I find myself running through the forest, knowing that the pack is not far behind. I do not bother looking behind or slowing down because I know exactly what will happen if I do. Even fighting to catch my breath, I press on. This is the edge of the territory. I will forever be known as a rogue, but I refuse to be bound to such a horrible wolf. Once I cross the territorial line, I continue steadily for some time before finally slowing down and catching my breath. "This is pack law.” They say... I know pack law, but I cannot commit to someone who does not treat me equally in any way. If I was supposed to be his Luna, I should be able to stand with him not behind him. I won’t." I say to myself.

I come along a river, and I decide to take a drink. However, my plans soon change, as a huge silver colored wolf approaches me. Lowering his head, a deep growl escapes, and I automatically drop down. He's THE Alpha of this territory. I cannot even get myself to stand to move away. I am completely at his mercy.

"What are you doing here, rogue! This is MY territory.” His deep voice causes shivers through my fur.

I refuse to look at him, "I am sorry, Alpha. I just escaped from my old pack. Please forgive me for this trespass. I promise to leave immediately after I get some food and drink if that's okay."

He shifts his body and growls in the direction from which I came from. NO! This cannot be! Why would they fallow me into another wolf's territory? This is going to be a blood bath! I low crawl away from the distracted alpha, but before I could escape his jaws are around my neck forcing me to the ground. I yelp and whimper slightly as his teeth dig into my flesh. The scent of blood catches my nose before I realize he has pierced the skin. I instantly quiet down as the shock of the event runs through me. Is he going to kill me? It is not unheard of, after all, I did cross into his territory. I release a breath I did not realize I was holding, ready to accept my fate. To my surprise he releases his jaws and replaces them with his massive paw.

My old pack makes a semicircle to face the alpha, who lifts his head and howls a fear-inducing howl. Two more wolves appear almost as big as the alpha, his beta’s most likely. My muscles twitch uncontrollably as they approach causing more fear. The two beta’s hold me down as their alpha approaches my old pack.

“What business do you have with this rogue? They are in my territory and are henceforth my responsibility to deal with. Why have you fallowed into my territory?” The massive wolf inclines.

“She ran out on our alpha. He wants to deal with her personally. She ran out when she was to become his Luna. That disgrace is unforgivable. Her death belongs to him.” One of the gammas said. I never really bothered with their names for I was planning on leaving for a long time.

“Incorrect. She crossed into my territory; I make claims to her now. It’s my decision what to do with her and death does not quite suit the crime without proper investigation. If your alpha still chooses to pursuit, I will gladly take him on, I’ve been itching for a challenge.”

The pack looks at one another before nodding and running back towards their own territory. The alpha takes another look at me then his betas before walking away. The next thing I know is having ropes on me and then blacking out.

----------Chapter 1

I wake up to a pounding head and realize I am in a bed, naked. Sitting up, glancing around, I see it is a decent sized room with a private bath attached to it. I stretch and walk towards the bathroom when an unfamiliar voice causes me to stumble and stop.

“You should be thankful to the alpha. He could have killed you on the spot. Yet for some unknown reason, found pity on you and allowed you to live. Sometimes the Alpha does things we do not understand, however we do not question him. He obviously sees something in you that he likes. However, I will never view you as anything other than a rogue.” The female walks out.

“Don’t listen to Jezzabelle, she’s been wanting to be the Alphas mate for a while, but he won’t even give her a time of day. He cannot stand her. He is a…. peculiar kind of guy. My name is Kayden, one of the beta’s that brought you here. The other is Jayce. Do not worry about the fact you are naked we will not bother you. As it stands the Alpha has claimed you, so until he makes his decision on what to do with you, you are off limits. Make sure you clean up and get dressed there are some clothes in the closet of different sizes, we did not know what size you were… took a while for you to transform back to human… the Alpha wishes to speak with you so don’t keep him waiting to long.” The male named Kayden leaves.

I take the opportunity to go to the closet and look at the clothes. To my surprise it was a large walk-in closet the had 2 entrances, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. There were so many clothes to choose from of several different sizes as Kayden had said. I find my size section and settle on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt before heading to the bathroom. There I find some essential oils, bath salts, bubble bath, bath bombs, basically anything I could want for a bath. I settle for essential oils and bubble bath. I soak in the tub for around a half hour before deciding I should probably hurry since the alpha is waiting. I quickly wash my hair and rinse my body and step out of the bath drying off. I quickly get dressed having the t-shirt loosely tucked into the jeans. I brush my hair and throw it in a loose ponytail and walk out the door to be met with 2 males Kayden and I am assuming Jayce. I nod my head and they lead me down the long corridors of the pack house. Nothing was said until we come to a tower entrance and head up the flight of stairs.

“My name is Jayce. I am second beta. We are heading to the master’s quarters where you will meet with the alpha himself. Sorry if I hurt you last night at all trying to hold you down. I was only doing my job. Do you even talk? You have not said anything to anyone? Come on, at least tell us your name so we can quit calling you the rogue… ow.” Jayce gets elbowed by Kayden.

“Do you ever shut up? She is not supposed to speak with anyone until she speaks with the alpha, did you forget that? She obviously has not. Besides there is not a point in trying to get to know her until we know what the alpha decides. Stop pestering the girl.” Kayden says to Jayce sternly, “There is a reason he made me first beta…”

“Kade, you are just way too serious… you need to let loose get yourself a girl and have fun, I’m sure Jezz would gladly give you a good time.” A loud thump causes me to jump and look up. Kayden has Jayce against the wall.

“Just stop Jayce.” Kayden releases him.

“Geez Kayden, what’s gotten into you… you haven’t been so rough for a while… not since…”

“Don’t go there!” Kayden says, interrupting Jayce.

I clear my throat and the guys look at me as if they had forgotten I was there. They quiet down and continue up the stairs. We exit the tower at the next floor where there is a huge open room with a seating area and one wall covered floor to ceiling with books a small kitchen/dining combination in one corner and a set of closed doors on the other side of the room, most likely the Alphas dormitory, or bedroom. I stop not wanting to enter the room if it was his bedroom but am forced to enter by the hands of Kayden and Jayce after knocking and pretty much pushing me into the room. I turn to run when HIS voice stops me.

“And where do you think you are going?” the Alpha’s deep voice causes me to drop to the floor.

Even in human form he holds such power over me. This alpha is not like any other I’ve come across. I think its best that I simply do as he asks and try not to run away, that will only get me killed. If I were in my wolf form, I would be so low to the ground and my tail would be between my legs right now. He is so scary, so… powerful.

“Now then, rogue, come here we need to discuss some things.” He says in a calmer tone, one less scary.

I stand still shaken by his previous tone. I walk to his desk and looking down at the table. I don’t even know what he looks like.

“Tell me why you ran from a Luna position? That is the greatest honor a female wolf can have. Speak, now.” He demands.

I swallow hard, “Pardon me alpha, I am aware of the honor, but I could not bear to be with someone who would not even allow me at their side. He was rude, cruel, tyrannical, and he was not my chosen mate. It was arranged.”

“So, you are telling me, that if I were to claim you right now, make you mine, that you would run?” He asks.

“There would be nothing I could do at this point. You could have killed me and did not. You could have locked me in a cell, instead you put me in a room. A genuinely nice room. As it stands, I am in debt to you. What you choose to do with me at this point is out of my control. I am a rogue that was caught. I have no say anymore.” I admit my defeat.

He stands and lifts me up, throwing me over his shoulder, walks to the bed and lays me down on it before locking my hands together above my head with his hand. “So, if I torment you, you will just let me, do it?” He runs his hand down my side and over my stomach. “Would you be a good girl and just take it?” he pulls my shirt up and still gets no reaction from me, which seems to upset him.

“I can’t do anything to stop you.” I simply say.

“Why am I not getting any reaction? Usually, she wolves cringe under my touch… why haven’t you? How old are you?”

“I just turned 18 recently. Most she wolves have their first heat between 16 and 18 but I have yet to have mine. I’m sorry that this isn’t working for you, but I get no reaction from your touch.”

He gets off me, “You’ve never had a heat? That means you have never had a rank. No wonder why you immediately fall to the ground when I speak, and why you had run from your pack. They were trying to force you to go into heat, by mating you. That is cruel beyond reason. You will remain in this pack until such time I decide otherwise. For now, you will remain in the room you have been given. Once we know your rank, we will put you in the right quarters. Jayce! Kayden! Approach now!”

The two beta’s walk in simultaneously. “Yes, Alpha?” they say together.

“You two will be taking shifts at her door. She will remain here for now. Do not get to close yet. I have not made my final decision, but I am not going to allow her to leave this pack. If she does, I will not hesitate to kill her on site. If her previous pack ever shows up here chase them out or kill them. She must gain my trust and the trust of the pack before she can roam about without an escort. We will see just what she has in store. For now, she will be treated as a guest, but not fully. What is your name, pup?”

“Pup?” Jayce and Kayden look at each other.

“Once I became a rogue, I gave up my previous name.” I state.

“I’m confused, what do you mean?” Kayden asks, “You don’t just give up your name, that only happens in high society families, right?”

“I was a member of The Raven Moon Clan. Therefore, when I left, I also left the name behind.” I explain.

“That explains a little more as to why it was arranged, I suppose, but what should we call you then. You are a black wolf, that much I noticed when we first met. You are also quite fast. I had been watching you from the moment you entered my territory. Look at me.” The alpha demands.

I sigh and look in his direction avoiding his eyes. He is tall and tan. A tank of a man, very muscular. He looks like any normal she wolf’s dream. Not mine though. I would prefer one not so dangerous looking. I can see why Jezzabelle is so obsessed with him though. He approaches me grabs my head forcing me to look into his amber colored eyes. Even that had no reaction from me. He turns my head from side to side then backs up and scans me from head to toe. Still no reaction.

“She is still a pup, boys. Do not try to force her into anything. She needs to go through her first heat. Then we will see just where in the pack she belongs. I will figure out a name for her later. For now, just call her Raven. Until I know more about who she is and how a she-wolf at age 18 has yet to go through her heat. It puzzles me. Normally she would have melted at my touch, but as you saw, there was not even a reaction. Even young ones who have not reached the mature age have melted at the mere sight of me. Why hasn’t she?”

“SHE is 18, and still hasn’t had a heat cycle?” Jayce exclaims. “How odd.”

My cheeks begin burning red at the embarrassment. I have never felt so exposed in my life, even being nude after a transformation. I walk to the door, “Alpha, may I be excused. I’m feeling a bit tired.”

“Kayden, take her to her room, Jayce find me some books.” The two betas do as they are told. Kayden taking me by the hand and leading me out of the room.

Once we reach my room Kayden finally speaks to me. “Don’t be embarrassed by them. They do not really know how to talk to a woman or talk around a woman. Leviathan is a good alpha, but not exactly good at people skills. I believe you can speak with me, but we just need to not get to close. I will confirm with Levi, after my watch.”

