I was walking home from my friend's house after we had a long day of gaming and watching movies. It was a little passed 11pm and I knew any later than that I'd be hearing it from my parents. It was a dark warm night with a half moon and crickets chirping in the background. No cars or anyone in sight just a long stretch of road ahead of me and street lights. I got on my phone to make it less creepy and not so much of a boring walk as it was quite a ways to my house. I fiddle around with random apps on my phone to keep me distracted. I did look up every so often to see my path and to see if any cars were coming for my safety. It was 10 minutes into my walk when I started to get really uneasy and the chills. I walked a bit faster to make my walk shorter and so I could get home faster before it became am. I started to hear rustling in the trees as if thier was an animal hopping from one tree to another. I then began to run and forget about walking as now my heart was pounding and my thoughts were filled with negative things and was thinking the worst. Dogs started barking from houses that were a cross from each other. In my head I was thinking were they barking at me or whatever is lurking in the trees above me. It was a good thing the street lights lit up my way to my destination. I was getting closer to my house as I can see my dad's car from a distance parked outside our house. I was still running heart beating faster as I can still hear whatever was in the trees moving around. I than began to hear noises as if someone was running behind me. At that point I was in full panic mode and was thinking the worst of the worst. I was running so fast I could barely catch my breath but I was soo scared I couldn't stop running until I got to my house . I finally reached the front my house. The worst part I knew the door was going to be locked as my parents locked the door every night before 10pm. I banged on the door for my parents screaming. MOM!!! DAD!!! PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR. good thing it didn't take long for them to open the door. They immediately asked what's wrong is everything OK. I explained to them what happened and they explained to me why it is it's a bad idea to be put out at night at that time alone. Ever since that day I made sure I left my friends house before sun down. It's a memory that will forever stick with me and haunt me.
