The evening city lights shimmered through the glass walls of Vexon Corp., where Adrian Vexon, the 29-year-old CEO with a body sculpted like a dream and a face that could melt hearts, stood in his office. He was the kind of man every magazine wanted on its cover — rich, composed, and dangerously charming. But lately, something — or rather, someone — had been distracting him.
Her name was Elena Brooks.
She worked as a junior project analyst — quiet, graceful, with a smile that could light up a dark room. Adrian had noticed her the moment she presented her first report. She wasn’t like the others — humble, hardworking, and painfully loyal… especially to her boyfriend, Ryan, a man who didn’t seem to appreciate her at all.
---
Friday Night.
The company had given everyone free tickets to a movie premiere downtown — a romantic comedy. Elena had begged Ryan to come along. He’d agreed, but his attention was more on his phone than on her.
Adrian was at the same cinema with his business partner. When he spotted Elena in the crowd, laughing nervously beside Ryan, something in him stirred.
Halfway through the movie, the host came on stage for a fun intermission game — “Camera Kiss Time!” The screen zoomed in on random couples, and the crowd cheered each time they kissed. Then, suddenly — the camera stopped on Elena and Ryan.
The audience erupted: “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”
Elena’s cheeks flushed red. She leaned closer, shy but smiling, expecting at least a quick kiss. But Ryan… laughed. He leaned back, shook his head, and mouthed, “Nah.”
The crowd went quiet. Some people snickered. Elena froze, mortified. She wanted to disappear.
Before she could move, a voice came from behind. Deep. Calm. Commanding.
“Excuse me.”
The crowd parted as Adrian Vexon — tall, dressed in a black shirt that hugged his perfect frame — stepped forward. His eyes locked with hers, filled with something fierce and protective.
Without saying a word, he took her hand, pulled her gently toward him — and kissed her.
Not a staged, awkward kiss — but one that made the entire room silent. Slow, deep, and real.
When he finally pulled back, he whispered against her lips,
“Don’t ever let a man make you feel unwanted.”
The crowd went wild. Ryan stood frozen, too stunned to speak.

Later that night, Adrian found Elena waiting outside, still shaken.
“You shouldn’t have done that,” she said softly.
He smiled faintly. “Maybe not. But I don’t regret it.”
She looked up at him, heart racing. “Why?”
“Because,” he said, stepping closer, his voice low and sincere,
“I’ve wanted to kiss you since the first day you walked into my office.”
Her breath caught. The world around them blurred.
And for the first time in a long while, Elena felt seen — truly seen.