“Thank you. I was embarrassed up there.” I say before opening my door. “Will there be food brought up by chance? Or do I need to be brought down?”

“I will have food brought up. We can eat together. Afterall, my job is to make sure you don’t escape.” Kayden says to me.

“I have nowhere to go. I will not be trying to escape. I value my life that the alpha has generously allowed me to keep. He very well could have killed me.” I say entering my room, purposely leaving the door open and crawling onto my bed and sitting on the edge not quite wanting to lay down. “Kayden, why would the Alpha not kill me or lock me in a cell anyway? I am still a rogue by technical standards. I have not been welcomed into another pack. Why is he keeping me around? What use does he have of me?”

“Look, Raven… god that name is sour…, anyway, he obviously has a plan for you. My guess is he is going to use you as leverage against your old pack. He has not had a scuffle in so long because he is so big other wolves usually just run. So, honestly, I think he is hoping that alpha shows up for you and they fight.” Kayden explains.

“You don’t like the name Raven?” I ask honestly curious.

“I don’t like the fact that he said to call you that name after that pack… it’s just not right… you deserve a name better suited than a name from a pack that tried to force you into something you weren’t ready for.” Kayden retorts.

“Kayden… that’s their pack law. If a woman reaches the age of 18 and has not had a heat, they force her into a bond… usually it works out. I… just could not be with him… he wouldn’t even allow me to stand at his side as a Luna does with their Alpha.” I state.

“Is it common in that pack for women to not have their heat until later?” Kayden questions.

“I wouldn’t say common… just members of the higher class. They usually have males, but if a female is born, usually, they are arranged to be married. I happened to be a female born to a high-class beta family. Therefore, I was told I would be married to the future alpha of the pack since there has not been a true bond in our pack for centuries. In fact, I am the only one to successfully escape, and if it were not for your alpha, I wouldn’t have escaped.” I say sadly.

“You never really seemed like an average wolf to me, but how could any pack be so strict as to not allow for true bonds to take place? Or allow you she-wolves to have your heats naturally? It confuses me and obviously Jayce and Leviathan as well…” Kayden investigates further.

“I assume you will share what I’ve told you with your alpha as it is your job as beta… if he would have given me more time to explain or not been so demanding I might have been able to tell him myself… He honestly frightens me. I have never met any alpha that caused me to drop to the ground as he does. Why is it that way?” I explain.

Kayden laughs, “Like I said earlier, he’s a good alpha, but not good with people skills. He has a power about him that even I bend to uncontrollably. He’s a good guy though; once you get to know him.”

I sigh, “I don’t know if I want to know him on anything more than an alpha/subordinate basis. He is not the kind of guy I could see myself with. However, being as he has allowed me to live, I cannot defy what he wishes of me. If he were to decide to come here and take me, even as I do not respond to his touch, I would allow it. I wouldn’t necessarily enjoy it, but I couldn’t stop him even if I tried or wanted to.”

“I don’t think that’s right. I also know that he probably will not be forcing you into anything. Even he has morals, unlike that pack you came from. I would love to go into their territory and rip them all apart for how they treat you ladies. It’s disgusting.” Kayden expresses.

“It’s the way of that pack. I am sure they have their reasons. I just did not care enough to pay attention to it since we females are treated differently there. What I needed to know was how to be submissive. The males are superior to us females. That is how it was there. I assume it is the same here beings as you are beta and a male. Jayce is also male and a beta. I have not met any females in high ranking. Please forgive me if I overstep my bounds, I’m not sure of that line here.” I say to him.

“There are female betas also, usually they are the betas of the Luna, but since Levi doesn’t have a Luna yet, it’s kind of… us guys. As far as Jayce goes, he has not met his either, but that does not stop him from having women… Me… well that is a story for another time. I am not going to tell you, in fact I have probably already shared more than I should have with a rogue, but I was trying to make you feel better. You seemed like you needed it.” Kayden says, bluntly.

“I do not expect anyone to be friends with me. I am nothing more than a rogue to you all. I really do not understand why you are technically talking to me.” I state.

“Because you are currently a permanent guest. Leviathan made that quite clear. You are to be treated like a guest and if we just left you by yourself that would make us bad hosts. Even WE have a reputation.” The beta says to me.

“So, this is all about reputation…. You do not actually care. I guess I should have expected as much. He needs to look good to his pack and the surrounding packs…” I say blankly.

“That is not what I meant, woman. I am doing as my alpha has asked. Why do you even care what anyone else thinks? You left your pack and sought out mercy when you got caught. You wanted to leave. I heard you ask the alpha if you could leave after food and drink. Then your pack showed up. I am not angry with you, but I do not see why it matters to you what others think when you did not care what they thought when you left. Didn’t even consider your family and how they might have felt? You were selfish in leaving. Though the circumstances I can see why, but did you even consider the feelings of the people you were close to?” He confronts me, fighting his wolf transformation.

“I was never close to anyone, not even my family. They were ready to abandon me and leave me to a man who was a complete asshole. They did not care so why should I have? I had been preparing to leave that pack for a long time, Kayden. I never allowed for emotional bonds, even now I will not allow for such closeness. Being close to someone only causes pain and suffering. I learned that at an incredibly young age.” I state. “The only friend I had…, never mind, it’s not important here. You can close the door if you wish, then you will not need to listen to me or talk to me. As the alpha says, do not get to close to me.”

“Now you have me curious, but if you really wish not to speak with me, I can definitely close your door. However, I think it is okay for now. He seems like he is going to add you into this pack. After a few months maybe a year or so.” Kayden says.

“I don’t know if I will be allowed to be a member of the pack. Not without having one of the members as a mate… but I do NOT want a mate. Not unless they treat me better than any other male I’ve met.” I say to the beta.

“How can you say you do not want to be mated! You…” he takes a deep breath, “I cannot discuss this with you. I really hope Jayce comes soon…”

His tone makes me quiver slightly. What did I say to upset him? Why is he so angry? Am I really that terrible to be around? My heart sinks from the thought of me upsetting him. Unsure of how to react, I do nothing and say nothing. Just sigh.

“I am sorry. I had a mate once. Not like a bonded mate but one I promised to be with. She ended up getting killed by a pack of rogues. As in TRUE rogues, not like you. You are too kind to be classified as a true rogue in my book. You respect those higher rank, these ones did not.”

“You say that but, it was disrespectful to the pack that I ran out on the newly assigned alpha.” I state.

“That was circumstantial.” He walks into my room and pushes me back on the bed, “If the alpha would not have said not to force you into anything, I am no different than any other unmated wolf. You smell so good as it stands, and you haven’t even had a heat.” He nips my neck then licks the spot. “I would have you wanting me within seconds.” He whispers before standing up and backing away.

A chill comes over my body when he moves away. “What was that about?” I ask in a low timid voice sitting back up.

“It is called teasing. You really know nothing about relations, do you?” he asks.

I look away slightly embarrassed, “It is not like it is my choice. I cannot control when my heat will come. Nor can I control how my body will react to others. I never really explored because I was told from a young age that I would be married to the alpha of that pack. They would not allow me to explore anything, not even myself. So, no, I do not know anything about relations.”

“You couldn’t even…. That is so sad… at least here you are welcome to try but be wary… the moment you go in heat you will have almost every unmated male at your door wanting your attention. Then Jezzabelle will hate you even more than she already does.” He says with a chuckle.

“What do you mean? I’m not that pretty, so why would they want my attention?” I ask dumbfounded.

“You really don’t know… You really are a pup. When a female goes into her heat cycle, she puts off pheromones that attract the male wolves to her. We can smell it from miles away. It turns us into the animals that we are. You are a beautiful she-wolf. Even I see that, so does Jayce and Leviathan. They will be some of the first ones wanting your attention. They usually have only one thing on their minds when an unmated female goes into heat. You are unmated. They will do… just about anything to get inside you. Just saying. They may even fight for the attention. I am not any better though, to be honest. It just affects me a little differently. I have a bit more control I guess, but not much.”

“The way it sounds, is you really don’t like me at all.” I say, saddened by the thought.

“I did not say that. I am just cautious. You ran out on a man. That alone makes me even more weary as to if I would even try. You gave up a Luna position. Most females would not care about who their mate was if they were Luna. You intrigue me, which makes me cautious too. I want to get close, but I do not want to get in the way of the alpha either. I like you so far, but again it is a ‘proceed with caution’ thing. I do not want to get close to you just to have you taken by Levi or even Jayce. Though I’d fight Jayce… he doesn’t deserve someone like you.” Kayden says.

“You confuse me. How can you like me when you just met me? I do not even know you, yet here you are saying you like me. I am not sure how to respond to that even. I ended up here because I crossed into the territory after running from my pack. I was saved by your alpha and you and Jayce, but I know not why. What about me is so interesting that you would even give me any form of attention? I am but a rogue that got caught and was given a rare chance.” I exclaim.

“That rare chance is exactly why I am even talking to you. That and the fact that our alpha saw something in you that night. He is just neglecting to share what it is. Maybe you are his mate. You would not know until after your heat, but that does not mean he does not know. Even I see something, but I just do not know what it is exactly, but you are special. You have something about you. I’m sure he saw it too, which is why he was so adamant about having you back there.” He says to me.

“Why does everyone keep saying that there is something special about me? I am just a normal she-wolf. Nothing special about me.” I scoff.

“There is definitely something.” He states sternly.

“Must we argue? There either is or there is not. Currently I do not know of any special qualities, but I also have only transformed a few times and it was not like the actual true transformation where the female takes on the true form of the label she will have. As it stands, I am an omega. The lowest rank. Even though I was born into a family of betas, that does not actually qualify me as such. I expect it to be soon that I must prove my standing within this pack, beings as he will not allow me to leave, and since this is the place where I will most likely experience my heat, this is where I will fight for rank. I am not going to fight with the alpha and his decision. As he said, I must prove myself.” I strengthen my determination.

Kayden paces the room, and then sighs, “I don’t understand this at all. Anyway, food should be here in a couple minutes.”

“What is there to understand? I am an unmated female, about to have her first heat, and for that reason has been claimed by the alpha to remain here, not necessarily to be his mate, but I am sure he will try again. I must deal with 2 betas who are also unmated by technical standards, and who knows how many other ranks and unmated wolves… I do not know how I am going to deal with all this. I do not even know how my first heat will be. I have heard things like its painful, and smells… different. Not bad exactly but strong. I also heard it changes the female. Her previous wolf form is forgotten as the stronger wolf takes over. In other words, I may not be a black wolf after my heat even. I could be a different color or perhaps bigger than I currently am in wolf form. It’s weird that males, when they reach maturity, their wolf is permanent, yet a female is not or might not be, depending on when they have their heat. I am at a loss here I don’t even know what to expect.” I explain.

