On a fine Sunday evening, John set out for the woods to camp there for two nights in search of extraterrestrial signals. With his rabiometer and his telescope, he went with his friend named Oliver, who was his college mate and a good friend. They both had a common passion for extraterrestrial life exploration, life on other planets, and deep space. After reaching Oroville, a camp site, they took out the equipment from the car. They have planned to stay here for 2 days and 2 nights. Located 150 kilometers from the city, it's visited by people from and outside the city for its natural beauty, stunning horizons, and the spellbound starry sky when darkness overlaps. Maybe because of its perfect placement on the earthly surface, it gives a clear open view of the vast sky, and if you have a telescope, a few galaxies, stars, and planets.
They reached there one and a half hours before sunset. After setting up their tent and installing their equipment, they had a little talk about extraterrestrial life or any contact with such beings, and about the consequences of it. The view of the starry night, as clear as it can get, already showed them a shooting star, maybe a small piece of an asteroid quite far away, through the lens recordings of one of their telescopes. You can't thank this place enough for what it has to offer to astro heads. Nothing was quite in store for them on the first night, just a few captures of stars, planets, and galaxies. No unusual signals from distant beings. The next morning, after having their breakfast, they attached and connected new pieces of equipment to their calorimeters. Quite an upgrade, they believed could help detect complex signals more effectively. As darkness covered the horizons, they sat on their camping chairs with their equipment set to life. At around 8:30 PM, John received a strange signal that was from a distant galaxy. After decoding the signal, he pieces together, 'Are you there?' They both had quite a chat with the Galactic form in broken bits, and it changed a lot of their perspective on extraterrestrial life, which used to be till 9 PM, Earth year 2099, just fiction.
