romantic relationship with me?"

Esther replied: "I wouldn't rule it out happening between us. Using short term power as an excuse for a romantic relationship. There is no doubt that you are a handsome person. If I stayed with you long enough I would learn to love you."

Paul replied: "Would you sleep with me tonight regardless of power failure?"

Esther replied: "I would."

Both Paul and Esther then drove off to Paul's house. It took them 20 minutes drive to get their. When they arrived safely Paul took Esther's bag and opened the car door to let Esther out.

Both felt a spark between them.

They decided to try and create a solid relationship between them. Next thing they felt a pull towards each other.

When it came to going to bed Esther wanted to sleep on the couch, but Paul asked her if she would agree to sleeping with him so as both of them would be warm. She reluctantly agreed to the plan, but she was glad she did.

Both felt a strong pull towards each other. They decided to go with the flow and see where it would take them.

Their romantic feelings for each other developing as the time passed.

They woke up the following morning and found out that the electricity had returned. Both knew that the power cut pulled them together. They ate breakfast and Paul said to Esther: "I will bring you home around lunchtime, if that's okay?"

Esther nodded in Agreement.

Neither of them forgot that night.

One day Esther felt something wasn't right with her body and went the doctor. He did a blood and urine test to get to the bottom of the problem.

"You will get the results in a week's time. "

She left her email address with her doctor to get her results sent directly to her. She was minding her own business for the rest of the week when she heard a beep from her phone.

She checked it and sure enough it was the test results. She double checked it and was shocked to see that she was pregnant. She had no contact details for Paul. She check her phone contacts. She had Imelda's phone number. She texted her looking for Paul's number and explained why. Imelda gave her his phone number and wished her luck.

Esther put Paul's number in her phone.

She decided it was best to text him instead of calling him.

The text read:

"Hello Paul, Esther here. I'm just letting you know that we are going to be parents. I hope you will be happy about this."

Paul replied later that evening:

"Thank. You for your text Esther. I am happy that both of us are going to be parents. It is a shock to me and I'm sure it was a shock to you too. We will work through this together. I will contact you later once I have thought it through. "