“Wait, do you know when you will have your heat?” Kayden asks curiously.

“I don’t know exactly no, but I do know it will be soon, I can feel it. I have already been experiencing some of the pre-heat things… just did not feel like saying that to the alpha. He probably could tell…” I say, flustered.

“If you are already experiencing things, that means it could happen any time. I don’t know that the pack is ready for that.” Kayden says, now understanding his reactions towards the rogue a little better.

“I am not exactly ready to deal with all those males either. I will probably hide in my room and not come out during my heat. Maybe even stay bathing all day to cover my scent.” I state.

“That might work… as long as your bedding gets cleaned daily and you only sleep in it.” Kayden says.

“I sure hope it at least lessens the amount of attention. It makes me nervous to be around so many at a time, and how can I get them to back off? I do not want to explore with anyone. Not yet anyway. The first heat is supposed to be special, but does that mean I will have to be mated?” I ask.

“No, but the longer you wait after your heat the more you will have to deal with. Wolves will travel long distances to mate. However, a true mate is rare. Things used to be easy but with the territorial battles, there is difficulty in finding one’s true mate.” Kayden explains.

“As much as I want my first time to be special, I have a feeling it’s not going to be. Especially if the alpha claims me. Then what do I do? I owe him my very life, but I just do not see him as a potential mate. If he wishes to be my first, I cannot tell him no. I do not know if I can tell anyone no at this point. I do not know how my hormones will react to the slightest touch.” I admit.

“Trust me when I say, your first will be one of 3 wolves. The alpha will most likely choose who will get to have you first, sometimes he passes on a female if they don’t have the reactions he wants.” Kayden says.

“What? I am not even allowed to choose who my first will be? I do not want to talk about this anymore it is so embarrassing.” I say covering my face.

“You are too cute. That kind of look will get you into trouble with some wolves.” Kayden smirks.

“Oh, please stop, it’s embarrassing.” I say patting my burning cheeks.

“You need to stop being so cute and embarrassed. It only adds to the fuel.” Kayden grins devilishly.

“Now, now, Kayden, calm yourself down before you pounce on her.” Jayce comes strolling into my room with food. “I brought enough for the three of us. Then it’s my turn for the watch. I will get your bottom, I mean, I will be watching you…. Rather closely.”

“Jayce don’t even think about getting inside her. You know what Leviathan said. You do not have the control like we do. You hound.” Kayden sternly says.

“Ouch, that stung a little, Kade. I can control myself fine thanks. Besides, she has not even had a heat, so that part of me is not acting up. From what I saw, you looked like you were ready to pounce on her yourself.” Jayce counters.

“Boys…. That is enough. I am not some play toy. I am not even ready for that type of thing, with anyone… so stop talking like you are in a line fighting to be first. As far as I am concerned, I am not worth either of your time.” I state, frustrated.

The two betas look at one another and decide to end their dispute. Jayce distributes the food among the three of us. As we eat our meal, it is quiet and awkward. Once the meal was over, Kayden leaves unwillingly. Something seems off with him, but I would not know, as I am just an acquaintance of his. However, even Jayce seems to be confused by his unwillingness to leave me with the second beta. I walk into the closet and change into a nightgown. When I step out my door is closed, and Jayce is laying on my bed, in shorts.

“What do you think you are doing?” I ask, confused.

“I am going to sleep next to you so that I know you don’t escape. I am not going to take advantage of you like the others think I will. You are pretty and all, but I just got finished with a she-wolf so, I am not really wanting anything. In the morning Kayden will be back. So that will stop me from attacking you then. So, you are safe… for now any way.” Jayce states, patting the bed.

“I think I will just sleep on the floor. It’s a bit weird to sleep in bed with a male.” I say to him.

“I promise you will be more comfortable next to me than on the floor. If you do not come over here and lay down, I will pick your tiny ass up and put it on the bed anyway.” Jayce smirks.

I sigh and walk to the bed laying on the very edge, but Jayce pulls me closer to him and leaves his arm around me. Knowing there is no way I can wiggle my way out; I just accept it and lay beside him. Hours pass with no sleep. Jayce eventually turns to lay on his back, and I sneak out and head to the bathroom. I stretch, thinking I will not get much sleep if I am in my bed. I am about to leave the restroom when my body curls in on itself with pain stabbing me in all areas. I scream out, then the next thing I know my body shifts into wolf form. The pain I feel is excruciating and it feels as though my young wolf is dying. I knew at that time what was happening. My heat had started. The pain was almost unbearable as my body shifts from one dying wolf to a stronger healthier wolf. Soon the pain begins to fade out as the other wolf settles in. I collapse on the floor of the bathroom, unable to move due to the amount of pain I just endured. The next thing I know, there are 3 wolves standing at the bathroom door. I was unaware of what they were discussing. I am to warn out. I try to stand but am unsuccessful. I sigh as sleep tugs at me, but I refuse to give into it. I feel my body being lifted. I am being carried somewhere. My conscience fades in and out, before I lose it all together.

When my conscience is regained, I look around realizing I am in the alpha’s domain. Fear strikes me like a thousand bullets. What did he do to me? Why am I here? Why can’t I be in my room? What is his plan? I do not want to be mated to him; I do not want to have anything with him. He is too powerful. A voice comes into my mind saying not to judge him. I take a few deep breathes to calm down.

“Oh, you have awoken.” The alpha says.

“Why am I here? What about my room?” I ask.

“You are experiencing your first heat. You will remain in my room until it is over. If you are covered in my scent no one will bother you. Kayden explained to me that you are not really interested in having a mate right now, which is fine. I am not here to force one on you. I am not that cruel, Asena.” He states.

“Asena? As in the mother? Why?” I ask, unsure of what to think.

“You remind me of her, and it’s better than Raven, right?” Leviathan inquires.

“I guess so yes. So, I am only here so I do not get bothered by other wolves? You are not going to try anything? Not that I could go against you anyway.” I say, honest.

“Not right now, but that doesn’t mean it won’t change in a day or so. You just endured a painful change. So, out of respect, I will allow you to heal a little before I try anything.” He states.

“Oh, thanks, that makes me feel so much better…” I say sarcastically.

“It should, I could take you right now if I wanted to, but I am trying to be a gentleman.” He says, seriously.

“I am sorry, this whole thing is new to me and I’m not entirely sure how to handle it. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to keep other wolves away, but what if one of them is a true mate?” I ask.

“This being your first heat, I think it best you figure out your body. Test reactions with me. Let me touch you. Allow me this, you owe me.” Leviathan says domineeringly.

“I can’t refuse, even if I wish to. My life is yours to do with as you wish. Even if I do not like it. You hold my life in your paws, until a final decision is made.” I admit defeat.

“That’s a good girl. Now then get some sleep. Tomorrow is another day. I will figure out how to deal with the incoming wolves later. For now, let us sleep.” He says climbing into bed next to me in his wolf form, as I am also in wolf form. My heart skips as his body gets close to mine. At least he smells good. I lay beside him for a few minutes before sleep finally takes over.

--------Chapter 2

I wake from a dreamless sleep. Glancing behind me, I see Leviathan, the alpha. Realization hit. I am in my first heat, and here I am, next to the alpha. Did something happen? Had he taken advantage of me? Did I allow it to happen? Fear and uncertainty fill me.

“Relax, Asena. Nothing happened. I would never do something with anyone that was as weak as you were last night. If they cannot defend themselves, they are not worth my time.” Leviathan says sleepily.

“I… sorry.” I say ashamed. “Wait, Asena? Not Raven? You’ve decided on a name?”

“It is fine, and yes, your name from now on will be Asena.” He says running his fingers over my naked body. A shiver runs down my spine, out of my control. “Now that is a reaction I can deal with.”

He continues to stroke my body softly. He then kisses my neck causing my face to burn with embarrassment. This feeling is not something I am used to. He nips my neck and I whimper. He moans with pleasure. His hand squeezes my breast causing another whimper. He seems to be enjoying himself, and I cannot fight him off. I do not even want him, but the reactions my body is giving his touch, says otherwise.

“Alpha, we have a breach. A bunch of young males. Oh, I am sorry to interrupt.” A male I have not seen before is at the door.

“It is fine, Jackson. Gather the rest of the pack and run them out. They smell her, that is why they are here. They are probably a bunch of young rogues looking to get lucky.” Leviathan states.

The young male named Jackson nods and runs out. Leviathan gets out of bed and gets dressed. I transform into wolf as a safeguard but get a glare from the alpha. I hide under the bed. He steps out fully dressed and soon Jayce replaces him as my guard dog. I roll my eyes and come out from under the bed.

“Hello, there, Asena. It’s my turn.” He transforms into his wolf which is rusty colored, and he approaches me. He smells the air and a low rumble of a growl escapes.

I assume a defensive position, but am surprised when he licks my cheek, and whimpers. Unsure of how to react I tilt my head to the side, and he licks me again and brushes his body against mine causing a shiver to flow through me. He seems to like that action because he does it again whimpering. My defenses fall slightly he circles me before nipping my ear. I shake my head trying to figure out what his intentions are, when an incredibly angry Kayden comes storming in and jumps at Jayce. The charcoal grey wolf lets out a deep low growl as he stands in between me and the now frightened Jayce.

I back away from the two betas and attempt to sneak away when Leviathan shows up and blocks my path. Feeling completely trapped now I lower myself laying on the floor of the bedroom. Jayce completely backs away from the alpha and Kayden, who now stands in between the alpha and me. I stand and walk towards the Leviathan, even as I shake in my approach, my ears back and tail between my legs. Kayden snaps at my paws and I jump back, stopping my approach.

Leviathan transforms into his human form. “Kayden, enough. What happens from here is up to me. The two of you have shown disrespect for my authority. All due to this female? We will have a meeting in an hour about your behaviors.”

Kayden then transforms into human. “I was merely protecting her from something that she is not ready for. She has no idea what Jayce was doing, nor what you had intended to do. I will not allow her to be taken advantage of when she is not ready for that kind of relation. She is special, we all know that, but that does not mean you need to stake claims so quickly to make her yours. She has a choice to. You may have saved her from death or being taken by her pack, but that still does not give you the right to do as you please with her.”

“Kayden, she has said she wouldn’t stop me, that her life is in my hands. What I choose to do with her is up to me. She said so herself.” The alpha states.

“It is because she has not known any other way. Give her time. Let her figure out her own body before you go and defile it. She does not even get the concept of teasing. Let her explore herself. Let her find her rank. She needs to know where she stands among the pack. If you just take her, you are no different than the alpha she ran from.” Kayden says sternly.

The alpha groans, “Fine. I will leave her be for now. One day she will beg for me, then there will be nothing you can do.” Leviathan turns and exits, followed by the rusty colored wolf, Jayce.

