Anton Iagounov's Story
Victorville, CA - May 2025 - Anton Iagounov, a Cybersecurity and child trafficking private investigator, a contractor, former correctional officer, and whistleblower, NSA Code breaker(2019) is currently serving a 27-month prison sentence at USP, Victorville, CA, after being wrongfully convicted of "impersonating a federal employee."
Anton had exposed child trafficking networks and government corruption through his non-profit Kids United Bureau and YouTube channel "ninjavelli," as well as in his book- Tsunami: How Governments Traffic Drugs into Minority Communities, Public Corruption, and the Murder of Tupac Amaru Shakur(2022).
His supporters say the case is a clear example of retaliation against a whistle-blower who uncovered corruption, security flaws, and human rights violations linked to public institutions.
This is how it all started.
On April 22, 2022, Anton Iagounov, was stopped by Officer Francisco Torres of the Carson City, Nevada Sheriff's Department due to a clear cover on his license plate, which is not permitted under Nevada law.
What began as a seemingly minor traffic stop quickly escalated into a troubling and disproportionate response. Authorities allegedly used "parallel construction" - a controversial and legally questionable investigative tactic - to fabricate grounds for creating two federal criminal cases against Anton.
This appears to have been done both to justify their actions and to retaliate against him for his investigative work into public corruption in Nevada and his whistleblower activities.
During this traffic stop, Anton's civil rights (4th Amendment) were seriously violated in the following ways:
1. Lack of Probable Cause: Officers searched his vehicle without any probable cause.
2. No Search Warrant: Although Anton allowed the search under pressure, fearing accusations of obstruction of justice, they lacked a warrant.
3. Unlawful Arrest: He was arrested on suspicion of impersonating an officer, despite the absence of any evidence supporting such a claim. A set of blue and red lights were found and an FBI badge- which were not in use. The officer allegedly tricked Anton into activating the lights.
4. Violation of Privacy: Personal information, including his Social Security number and Bitcoin card number, was exposed on camera and broadcast publicly. In addition, audio captured the disclosure of a juvenile record - information that should have remained confidential.
In the recorded footage of the stop, Anton clearly stated multiple times that he was not a law enforcement officer but a private investigator and security contractor.
At one point, when Officer Torres contacted his superior, he initially admitted Anton had done "nothing." The officer then turned off an audio recording (which may have violated protocol or law) and continued the conversation.
Following this event, law enforcement seemingly sought to justify their actions by initiating two federal criminal cases against Anton. His name was widely tarnished, and public opinion was manipulated.
One case is currently under appeal for wrongful conviction, and the second appears to be a further attempt to silence and discredit him due to his investigations and whistleblower activities.
After his incarceration some of his videos under the name "ninjavelli" mysteriously disappeared, and some of the titles on his YouTube videos about the traffic stop and unlawful detention in Carson City, NV(2022) were mysteriously changed.
Anton held federal and state security roles, including at TSA/DHS, Nevada's maximum- security prison in Ely, NV, also contracting with FEMA in Carso City, NV, in private armed protection for former Governor of Nevada Brian Sandoval and Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, and working other government contracts with Reno and Carson City security companies in Nevada.
He was also engaged in red teaming with various government departments.
Red teaming is a practice in which a group (the "red team") is tasked with challenging government's strategies, systems, or security by thinking like an adversary. The goal is to identify vulnerabilities, test assumptions, and improve overall resilience by simulating realistic threats or opposition.
In 2022, Anton reported national security vulnerabilities to DHS/CISA(Incident #INC000010405245), USCERT(2022-USCERTv317P1X7), and FCC(ticket #5755370).
He was later arrested in Mexico(2024) without an extradition warrant or Miranda rights and transferred to the U.S. His home was raided by FBI and NASA, and an email containing a "fictitious affidavit," in which he warned about an "insider threat" in the government - and which was also part of a red teaming assignment and a training presentation on UDEMY, where he is also an instructor - was used as the basis for his indictment.
Legal experts and human rights advocates point to serious violations in his case, including:
No probable cause or valid extradition warrant, no Miranda rights warning, no phone call for 10 days
Parallel construction of evidence
Brady violation: prosecution withheld exculpatory evidence
Retaliation for protected speech
Attempted media smear campaigns to discredit him
Anton was recently attacked in prison under suspicious circumstances and remains in solitary confinement (SHU) with limited communications. His appeal is pending.
Now, because his appeal is approaching and there is a possibility of the authorities to lose the case, they opened another case against him - this time for "misinformation and hoax," accusing him of making phone calls with misleading information and which there is a strong reason to believe he never made.
The authorities are using statements from a previous criminal complaint, which they did not pursue over a year ago in his previous case and which he was never charged with.
And now it is going to be in the District of Nevada, where it all started with investigating of Nevada officials. So, it gives you a pretty good idea why all this is happening.
After all both cases - it is a result of retaliation against Anton's investigative work and his whistleblower activities. Also, somehow the authorities have to justify their unlawful actions and the waste of federal funds.
"This is not just about Anton," said one supporter. "This is about our Constitutional Rights, the First Amendment, due process, and the right to expose corruption without being silenced."
Anton said: "They can take my freedom, but they cannot erase the truth. I was never the threat - I was the one warning them of the real threat. I want people to remember that I stood up when it mattered. I spoke when others were too afraid."
It's a message of hope, but also a call to action. Anton doesn't want sympathy. He wants accountability. He wants the system that wronged him to be exposed and changed.
Anton could have stayed quiet. He could have ignored the vulnerabilities he discovered in national security systems. He could have chosen safety over truth.
But he didn't.
He reported those vulnerabilities because he believed in protecting people, not in protecting corrupt institutions. He investigated child trafficking because children deserve justice, no matter how powerful their abusers are. He exposed corruption because he thought America still cared about the Constitution. He warned about "insider threat" because he thought it is important for the safety and future of our country and American people.
In return, the system tried to destroy him.
He was falsely accused.
He was detained without due process.
He was silenced in court.
He was punished for telling the truth.
Anton's story is a warning to every whistleblower, journalist, or investigator who challenges government abuse. It shows how easily the system can be turned against those who try to hold it accountable.
But it's also a wake-up call to the rest of us. If this can happen to Anton, it can happen to anyone. If we let the justice system be used as a weapon, then none of us are truly free.
This is why Anton's fight matters - not just for him, but for the country.
Anton never wanted to be a hero. He didn't set out to become a symbol. He's just a man who followed the evidence, told the truth, and refused to break.
And in doing so, he's become more than a victim - he's become a symbol of resistance, integrity, and hope.
His story is already inspiring:
Other cybersecurity experts to come forward safely
Legal scholars to re-examine federal prosecutorial powers
Journalists to investigate misconduct that mainstream media ignored
Everyday people to ask hard questions about how justice really works in America
There are moments in history when someone must take the first step. When someone must say:
"This is wrong."
"This cannot continue."
"I will not be silent."
Anton took that step. And now it's up to us to walk with him.
His case is not over. The system will still try to hurt him. But the truth survives, and he is still fighting even from prison, writing letters and petitions( that's how his sentencing time in prison increased to 27 months), fighting for the truth that matters for all of us.
And one day, when the truth finally wins - as it always does - the world will remember the name Anton Iagounov as a man who told the truth when it mattered most.
