It is raining with thunderstorms, but Evalina did not come to London to be trapped in her hotel room. She is on her way to meet Mr. Hartley, owner of Hartley's Living Antiques, to get information on Fitch's Watchpoint, a place she has been wanting to do research on for the longest time but could never find it.

As she is driving, she takes in the sights such the beautiful pink rose bush hedges outside the Vintage Rose Tea House which is designed to look like this humble little cottage-like home which brings some peace to the busy London roads and that a little bit of a 1950s vibe to the modern 2018 world. She almost misses her turn onto Mowbray Road to her destination. Coming to the middle of the road she notices an old rustic general store-like shop with a metal skull on the door.

Exiting the car, walks up to the door, and enters the shop. Immediately she becomes overcome with amazement at all the antiques. When she looks to the left one piece catches her eye. Sitting on a shelf is a white porcelain jar with a glass red rose acting as a handle to the lid. Opening it she notices that there is a smaller jar that looks to have held something of a pinky-red color. Evalina admires the set, not even taking notice that Mr. Hartley has returned to watch over the register.

"Good morning young lady. I couldn't help but notice that you are admiring the Victorian beauty set."

Startled Evalina looks over at the elderly gentleman. "I am looking for Mr. Hartley."

"Well miss you are looking at him and you look like you came with questions. So, what can I help you with?"

"Well, I am looking for Fitch's Watchpoint I presume that the military though protects it well, right?"

"Oh, dear god miss no. Fitch's Watchpoint is not a military landmark. It is the window to room five-hundred and six in the old, abandoned Brumby Insane Asylum. Nurse Helene Fitch used to watch over patients outside with other nurses. Tell me have you heard the legend of the ghost of Fitch's Watchpoint?"

"No, I cannot say I have."

"Well, the legend goes that if a kindhearted soul goes to the hospital Nurse Fitch shows herself to anyone that she thinks will listen to her. Her killer was never caught but some say she was killed by one of the doctors when she tried to protect one the children who was a patient there."

"Oh, that's horrible why did never catch her killer?"

"Dear it is just like today if you are a wealthy person, you can use money to get away with anything. Just do not say that around the royal guards they may take that as an insult to the royal family. Hell, it might be the one thing that makes them move and talk."

Evalina understood that all too well she sees it all the time in her hometown of Los Angeles, California.

"Oh, my look at the time eleven-thirty in the morning meaning that it is time for afternoon tea. I suggest you find a tea house so that you can stay within proper etiquette here. Forgive me, I am not trying to be rude, but I prefer to take my tea alone. Oh, and if you like the Victorian beauty set just take it. It has sat in my shop too long."

Evalina took the beauty set and showed herself out making her way to the Vintage Rose Tea House. Once there she ordered her usual earl grey tea with cream and honey but no sugar with a plate of tea cakes and sandwiches. She begins looking over the beauty set when she notices that on the bottom of the powder jar is a name which turns out to be Fitch underneath the name it says Brumby. Now her curiosity was getting the better of her, she knew she had to go out there to the asylum and after she was done taking tea, she wasted no time getting there.

Once Evalina is at the asylum, she thinks to herself, "What if the legend is true and just maybe she can bring what is next for this landmark to light. Walking around the place she found that it looked like someone had been there recently but certainly not a ghost it was someone more alive. None the less she still felt like she had travelled back in time with the asylum's Victorian style halls and architecture style. Her voice recorder still recording her as she asks if anyone is there, but no response comes through when she stops and plays the recordings back.

She then enters what used to be the dayroom, but something does not feel right. She feels like she is being watched. She hears creaking coming from an old chair in the corner to the right and nervously calls out to Helene Fitch there is no answer. Evalina turns around only to see an elderly woman staring and grinning at her with malice. However, she notices the woman is alive. Evalina is petrified as the woman makes her way towards her like she wants to harm her when she sees an overweight older gentleman coming running towards the woman dressed in Victorian doctor's attire where the woman is dressed as a nurse.

"No Marianne you are supposed to scare not harm!"

"The man looks at Evalina. "Oh, Miss Voormann it is you."

"Mr. Remington what are you doing here?"

"Um well she and I?" then he sighs.

"Man, you two are going to have to explain a lot to the police. But hey at least I know the ghost legend it false."

But then all of them felt a chill in the air and they all thought the same thing, that the legend is not entirely false.

This story masterfully blends history, mystery, and suspense with an intriguing setting and an eerie atmosphere. I loved how Evalina’s curiosity led her deeper into the legend, only to be met with an unexpected twist. The ending leaves just the right amount of uncertainty—fantastic storytelling!