Kayden turns and looks at me, and smiles, “At least you have a little more time. I just hope the alpha understands my line of thinking.”

I transform into human. “Thank you. I appreciate you risking your neck, but why would you do that for a stranger?”

“That is something I do not even know. However, you should be safe until your next heat I think.” He says to me.

My body moves on its own, running to Kayden and hugging him. “I still appreciate it.” I say backing off at the embarrassment of realizing the nudity and his body’s closeness. I quickly turn away.

“Do not be embarrassed. Its natural. You should be used to the nudity when transforming back to human form.” He ensures.

“It’s um…” I point at his erection.

He looks down and chuckles, “That was your fault when you hugged me naked. I will take care of it later.”

“I… I am sorry… my body moved on its own. I do not know why.” I say cheeks reddened.

“It is probably due to your heat. Tell me something, though. Why do you not look at any of us? You avoid looking at all costs.” Kayden inquires.

“I have no rank yet; it would not be appropriate.” I explain.

“Enough about rank. Look at me. We are not as strict as your old pack. We have our rules of course, but you need to lighten up.” Kayden demands.

“It is not as easy as you say. I cannot just forget about the way I was raised. I do not know any different. It will take some time to get used to all this…new pack stuff. You will just have to bear with me on this. It is all new to me. The reactions my body is giving off when I am touched, the fact that there is another she-wolf that despises me even though I do not even know her, and the fact that now I get to fight for a rank. I do not even know all the rules here yet, nor do I know what will come of my future. He still must decide that. It has not been made official and I have not even met the rest of the pack. As of now, I am still but a rogue that was caught and given a chance. I do not want to ruin that chance. I may not know many things, but I have determination. I am determined to make a life worth living, one that will make whoever I end up with proud, no matter what rank I am. If it really exists out there, I will find it. I will not live an unhappy life with someone who doesn’t cherish what I have to offer, even if it is not much.” I spout out.

“Good girl. Determination will help you in the long run. It will also help you fight for the rank you want. Determination is a strong quality to have in a wolf pack. You would have made a fine Luna, had that been what you wanted.” Kayden says.

“How can you say that? You do not even know me that well. We just met yesterday for heaven’s sake. I would not make a good Luna. Alpha wolves… are just too powerful with their alpha tones and domineering attitudes. I know they do it to help the pack, but is it necessary all the time? Why can’t they act… normal? Instead of being high and mighty all the time.” I mumble.

“Asena, they need to be that way. If they ever let their guard down, they would put the entire pack in jeopardy. The lives of so many in the hands of one or two? Do you know how stressful that can be? They are the way they are for the protection of the pack. Not because they want to be. Leviathan is not always domineering or pushy. He is a great guy. Just give him a chance to prove it. You cannot be so quick to judge another wolf because of your bad experiences. You have got to get to know them.” Kayden stresses his points.

I sniffle, “You can leave. Shut the door on your way out.” I jump on the bed and cry. Then I hear a sigh fallowed by the door shutting. After crying for several minutes, I sit up in the bed and wipe my tears. I pull my legs to my chest and wrap my arms around them, resting my head on my knees. My obsidian hair falls around my arms and legs. I blow my bangs out of my face before sighing and flinging myself backwards on the bed.

Maybe Kayden had a point. Maybe I should give Leviathan a chance. How? Every time I am around him, I drop to the floor. He scares me. How can I get over that? He has been nothing but nice to me. Why does he hold such power? There must be something else about him… something secret. Who am I kidding… he will never allow me close enough to know, and not to mention I am not sure if I would even be able to talk to him about it… why does life have to be so complicated? What was up with Jayce earlier? What was he trying to do? Why was Kayden so upset with everyone? It is my body after all. If I do not feel like fighting back is the right thing to do, what business is that of his? He does not even like me. He made that quite clear.

I sigh and groan about not sure of how to take the conversation with Kayden. Tossing and turning and failing to gain comfort, I get back up and head to the bathroom. A bath will help, right? I run the bath water a little on the hot side of my normal, but I did not care. I added in a bath bomb and bubble bath, followed by some essential oils. They were different than the ones in my room, but they will work fine. Once the bath is full, I sink down fully almost completely covering myself with water. I soak for a couple hours before there was a knock on the door. Oh no… maybe I should have asked first.

“Uh, y-yes.” I stammer.

“You missed breakfast, but lunch is here if you would like to join us.” The strong voice of the alpha sounds through the door.

“O-okay Alpha. Just a minute.” I stumble the words.

I leap out of the tub and drain it. Then I wipe it down and dry myself. I find an oversized shirt sitting folded on the table. Unknowing how it got there, I put it on anyway. Then I walk out of the bathroom, hair still dripping. I see all three of the boys, and sigh, sitting down between Jayce and Leviathan. Not even paying attention to Kayden. His earlier comments still running through my brain as if on replay. This is my defensive mode. I do not like being hurt, and his words… I do not even know how to take them.

“Asena, you have not said anything. Is everything all right? Did the big bad Kayden say something he should not have?” Jayce mocks Kayden.

“Jayce, have you ever known me to be so cruel? Uh, do not answer that.” Kayden retorts.

“You two are like children. Bickering back and forth like siblings.” I say to them.

“There would be a reason for that we are all brothers.” Leviathan explains and my jaw drops.

“Way to spoil the fun.” Jayce scoffs.

“She would have found out sooner or later.” Kayden states.

“It is better she knows now, then end up sleeping with all three of us and then finding out.” The alpha says and I choke on my food.

Once I catch my breath, I say, “I never intended to sleep with any of you. Sexually or not.”

“You say that now, but I will bet you end up with one of us. We three saved your ass. It is a classic saving a damsel in distress act. It is rudimentary for any male wolf.” Leviathan explains.

I cross my arms and refuse to eat any more. I have lost my appetite. This is all some game to them. No wonder they do not have mates yet. I slouch in my chair. The boys look at me and I turn my chair to face away from them. I cannot believe I even thought for a second that any of them would be more than a dog… I roll my eyes. Males.

“Oh, come on, Asena. Lighten up. We may be brothers, but we each respect the other. Most of the time. We are just trying to increase our chances with you. You are an incredibly special wolf.” Jayce comments.

“Oh, come on! The only thing you guys want is sexual relations. You do not care about me as a person or a wolf. You just want me in bed. There is nothing special about me. You are just trying to sweet talk me into your bed! Well, I have had it! I am not some token prize to be won from a game of chase! I will be going back to my room tonight. I will fight if I have too, there will be no wolf or anyone able to get me in their bed.” I cross my arms and huff.

“Oh, someone got a little feisty with their heat. I like it.” Leviathan smirks.

“You think my feelings are just some joke, huh? Well, well, fuck you all!” I storm out of the alpha’s room and down the tower stairs, until I realize I do not know which floor I am on, so I sit down on the steps by an exit.

The door opens and yet another male wolf-boy comes in. I groan. Can I not escape these… these… men! I sigh and watch the boy with a curious expression on his face. He looks like he is fair skinned with blond hair. Unsure of his eyes though. He looks directly at me and jumps slightly.

“Who are you, and what are you doing here? I need to call the alpha.” The young man says.

“I am the alpha’s guest so to speak. He already knows I am here. I just left him and his betas in his quarters. They rather upset me. All three of them. I thought they would have been… different somehow but was wrong. There is no difference between them and any other male wolf on this damn planet.” I vent.

“Uh, well, um… I am Luka. I am an adult, but mid-rank. What is your rank if you are friends with the alpha?” the man asks me.

“Friends? Do not make me laugh. He just wants me in his bed. Just like his two damn betas and any other male… well unmated males…” I say, sighing.

“Um… I do not really pay that much attention, I guess. I believe if you do not get to know the person first, there is no point in having any relation with them. There has been many of us that have been hurt in the past. It sounds like you have too. Otherwise, I do not see why you would harbor so much hate towards guys.” Luka says to me.

“You said your name was Luka? The alpha has renamed me Asena. I have no idea why he would name me after the mother, but he did. I am currently a captured rogue that the Alpha assumed pity on. I have no idea what to do with my self anymore. He could have ended it all last night, but he did not. I do not really know much about relationships including friendship. I was not allowed to spend much time outside my pack house I was in. So, as you can imagine, I got rather lonely. The pack had my whole life set out for me. I was not even allowed to choose a mate. One was chosen for me. I left because of the person I was supposed to be mated to, was a complete tyrant.” I say softly.

He smiles at me, “I will be your friend, but you never answered me about your rank.”

I sigh, heavily, “I have no rank at this time. I have not earned my place among any pack. This is after all, my first heat.” I cross my arms over my knees.

“It is okay. I will not judge. That is not how I am. I am a gamma of this pack. One of the hunters. There are several gammas in this pack, but I am one of the better ones. Personality wise and skill wise. I cannot wait to see your ranking challenge. I hope I get to fight you. That would make our friendship better.” He says, calmly, before pulling into standing and kissing my hand.

I blush, “You seem, different.”

“Ah little lady, I am not like most male wolves. I have full control over my body, even when a female is in heat. I do not allow the wolf to take control over me.” He explains.

“Asena!” I hear footsteps thundering down the stairs, and Luka leaves before I can say bye. I glance up the stairs to await my suiter.

I sigh and wait for the thundering paws to reach me. It does not take long. The one that appears is none other than the one I least wanted to see, Kayden. I groan and cover my face with my hand. The last thing I need is more of his preaching about his brothers. I turn and sit on the bottom step again avoiding his strong gaze. Though I can still feal it. I cannot tell if he is mad or not.

“Come to take me back to that damn room?” I spat out.

“No, I came to apologize. Some of the things said were, rude. Here I was trying to get you to give them a chance, and they keep pushing your buttons in all the wrong ways. I am sorry about earlier too. I should not have gotten so frustrated. I know this is new to you and I also know it will be difficult to get past what you dealt with. I promise to be more, patient and less, pushy?” he sounds confused.

I giggle slightly, “I promise to try to be more in control of my emotions. They are everywhere right now. I am sorry too. I should not have run out on you guys or lunch. I was acting out of context for my usual self. I will try to do better.”

“You have a cute laugh. You should not apologize for your emotions. You have a right to feel whatever you feel. If a person or wolf, cannot accept you for who you are, even with your emotional outbursts, then they are not right for you.” Kayden steps in front of me and holds out his tan hand, and I take it. “Let us get you to your room. I will have Jayce bring your food so he can apologize too. He was ridiculous at lunch. He should know better than to act like that.”

For the first time, I look at him. He looks closely to the way his brother looks; tan skin, dark hair, and amber eyes, but his eyes were softer, not so harsh. I look away quickly as my cheeks begin to burn. He is not as tall as the alpha either. I stand and pull my hand away, but he grabs it again and pulls me up one flight of stairs before entering the floor. I see the room that was assigned to me and instantly calm down, feeling relief. He must have felt my relief because he loosened his grip.

