At the Ankh Theater in Los Angeles, reporter Eliza Edwards stood next to a crowd of adoring fans, waiting for their favorite heroes to arrive.
"Good evening everyone, I'm Eliza Edwards from Bacon News Center, coming to you live at the Ankh Theater, here in Los Angeles. Right now, we are waiting for the 87th Annual Superpower Awards to start. As you can see, many fans here are excited." Edwards reported, holding her microphone, as the camera was directed towards her. "Here, we have Superior Power from the America Alliance, who are nominated for seven awards this year." She continued, as the camera turned to the man in the cape. "How are you doing tonight, Superior Power?" She asked, hearing the sounds of cheering fans. "I'm doing great tonight, Eliza!" He said, waving to the fans.
Meanwhile, on a social media app called Sh*tter, fans post about the Superpower Awards.
@RobSmith11: Superior Power deserves to win every award that he has been nominated for tonight.
@realElizabethJ: The Superpower Awards are supposed to celebrate real superheroes, not the fast food brand superheroes like the Ruin Watch or the Bizarre People.
@frankt_jones1: It's fascinating to see all of these great minds gather together every year.
Back at the Ankh Theater.
"Now, we have Jet Armor arriving." Edwards narrated, seeing a man in a full body suit of hi-tech armor. The reporter approached the hero and greeted him. "Jet Armor. That is a nice suit you have on today." She complimented. "Thanks, Eliza." He responded. "Glad to be here today." He continued. "Or else I wouldn't have nominated myself for five awards this year." He added. "I liked the way you and the Retribution beat Robo-Ruler and the Sinister Masters." She commented. "Thanks!" He replied, as an African-American man in a military officer's uniform approached the two and greeted Jet Armor. "Jet Armor!" The man exclaimed, exchanging a hug. "Right here, we have Director Julius Field of the Retribution joining us now." Edwards added. "Hey!" Field exclaimed. "Jules, I was talking to Jet Armor about your victory against Robo-Ruler; anything you'd like to comment on that?" She asked him. "There's a lot of talented superheroes here today and there's also the Retribution." He answered. "Yeah!" Jet Armor exclaimed.
On a Kingdom Today article online, a journalist named Daisy North gave her exposition of the pre-show of the Superpower Awards.
"Big names such as Proletariat Princess, Red Sorceress, and Lady Gladiator amazed us all with style on the red carpet, as well as new names such as Matter Mistress and Nubian Star. Matter Mistress debuted almost late last year as part of the up and coming team Immortality. They received recognition for defeating the immortal Devious, who had plotted to take over humanity in the name of his people. Nubian Star, on the other hand, had joined forces with Red Sorceress to defeat the 500-year old witch Salem. She is also set to join forces with Cosmos Woman next year." North reported.
Soon, all of the nominees were seated inside of the Ankh Theater.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 87th Annual Superpower Awards, with your host Sentient Suit!" A voice said from within, as everyone clapped for him.
"Thank you! I think we should all give ourselves a pat on the back because we're all winners tonight!"
Everyone clapped and cheered in response, as the camera focused on Superior Power and the America Alliance.
"Just kidding! Only some of us are winners, while the others, well...." He added.
The audience laughed and the camera turned to Jet Armor, who had laughed as well.
"Anyway, let's get to our first category. Best Teenage Hero." Sentient Suit declared.
Dimension Girl
A clip of Dimension Girl using a portal to attack a foe by surprise was shown.
Impervious
Next, a clip of Impervious fighting a brute-like villain.
Speed Kid
A clip of Speed Kid using his powers to tie up criminals.
Brawler Lad
Since he lacked powers, Brawler Lad used his smoke bombs and nightstick to take down thugs.
Shape Sister
Shape Sister used her powers to change into a giant version of Lady Gladiator and fight a lab experiment. "And the winner is..." Sentient Suit began. "Impervious!" He finished, before the audience began cheering. Impervious walked onto the stage and hugged Sentient Suit. "Thank you!" Impervious said, facing the audience. "This is such a life-changing experience for me and I wanna thank all of my fans and all of you people and, of course, my family for this award, because I couldn't have done this without them!" Impervious concluded, before walking off of the stage with his award.
"Up next, we have the award for best new superhero, right after the commercial break." Sentient Suit announced.
