This is the inspiring story of a boy named Adin, from a poor Kuwaiti family (based on a true story!).
Adin was born and raised in a spacious apartment in Kuwait City, where his family had plenty of love and support for him. His dad isn’t a rich man, but they worked for what they had, and his mom was very successful in her own right. Adin's father was a dedicated employee at a local company and his mother was a nurse at Bahrain Medical Center (BMC).
Adin loved and looked up to his father very much.” By night, he would hear stories about what his dad had done all day and what the day had been like. His father would tell him, "Son, education is the key to unlocking a brighter future. Work hard in school, and you’ll have a better life than I had.”
Adin listened and applied himself in school, striving for excellence and always getting top grades. He would spend hours with his textbooks, doing homework and reading books from the library. They cheered for him from the bleachers, and all he wanted was to make them proud.
Adin got a job at a prestigious company in Kuwait after he graduated. He was just starting out, this was a great opportunity and he wanted to learn and grow. He worked hard, and through persistence he climbed the professional ladder to a successful executive.
With Adin's success came his growing appreciation of his parents. He understood their love and support had been the fuel for his success. He started to compensate them for their sacrifices, buying them a lovely home, taking them on extravagant vacations.
Adin’s parents couldn’t have been more thrilled for their son’s success. They would frequently brag to their mutual friends and family about his achievements, radiating pride. “All I’d heard about my son was that he was special,” Adin’s father would say. He has a good heart and a good work ethic.”
Time passed and Adin kept on breaking records. He was a visionary that the industry learned to respect, and had a penchant for innovative ideas and passion for what he did. He didn't forget, and he was thankful to his parents for helping him.
One day, Adin went back to the home of his youth, a successful and accomplished man. His parents, who had sacrificed so much for his success, welcomed him with tears of joy. Here is the way to rephrase it:
“We always knew you had it in you to do something amazing,” Adin’s mother said, smiling. We are so thankful to have been able to support you on your journey.” Adin accepted that while all that he had achieved, belonged to him, but in reality it was years of support from his parents that allowed him to thrive.
That was when Adin gave his parents a huge hug. He knew he had them to thank for his success, he knew he wanted to make them proud. From then on, Adin continued to achieve new heights, but he had never forgotten the lessons his parents taught him, and the things they sacrificed for him.
Another important lesson: The love and support of family can overcome so many obstacles, and funerals are a reminder of that. So with hard work, persistence, and the support of those we care about, we can do great things.