“Um, thanks.” I say still blushing.

“You are seriously too cute for your own good. Also, you are way to kind. You need to gain a backbone if you want to survive in this pack. We fight like it’s our last. When you do your ranking challenges, you will be thrown about like a rag doll. They will fight until death or submission. You need to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Despite our rules, we still have those who try to take cheap shots, and cheat. You will be bruised and probably have broken bones. A true fighter never quits until they get what they want or die trying. You will most likely start either later today or possibly tomorrow. I hope you are well rested. You will need your stamina.” He sounds worried.

“Oh, Kayden. I know how to fight. It is a requirement of a family like the one I was born into. We learn from a young age. We practice daily. It is a part of our daily routine. I am not worried about a few scrapes and broken bones. I submitted to your alpha because I have no rank and I knew what he was. I was trying to show respect. Just know that I am no stranger to battle. I have a few advantages that most do not really know of.” I explain.

“Sounds like you have confidence as well. Another good quality to have in a pack.” Kayden says.

“Well, I guess you can have Jayce bring the food. I do not understand him… why is he so obsessed with women?” I ask disgusted.

“That is a story for him to tell you. I am sorry for this.” He pulls me close to him and kisses me. Shivers run through my body like lightning. “I had to at least see what your reaction would be.”

My hand goes to my lips. “Is this a joke to you? Tease me because I have no experience? Play around like my feelings have no meaning? That is exactly what it feels like with all three of you… men.”

“I said I was sorry for it. I had to know if there was anything. There was not. You are safe from me. You do not have what I need.” Kayden says coldly, before leaving.

I scream into a pillow so frustrated at the feelings I am getting. He did not have to be a JERK! I sigh after screaming one more time into the pillow. What is his problem with me anyway? He was so nice before. Why has he changed his attitude? Whatever did I do? This is so unfair. I head to the closet to find different clothes aside from the long shirt. Found a pair of shorts and a tank top. I put them on instead. Then I leave the closet and run straight into Jayce. I gasp as we crash into the floor, I end up on top, straddling him.

My eyes widen, “I am so sorry.”

He wraps his arms around me and turns me on my back, “If you wanted my attention, you needed only ask.”

I gasp, “That is not what I was going for! Let me up, please.”

“I think not. I like you on your back. We were interrupted earlier.” He nips my neck and caresses my breast through my shirt. “I will not go all the way, but I want to show you a good time. I want you to feel.”

“I can feel fine. Honestly, what I said earlier seems true still. You only want one thing. I do not think we are compatible. I do not think I fit with any of you three. You are only giving me this attention because I entered my first heat.” I state boldly.

“I wanted you the first time I saw you, so that last comment is inaccurate. At least with me. I cannot speak for Levi or Kade.” Jayce admits.

I huff, “I do not understand any of you. What about me is so damn special?” I exclaim.

“We do not know, Asena. I love that name. Asena. So, pretty, and unique, just like the wolf it belongs to.” Jayce strokes my side with his fingertips.

I shiver, “You can seriously stop now.”

“I do not think I will. I am not quite done yet. Not until I get a better reaction.” He whispers in my ear before nipping it.

“Please stop. I do not want to do anymore. I have been here less than 24 hours, and barely know any of you.” I beg.

“That is what makes it fun. When you do not know someone, that makes it easier to forget them if they are not what you are wanting.” Jayce simply states.

“So, annoying. I want you guys to back off me. At least for now. I have not even gotten settled in and I have you three after me.” I complain.

“So? Get over it.” Jayce says.

I groan and shove him off me and setting my foot on his chest when I stand. “I said to back off.”

He grabs my leg and throws me to the ground and sits on me. “I don’t want to.”

I shift into wolf tearing my clothes, and snap at his forearm, grazing the skin. He jumps off me and I twist my body so that I am standing. I lower my head and growl at him. Shifting into wolf himself, he also lowers his head and growls. It is a stand-off. Whoever backs down first, looses, and I was not about to give into him. I knew it would be a long one, because we are both stubborn and determined. Time passes by, with little movement. We stand staring at each other, growling, waiting for someone to either strike, or drop in submission. Neither was happening, not from me. I have had enough.

He paces not taking his eyes off me. I simply watch his body language. Watching to see if he will strike. He just paces, seeming to be unsure of what to do. He had never had a female react to him that way. Finally, after a long while, he lays down, but not in submission. Just as if he is done with the stand-off. I sit down not wanting to venture close to him.

The door bursts open, “Jayce, what is going on? She needs to be brought down for the start of her ranking process.” Leviathan demands.

“Of course. I will bring her right down. By the way, this girl has an attitude.” Jayce says, after transforming into human.

“She is also going through her first heat. That is a common thing with women.” Leviathan states.

“Well, I find her attitude a bit disrespectful. She acted as if she wanted to challenge me.” Jayce says.

“Sounds about right. You probably were pushing her too far. You tend to do that when you really want something.” the alpha sighs.

I roll my eyes and shift, “He’s a jerk. I told him to back off me and he kept pressing forward. So, I did what I could and shifted to protect myself.”

Leviathan smacks the back of Jayce’s head, “Are you an idiot or simply incompetent? I told you not to force yourself on her. Let her get through her first heat. Then we will figure out other stuff. Are you trying to piss me off?”

“I am sorry, alpha. It will not happen again. I will step back until after she is finished with her heat. However, after that, she is free game.” Jayce says fuming.

“I am not! I have a choice. If I refuse you, then you leave me alone. It is that simple. I will begin looking when I am ready for a relationship. Right now, it is too early for one. I barely know any of you and I have not gotten settled in, not to mention I have not finished my ranking yet… So, as far as I am concerned, no one will have me until I feel like it.” I almost scream.

“Well, you will do your climb today. You will finish it today. You will fight until you cannot anymore. The moment you submit, it is over. Your rank will be decided based on your fighting skill and abilities, as well as what level your opponent is. I suggest you shift back into your wolf and walk with Jayce down to the arena.” Leviathan explains.

I nod and shift. Then I fallow Jayce down some stairs and outside into an open area. We fallow a trail through a wooded area before reaching a crater in the ground. The place they call the arena, I am guessing. There are wolves circling around it, eager to watch the fights. I sigh and walk down to the center of the circle. The first few fights went by quick. Once they added in a second fighter it took a little longer but still rather quick. It went like this for five or six rounds. Then they had me fight two gammas. That took a lot out of me, but I managed to beat them. The next opponent is a large wolf, not as big as the betas, but still large. This fight took an hour for me to beat. Then out comes Jayce. I shake my head. I do not want to be at his rank and the only rank left after his, would be alpha rank or Luna rank. I certainly do not want that. Also, I am so tired and worn out. I sigh and submit. I did not want to fight him. I knew I would not have stood a chance against him. Not in my current state. Maybe if I were in tip top shape, but he has way more muscle compacity than I do. I am surprised I lasted this long.

“She submits. Her rank is delta. Treat her with respect. She fought well and has henceforth gained the proper rank within her skill range. She is Delta Asena. She will become one of our pack soon, so get used to her being around.” Leviathan speaks using his alpha tone.

The arena is filled with howls of excitement. Wolves come to me and greet me as is custom in a ranking challenge, once rank is placed. After being greeted, I begin walking back towards the pack house, but pause, remembering that I would most likely be moved to another area. I groan then sigh, accepting the thought.

“Excuse me, Alpha, am I to be switching rooms tonight?” I ask, shifting.

“No. Not until after your heat is over. Then we will switch you. There are far too many male deltas without mates. They are young as well, so they do not have the control. Unless you want to lose your virginity to a random wolf, I think its best you stay in the room you have.” Leviathan states.

“Yes sir. I will do as you ask, but please, do not try to get inside me anymore, at least until I know my own feelings on the matter, please.” I reinforce.

“I was not planning on it. I forget sometimes that you ladies have your own feelings. I am just used to them crawling to me, begging for me. I will do my best to respect you, as you have respected me.” Leviathan says to me.

“That is all I ask. I know I really should not ask it, because I owe you, my life. However, I have never dealt with this change before, so it might be a while before I am ready to give up my virginity. I just want you and your brothers to accept and respect me. I do not know what you see in me, though.” I contemplate.

“Jayce will take some time for him to respect you, and Kayden is already keeping his distance from you. He did not actually say why. We all have had our issues with women. Jayce has been hurt the most though. He will never tell you that, but just know it is hard for him to respect a female.” Leviathan explains.

“I see. If he has been hurt, then why does he keep pushing me to have relations with him?” I ask.

“That is just how he is. He wants you. There is something about you that all of us want. We are not sure what it is exactly, but we want you. That is the truth. I was hoping by pushing you, that you would reveal that special thing about you.” The alpha says sadly.

“I am sorry, but I do not think there is anything special about me. I think you are all delusional. I am nothing but a normal wolf that came from a high-class wolf pack. If anything, it is my bloodline. That is what I am thinking. Nothing else makes sense.” I state.

“I doubt it is your bloodline. We have a strong bloodline ourselves. We are descendants of the gods. That is why I am so… powerful, as you put it.” Leviathan explains.

“I see. That makes sense, I guess. That does not mean I will fall right into your arms or melt at your mere touch. I am not out for fame or fortune. I do not care about bloodlines. I care about the wolves, themselves. You know, who they are on the inside?” I mention.

“I am aware. I am not oblivious to others. It may not seem like I pay attention, but I do. It is part of being an alpha. You need to be always aware of your surroundings. All the time. Let us head to the dining hall for supper. Your ranking took all afternoon, after all.” He begins walking but pauses to wait for me.

I walk to him but remain behind him, as my rank is below his. “Sorry. I was unsure of how it would be.”

“You are swift, cunning, fast, tricky… almost like a fox in wolves clothing.” Leviathan states.

“I have always been quick on my feet. I learned at a young age, how to use my size to my advantage. I am not as big as you all, but I know how to win a fight. As you saw.” I beam with pride.

“You will make a fine delta. As soon as you become a part of the pack, you will be allowed two gammas.” The alpha says.

“Why two? Is it not usually one?” I ask confused.

“In this pack, since you are an unmated female, you will have two as a protection. They will be your… bodyguards in a way. The gammas are your betas.” He explains.

“I know what gammas are in comparison to delta. High-society family. Well educated, except for sexually. I know many things. The name Asena comes from Roman culture. She is the Mother of werewolves in a way. I mean she is a wolf that had kids with a human, so the babies would have to be half wolf half man. Just like a werewolf. In my old pack, there was a kind of prophecy, type thing. I do not believe it myself, but it basically states that the mother will be reborn as a werewolf. Kind of like either punishment or reward. I did not pay much attention to it.” I admit.

“Who knows, maybe that is why I get the feeling you are special, and how the name Asena, suits you so well. You are beautiful. Honestly.” He holds out his hand and I take it. He leads me back to the pack house dining hall. Maybe he is not as bad as I originally thought after all.

We eat supper and I get lead back to my room. I decide to soak in the tub for a couple hours before climbing out. I do not even bother to dress myself. Instead, I walk over to my bed and plop down, exhaustion overwhelming me. That ranking challenge was rough. I wonder if they will still make me have a babysitter… it is rather annoying. I understand they need to gain my trust, but I have not even tried to run. I have tried nothing. Done nothing but what they ask of me.

I take a deep breath, smelling the clean sheets. I smile shifting to wolf, laying on top of the sheets. I do not need them in wolf form. I lay, unable to sleep, despite my exhaustion. Hour after hour pass by. Then after about four hours, I fall asleep…

Oh, child of the raven clan, I call to you in your sleep. There are things you need to know.

First, you are more than what you think. You are a part of me. A reincarnate.

Second, you must not tell anyone. If you do, you will put lives in danger. You must be careful from here on out.

Third, you must find your true mate. He is out there, somewhere. He might even be with the pack you are staying with. Search for him and find him. You will know when it is the right time.

I wake up briefly before falling back asleep. This time there is no dream. Nothing in my mind, just empty space. I am unsure of what to think about the message I received in my dream, but perhaps the prophecy was true. Maybe, just maybe, I really am the mother reincarnated.

--------Chapter 3

A few days have passed since my being announced a delta. I am beginning to figure out my way around the pack house, not without an escort still, but that is fine. The three brothers have left me alone since my first day here. My heat is over now, but I doubt they will be bothering me any time soon. Kayden has not said much to me the last few days either. Jayce has tampered down, and Leviathan has grown more kind. He does not scare me as much anymore. Unless he uses his alpha tone, that still frightens me. I have not had any other strange dreams since I was told I was a reincarnate of the mother. Which in a way makes me kind of like a princess? I mean there are clans or packs that worship the mother along with the gods.

As I relax in bed tossing a ball in the air and catching it, I think of what I should do for the day. There is not much to do since I am still not a full member of the pack. I have met a few new people, but I keep my distance from most of them. The brothers have been super busy with things happening among pack members. Stuff I am not able to be included in. So, they have other pack members, usually deltas, watch me. They each take their turns. It is never the same one two days in a row. That is why I do not even bother with formalities.

“Asena? Are you in there? I brought your breakfast.” A semi-familiar voice calls from outside the door.

“Yeah. Bring it in and set it on the table. I will eat in a little bit.” I reply.

The door opens revealing a young male, close to my age. Luka. I smile sweetly as I see the blond bringing the tray of food to the bedside table. I stop throwing the ball and sit up in bed. He sets the tray down and turns away. I grab his hand to stop him.

“Asena? What is it?” Luka asks.

“Um, well… can you keep me company for a while? I have not had a decent conversation for a couple days and could really use one, but if you do not want to, I understand.” I admit.

“I am not much of a talker, young lady. However, I think I can spare a few minutes.” The blond says.

“I am just feeling a little lonely, I guess. Usually, I have one of the brothers to talk to, but they have been so busy with whatever is going on. I just want some time with someone, but I am shy when it comes to talking to new people. I know we have not talked much at all, before, but you seem like a kind enough wolf to chat with.” I mumble.

“I can only spare a few minutes. I have other work to do, I am afraid. However, if it will make you happy… as long as it’s not all babbles.” He states.

“Right. Tell me a little about yourself. What do you like? Do you read?” I ask.

“I do enjoy reading. I spend most of my time in the library when I am not out hunting. I may be lanky, but I am a strong wolf either way. I was a bit surprised you did not have to fight me at your rank challenge. I am one of the best fighters. Kind of like you. Now, what kinds of things does a pretty little lady like to do?” He asks.

“Uh, well… I do not actually know. I do not have many friends, so going out is not really an option. I am usually stuck here suffering in pure boredom. There is not much I can do really, anyway. I am bound to an escort. I cannot do anything on my own.” I sigh loudly.

He lifts my chin having me look at him. Violet, his eyes are violet. “Well, I can be your friend, but I am usually busy in the library. You know, organizing books and stuff.”

“Everyone is busy. I wish I could be involved. You know, do something other than sit in my room.” I say to him.

“I wish I could help, but we all have our duties to perform. Since you are not a member yet, you do not. I understand it can be boring, especially since you must have someone with you all the time. You just need to prove that you can be trusted. Then soon enough you will be able to wonder the grounds by yourself.” He explains.

I sigh, “Yeah, yeah. How can I prove I can be trusted if they do not have anything for me to do? I mean would it not prove something if they were to leave my room unguarded? Or maybe even have me do some work around here. I am starting to feel more and more like a prisoner, rather than a guest-like person.”

“They have their reasons as to why, I am sure. Right now, they are working on the moon festival. Did you not celebrate it in your old pack?” he asks me.

“No. We were told it was a waste of time. There was no point in it. Some wolves still tried to but got into trouble for it. That is what happens when you are raised in a severely strict environment. We still had others around all the time to talk to. Right now, I am feeling so lonesome, and avoided. Like no one likes me or wants to be around me.” I state.

This time he sighs, “I wish I could help you, but I have to get going. I have work to do. I just wanted to make sure you got breakfast. You should probably eat it before it gets cold. You might need the strength later.”

“Right… I will be stuck here by myself again tonight. I guess I will talk with you later then.” I say sadly.

“Sorry.” He says, walking out of my room.

I look at the tray of food, and my stomach growls, but I do not feel like eating. Instead, I stand and walk to the window, and look. I see decorations and busy wolves roaming about trying to get everything ready. I feel a pang in my chest, wanting to join them. I do miss belonging to a pack. It is my own fault though. I chose to leave mine behind. Maybe I should allow Leviathan to have me. Maybe then he will trust me. Though I am not too keen on the thought. Then again, there is Jayce, who has been after me since I got here, but he is such a womanizer. There is also Kayden, who seems very distant now. They said one of the three would be my first. Honestly, I think they are all too much for me. I do not know why they seem so confident that I will fall for them. I do not think I could choose one if I had to. Though, the one that has been most kind, is the one that has not spoken with me much at all lately. Not since he kissed me. I groan. Why are men so complicated? Or maybe they are just so simple they seem complicated. What I know, is if they try to take me now, I am not sure I can resist them. Each one has their own thing about them that is attractive. As far as Luka goes, he seems kind and sweet, but I doubt he is the one for me. I have been trying to figure out that dream… me a reincarnate of the mother? Having to find my true mate? Where do I even start? How will I know? Do I have to have sex to figure it out? Looking in their eyes, is not enough. Simply touching them, is not enough. How am I supposed to figure it out? She did not say I could not have relations… she just said I need to search for the right one. I suppose, if Leviathan wanted to court me, I would allow it. Same with Jayce and Kayden. I like them, but also hate them. Is that normal? I know! I will go on a date with each of them, to get to know them. Oh, but which one first? Probably should let Leviathan take me first… he is the alpha and the reason I am still alive… but who after that? Jayce or Kayden? Jayce will probably be the next one, because Kayden is not talking to me really. Maybe I will just forget about Kayden then. He seems to have forgotten about me. That jerk. I was really starting to like him a lot too. He was so kind to me at first. Now he is just a… a… I don’t know. I sigh.

I run to the closet, “Let me see if I have anything cute to wear.” I say to myself as I rummage through the clothes. I come across a short black dress that looks like it is made of leather. “This could work.” I also find some thigh high fishnets and knee-high platform boots, also made of leather, and then I spot some leather gloves and a choker. I run to the bathroom and take a quick shower, shave, and wash my hair, before getting out. I dry myself and get dressed in the clothes I found. I look in the mirror and a huge grin forms on my thin lips. My caramel-colored skin glimmers against the black leather dress. My obsidian hair flows down mid-back. My emerald eyes shine like stars in the night sky. I have never realized how beautiful I actually am. I turn from one side to the other checking the form of the dress against my skin. I look like perfection. A knock interrupts my glory moment.

“Yes? Who is it?” I ask, but there is no answer. How strange. I think to myself before walking out of the bathroom and to the door. I open it and there is no one. How very strange. I know I heard someone knocking. I shrug and sit down. Then I notice that the trey I had by the bed is gone and replaced by a new one. This time, I decide to eat. Roast beef and mashed potatoes are one of my favorite dishes. Once finished, I take the trey and set it outside my door. Not sure what else to do, I walk back to the window. My eyes fall on the three brothers and how busy they all look. I want to yell to them, but at the same time, I don’t want to interrupt them. They are organizing the festivities after all. I lean my head on my left hand and watch them. A sudden urge comes over me. Something I have never felt before. I wanted them, and I wanted them in a bad way. I did not care who I had first, but I wanted them all. The wolf within me stirs wildly wanting to jump on them, wanting to get their attention. She wanted their attention on her and her alone, well me. We are the same after all.

Suddenly my eyes and Leviathans eyes lock, and my female parts get damp. As if knowing exactly that, his mouth forms a grin and I turn and drop to the floor in embarrassment. I know what it means also, but I am not sure that I am truly ready for it to happen. However, it was already too late. He knew that I wanted him. He knew that my body was craving his attention, or any attention at that. I just knew that he would be showing up at my room as soon as he could get away, to take me, and I would not be able to stop him. Not this time for sure. I never had to try before, he stopped on his own. The thought of his body on mine makes me lick my lips and moan a little. Realizing what I just did, I get even more embarrassed and turned on. I have never had thoughts like that before.

“Do not be embarrassed, mon chèrie. It is but natural.” An unknown voice enters my mind.

“Who are you?” I respond but receive no answer. Wondering who it might be. I think of all the wolves I have spoken with to try to match the voice, but no one fits. Not one of them talks like that. Who could this stranger be? How can they contact me? I stand and pace the room thinking of who this stranger could possibly be and how they would know me, when suddenly the door to my room flies open and a slender yet muscular male comes inside. His grin is full of dark intent, his hair red like fire, his eyes stone cold silver, and olive skin. He lets out a low throaty growl.

I gasp unsure of what to do, when he grabs me by the waist and throws me onto the bed. His hands move up my thighs to my underwear and he starts to pull them down. I squirm to try to get away from him, but this seems to only encourage him. He tears my underwear off me because they would not go over the boots. Then his left hand pulls my arms over my head holding them tightly. Leaning down he takes a big whiff of the air and moans, enjoying the smell. Frightened, I try to escape his clutches. He begins moving my skirt up with his other hand when my door bursts open again revealing none other than Leviathan himself. Leviathan shifts into his wolf form and lets out an extremely deep growl. This seems to work as the other male releases me and drops down to the floor as if apologizing. Then runs out like his tail is between his legs. I get up from the bed and run over to the alpha and wrap my arms around him as much as I can.

“I tried to get away. He was overpowering me. I am so sorry. I didn’t want him.” I say trying not to cry.

Leviathan shifts back to human and wraps his arms around my waist, “He is gone now. No need to worry. You really should start locking your door though. Especially if you are getting aroused. I could smell it outside when you were looking at me. Although it was faint. I have to ask though, what got you so aroused anyway?”

“I don’t actually know. It was rather random and sudden. I just got a sudden urge to be with you three boys. As weird as that sounds. I wanted to set up dates with each of you and then suddenly I wanted to be in proximity of you guys. I WANTED the three of you. When our eyes locked, it just… got intense.” I explain, embarrassed.

He lifts an eyebrow at me, “All three of us? Like at the same time? That would be awkward. They are my brothers.”

“Not at the same time. It was like I wanted one of you three but didn’t care which one I got. Then you looked at me. That was it for me. My mind started to wonder, and it got worse. Sorry.” I say to the alpha.

He lifts my chin and kisses me deeply. I pull him closer to me, wanting his body touching mine. He breaks the kiss and pulls away standing and locking the door. He then lifts me and carries me to the bed setting me down gently. He kisses me again and his hand rubs my thigh caressing it. He moves one of his legs in between mine causing me to shift my legs open.

He stops the kiss, “Are you sure you want this? You won’t be able to take it back once it happens.”

“Shut up and just do it. It is obvious this is what my body wants. I owe it to you.” I state.

He grins with pleasure and bites my neck causing me to moan. He sucks on the spot he bit, making it extra sensitive when his tongue flicks over it. He climbs on the bed fully and pushes my skirt up and uses his fingers to rub my throbbing vaginal region. Another moan escapes my lips. “Don’t be embarrassed, my dear Asena. That is a good sign. It means I am doing my job.” He says, which makes me feel less embarrassed.

He shifts his body and moves my legs up onto his shoulders. He slowly enters my body as to not hurt me. Slowly thrusting at first, but soon speeds up and thrusts harder. I have never felt so much before. I was in heaven. After a long while, he thrusts deep a few times and I feel his essence enter inside me. He waits for a couple minutes before pulling out and collapsing beside me. We are both panting trying to catch our breath. Neither of us say anything for a while. We just lay there, close to each other.

I take a deep breath. “Can you tell me something?”

“Depends on what.” He responds.

“Why does Kayden hate me? What did I do to him to make him not talk to me?” I ask him.

“That’s two somethings.” He chuckles but then gets serious. “Unfortunately, it is not my place to say. Do I know what happened? Kind of. He is very mistrusting. He will tell you when the time is right. I do not think he hates you though. Do you like him?”

“Huh? Like him? Like him how? I mean sure he was nice to me from the beginning. Then he kissed me and said there was nothing there and hasn’t really talked to me since. So, in terms of liking him, I would say I thought he was my first friend. My only friend. Now there really is nothing. He does not even say hi to me. He just gives me the cold shoulder like I did something wrong, and I do not know what that is.” I sigh.

“You do like him. You wouldn’t worry so much about it if you didn’t. Damn, here I thought I might be able to steal the girl from him. I’m sure I will find someone.” He states.

“I have not chosen anyone. I like all of you. You saved me. I hated my life in my old pack. I like it here, except the fact that I can’t really get out to make friends. You don’t seem to trust me yet.” I mutter.

“We are being cautious. That is all. You came from a different pack. We want to be sure you aren’t a spy with ulterior motives.” He explains.

“If I were a spy, why would I worry about how any of you thought of me? You scared the hell out of me when we first met, and still do. You are an alpha though. A rather strong alpha at that. I wouldn’t want to cross paths with you if I were an enemy.” I state.

He laughs at that, “Don’t be afraid of me. I only use my alpha tone when I need to. Usually, I am a decent guy. You can ask anyone in the pack. I do not misuse my power or abuse it. I use it for defending my pack, protecting my family.”

“I’ve come to realize this about you. However, you still scare the hell out of me regardless. I am a lower rank than you. It’s to be expected.” I say to him.

“Fair enough. When it’s just us, though, I’m just Leviathan. No need for alpha/delta relationship when it’s you and me. Unless of course it is for your duties, like hunting and such.” He says to me.

“I think it’s time you and Kayden have a little chat. He needs to man up and deal with it. He only listens to me, and usually if it’s something like this, I end up having to use my alpha ability.” He sighs.

“Don’t push him. If he doesn’t want to talk to me, then I will just have to deal with it. I will show him how much of a woman I can be. By the way, you know I held back during my ranking challenge, don’t you?” I ask, knowingly.

“Yes, I figured you had your reasons. I bet you could have taken Jayce down though. He is a good fighter, but you have talent in fighting. You are quick, flexible, and can think fast. I was thoroughly impressed with your ability for being a smaller wolf. We should have a private match some time. No stakes obviously.” He smirks.

“I may have been able to take Jayce down, but I doubt I could take you down. Maybe someday we can try it. Once I’m a little more skilled.” I smile slightly.

“There, that’s the pretty smile I was waiting for. Sadly though, I have duties to perform. Jayce will probably come up here and chide you for me being your first and not him. He will be able to smell you on me, well, they all will. That’s just the thing with sex though. Your scents mingle.” He stretches before getting out of my bed and getting dressed. He smirks again and waves at me before leaving.

I sigh. Alone again. Why does everyone have to be so busy? I stand up and straighten out my dress that Leviathan had pushed up and wrinkled. I smell like him. At least it’s not a bad smell. It honestly smells rather good. I walk to the bathroom and brush my messed-up hair. I hear the door slam against the wall causing me to jump. I walk out and see a rather pissed off Jayce.

“Asena, how could you let HIM have you first? I tried and tried to get your attention and he did nothing, yet you sleep with him first? How is that even fair?” Jayce asks steaming.

“Jayce, he got it first because he got here first. If you would have come here first it would have been you. Simple as that. I have been feeling extremely lonely lately and my body seems to want sex, I guess. He just happened to show up first.” I explain.

“So, I still have a chance with you?” He inquires.

“As long as you stop storming into my room all crazed. I am a woman. I need my privacy too.” I state. “Besides, I like you all. I can’t choose just one of you right now. Not until I know for sure what my heart wants.”

“So, you are just going to have all three of us? Like for real? I can role with it. I don’t know how the others will react, well… Kayden…” Jayce says.

“How does his opinion matter. He won’t even talk to me. So, if I choose to sleep with you and Leviathan, and it pisses him off even more it’s not like I will be missing anything. I am tired of being in the dark with him. If he can’t man up and talk to me then maybe its best, he doesn’t come near me, ever.” I retort.

“You don’t actually mean that. You said you liked all three of us. If that’s the case, it really bothers you that he isn’t talking to you. Let me take your mind off him. You can focus on me for a while.” Jayce teases.

“You’d like that wouldn’t you.” I tease back.

“You know I would. I’d gladly take you anytime, anywhere.” He grins.

“I bet you say that to all the girls. Is that one of your favorite lines?” I accuse.

“Hey now, you are the one that said you would have had me if I’d have gotten here first. So, why not make good on that and let’s have some fun. I’d like to know how I rank in comparison to the alpha.” Jayce wriggles his eyebrows.

I giggle at that, “You are so weird. Taking the girl your brother just had. Just to see how you compare in, sex? That is seriously weird.”

“Says the girl who wants to have sex with all three of us.” Jayce states.

“Yeah, that’s just as weird I suppose.” I say, pondering. “It’s more along the lines of my body wants you guys. My mind is saying I’m crazy.”

“Listen to your body. It knows what it wants. Your mind can be pushed aside… for a little while longer.” Jayce states confidently. “You know you want it. You want to feel me inside you. You want to know what it’s like with the Jay-man.”

“The Jay-man? Really?” I ask confused at the name.

He unzips my dress pulling it down revealing my breasts. He takes one in his mouth, sucking and nibbling on the nipple, while his hand fondles the other. He removes his shirt showing a very toned chest and abdomen. His eyes are like golden honey. I run my hands through his lighter brown hair. He puts me on my back removing the dress fully before taking the rest of his garments off, revealing an erection. I lick my lips.

“Like what you see?” he asks slyly.

He takes the invitation and struts back over to me. He wraps my legs around his chiseled hips lifting my bottom half off the bed slightly, and slowly enters me. Which I admit, I cannot beat Kayden in battle and I’m not as good as he is, but it’s because he is older that he has the first beta position.” Jayce explains.

“I see. So, you all are older than me. That’s why you know more about things.” I say sadly.

“If he ever opens up to me. I swear that man hates me.” I mumble.

“He… hmm… I wish I could tell you, but…” Jayce is cut off.

“It’s not your place. So, everyone keeps telling me.” I finish Jayce’s sentence.

“You guys are seriously weird. Though, I wonder if it would do the same for me…” I ponder.

I have had enough. I shift to wolf and run out the door. I’m not sure where I am heading but I can’t stand those two fighting. I run out of the house, through the courtyard and past the valley to a small lake. Unsure if I am still in their territory or not, I take caution, while I lay by the river. I listen for any noises and sniff the air for any scents. After a few minutes pass I catch the scent of Kayden. I fight the urge to run, instead I wait patiently for him to arrive. Once he reaches me, he growls a deep growl. I stand and lower my head and growl back. He takes a step closer, and I step back. “What the hell do you think you are doing?” He asks me.

I whimper and step back before shifting, “I was trying to apologize. I don’t have the ability to mind link since I am not in a pack. I didn’t like you two arguing. I couldn’t take it. All I want is some sort of explanation as to why you hate me. What did I do? Aside from sleeping with your brothers. I’m sure you are even more pissed at me for that. When, honestly, the only reason I did it was because I have been extremely lonesome and wanting attention. That was the only way I could think of to get any sort of attention. Or knowing someone who spends most of their time in the library. I need to speak with Luka. He should know what books I need, and I think I can trust him to keep quiet. He doesn’t seem like the type of guy to talk to many people. That’s what I will do… I will ask him as soon as I get the chance.

I drain the tub and move to the shower, where I wash my hair and body. I turn the shower off and step out, wrapping myself and my hair in towels. Then I hear some rustling noises from my room followed by the sounds of sheets and blankets being spread over the bed. They are just changing bedding. It was an insult to the mother since she is responsible for choosing who gets to be mates. It’s one of her many gifts. There is also the bearing of children. She is the one who created the werewolves. Gave them long lives. Who’s to know the other powerful gifts she has.” He says in awe.

“Sounds like you’ve done your research on her. What would happen if there was say… a reincarnation of her?” I ask curiously.

“It is a prophecy, that one day a young werewolf will be born into a high family of wolves. She will need to find her true mate to restore that which wolves have lost. In other words, our true mate bond. It has been several centuries since that prophecy was foretold. Some think it’s just a legend, a story. Others genuinely believe it to be true.” He explains.

“I see. So, do you think it’s possible?” I press on.

“I think it to be true and should be this century that it happens. I have done tons of research as you assumed, and the calculations point to this century.” He speaks with passion and intelligence.

“Hmm. I’m not ready to give up on my true mate, even if I end up alone. So, if you could bring some books by tomorrow, that would be amazing.” I say, trying not to give away that I am the reincarnate.

“Sure thing. How about tomorrow afternoon when I bring your lunch.” He suggests.

“Perfect.” I say excitedly.

I shift back and cover myself with the towel again, “I told you she is black like my hair.”

“Well, technically I hadn’t, until you. Black wolves are rare, usually only found in high ranks or high-end families. Even our alpha isn’t black, and he is one of the strongest alpha’s I’ve ever seen.” He states.

“Silver wolves aren’t exactly easy to find either. Your alpha is the first I have seen that is silver in color.” I respond.

“I never really thought of that. Anyway, I better be going so you can eat.” He says, walking towards the door. He waves and walks out.

That guy was way more talkative then, I have ever seen him. I mean, what was with him and asking to see my wolf? That was just, plain weird. Then examining me like, that? That felt so invasive. Why was he acting so odd tonight? Or maybe that’s how he normally is… I’m not sure but that was completely uncomfortable. I sit down and eat my steak, fries, and corn. Then drink the water and avoid the wine. I stretch out on my bed and stare up at the ceiling. After about twenty minutes I hear footsteps storming to my room. I sit up and my eyes lock with non-other than Jezzabelle.

“You, dirty little whore. You couldn’t be happy with one of them? You had to have all of them, in one day, nonetheless. You are despicable.” She says with her red curls bouncing with her angry words.

“You are just jealous because I succeeded where you fail time and time again.” I state.

“Are you wanting to pick a fight with me, bitch?” she spits the words like venom.

“I’ll be happy to fight you if you want. Right here, right now. You may be a beta, but I will show you how good of a fighter this delta can be.” I hiss.

“Then shift and we will see who’s the better fighter.” She says shifting into a dirty blond colored wolf.

We take our stances and begin our stare-down. I watch her body language closely. She goes for the strike, but I dodge and bite her flank. She pulls away, tearing her flesh. She looks at it and growls at me. We lower our heads. Again, I watch her body language. She is bigger than me, but I have speed and agility to my advantage. She lunges again and I move to the left and bite into her other flank. Again, she pulls away tearing the flesh. We circle each other before taking our stances. She lunges for a third time and again misses, and I strike her front leg. She tries to take a quick shot at me, but still misses, because I watch her movements. When that doesn’t work, she tries to jump attack and I go for her throat. I clamp my jaws on her neck, and she whimpers, trying to move back but I hold tight. Leviathan appears in his wolf form and growls deep at us, this is when I finally release Jezzabelle.

He shifts, “What is the meaning of this? Jezzabelle, shift and explain. NOW!”

Although that would be kind of weird since they are brothers… but maybe it could be one of the brothers and this stranger? Can we have more than one mate? I need more information.

I turn back to the window noticing that the guy that was there is no longer. “Asena, I brought your lunch and a book.” Luka says knocking before entering. He shakes his head, “How many times must I come in and you dressed like that?”

I look down realizing I’m in my robe still. I shrug, “It’s comfortable and I didn’t feel like getting dressed just yet.”

“I’ve never had a request like that, but beings as you are both fine fighters, I suppose I could do that. Why the sudden do you not want her to suffer? Hasn’t she caused you enough suffering with all the rumors?” He asks suspiciously.

“I think, that if I beat her in a fair fight, that she will back off with the rumors and actually show some respect for me as an individual. Maybe someday her and I could become friends, as odd as that sounds.” I state.

“That would be a day to remember. You and your rival as friends. I don’t see it happening, but I suppose it is a possibility.” He ponders the thought.

“Don’t you have work to do, Mr. Alpha Man.” I tease.

“Yeah, I have to work on you.” He leans down and kisses me, picking up where Ziek left off. However, it doesn’t last long as we are interrupted by knocking on the door. He groans before walking over to the door to answer it.

“Oh, hello again, Alpha Leviathan.” Delilah says then she looks at me seeing I am naked, “Good heavens, did I interrupt you?”

“It’s fine. She needs to eat. We have training to do, her and I.” He turns to me and smirks, “Don’t we, Asena.”

“Uh, yes, he offered to help me better my fighting skills.” I respond, smiling.

“Meet me in the combat circle when you are finished up here… probably an hour and a half… will that be enough time to bathe and such?” he asks me.

“Yes, that will be plenty of time. Thank you, Alpha Leviathan.” I answer innocently. “Before you go, can you tell me how to single out a mind-link? Like only connect with one person. I have done it in my sleep but other than that I’m not sure how I do it.”

“It’s quite simple, Asena. You think of the person you want to link with and when the connection is there you will know… most of the time. We can focus on that during our training as well.” He states before walking out the door.

“Hmm. Delilah, I could use your help. I’m going to try to contact Ziek, and will you let me know if you can hear me?” I ask kindly.

“Sure, but you know who that is, right?” she asks concerned.

“Yes, and if you can’t tell by the smell in here, he was with me last night and this morning. He was the one who kept mind-linking me… remember I said something about it to you?” I ask her.

“Oh yeah, I do remember you mentioning something about it… Wait it was Beta Ziek? He is such a hunk too. It’s a bummer that he doesn’t really like me. Not that a gamma should pair with a beta anyway.” She says, sadly.

“Oh, have you two ever done anything sexual by chance?” I ask curiously.

“Oh, good heavens no. He hasn’t done anything with anyone since his last girlfriend. Unless you and he did something… which would be surprising and piss Jezzabelle off… a lot.” She explains.

“So, I have heard. Leviathan told me about that. Shall we attempt to mind-link him?”

“Okay so you need to focus on him. Then when you think you have connected with him say his name in your mind. It will be easier as you practice.”

I take a deep breath and release it. I try to focus on him, his scent, his smile, his ocean blue eyes… Ziek? Can you hear me?

Practicing, mon chèrie? His voice is smooth as silk.

I am. I don’t really know how my practice is going though I have Delilah with me helping me. I respond.

She will be a good one to teach. She has the patience of a saint. She is such a sweet girl too. Be kind to her. He says.

She is my only female friend here. Why would I do anything to ruin that? I know she is a sweetheart. I respect her even if she is lower rank, I don’t care, she is my friend, and I will keep her as such. I state.

“Thank you so much, you need to focus a little more on him.” Delilah says to me almost in tears.

I am cleaning up the huge mess we all left with Kayden, Jayce, and some of the lower ranks… well the three of us are mainly overseeing that it gets done… I hate having to babysit omegas. He chuckles through the link.

I focus more. This is not easy to do at first. Takes a lot of focus.

Yes, but keep practicing and you will do better. I don’t mind being your practice partner. I’m sure Delilah wouldn’t mind helping you out if you haven’t gotten to the point of just talking to me. He states.

I’m going to try to switch targets, let me know if you hear me. I say and change my focus to Delilah. Delilah, how am I doing? Am I any better?

You are doing good. Talk to Ziek a little more so I can be sure its single target mind-link. She tells me.

I switch back to Ziek. Did you hear me talking to Delilah?

No, I didn’t hear anything from you, and I kept our link open. You are a fast learner, aren’t you? Ziek asks.

Stop flirting with Ziek, we have a job to do, and you are distracting him. Kayden’s voice is harsh and irritated.

I switch my focus to Kayden. I am not flirting. He is helping me with mind-link just like Delilah. What has you in such a sour mood anyway… stop being such a jerk! Jealousy doesn’t suit you.

Who said anything about being jealous? We really do have a job to do, and you really are distracting us… cant you practice another time? Kayden’s voice is still harsh.

Mon chèrie? Ziek tries getting my attention.

I’m sorry Ziek, Kayden doesn’t want me bothering you when there is work to be done… guess our session is over. Thanks for helping me though. I think I got it. Switching back and forth is not easy though. I say focusing on Ziek again.

He sighs through the link. Big bad beta boy… always in my way… it’s fine. These omegas need constant watching… they are all young ones… meaning around ten or so. They are learning the ropes.

Omegas at age ten? Do all your wolves start as omegas until they do their ranking challenge? I ask.

In a way I guess you could say that. As much as I’d love to continue to chat mon chèrie, I think it best we listen to the first beta. We already almost got into trouble with the alpha once today… he answers.

True. Alright then, I will chat another time. Later. I cut the link.

“That was not easy, Delilah.” I say to her.

“Not the first few times you do it, but you seem to have picked it up rather quickly. Though you should be careful about switching targets so frequently in the beginning. Did someone jump in and say something, you looked strained.” She speaks with concern.

“Yeah, big bad beta boy, Kayden.” I giggle at the name Ziek used.

“Ouch… that had to be bad. Kayden can be strict when he is working. He isn’t all play all the time. When duty calls, he goes into serious mode and doesn’t like interruptions.” She explains.

“Yeah, he said as much. It wasn’t hurting anything; they are just watching over a bunch of young omegas as they clean up. Oh well. I don’t need all this stress.” I begin eating the food that Delilah had brought me.

“You should get cleaned up. Alpha Leviathan will be waiting for you. You have about an hour before you are to meet him in the arena.” Delilah states.

I nod finishing my food. “Just enough time for a bath. Should I go in wolf form?”

“It would probably be quicker that way.” She agrees.

“Great. Now time for a bath.” I say heading to the bathroom. “You are welcome to stay here and wait if you wish.”

“Oh, okay. I will have someone change your bedding then.” She says to me.

“Just put the book in the drawer of the bedside table.” I yell from the bathroom.

“Okay.” She yells back.

I turn the water on and add bubble bath. I get in at about the halfway mark and let it fill the rest of the way before shutting it off. A bubble bath does a girl good. I say to myself. Once I have finished bathing, I drain the tub and dry off. I wrap myself in my towel and walk into the bedroom.

“Are you curious about the true mate bond also?” I ask her.

She quickly closes it and sets it beside her, “I am so sorry. I have never seen this book before. It was so… irresistible not to look at. Sorry.”

I laugh, “Leviathan had to give special permission for me to read it. It’s very old, and usually locked up. I asked Luka if he would bring me a book about the true bond. I suppose I should get into wolf and head to the arena. If you are careful with it and put it in the drawer when you are done, I don’t mind if you read it. However, you must not tell anyone about it, understood?”

“Yes Ma’am. I won’t tell a soul.” She pics it back up and continues to read it.

I smile and shift into wolf form. Running out of my room, through the packhouse, and out the door. I notice Kayden, Jayce, and Ziek standing watch over the many omegas, and run the opposite direction to the arena.

Where are you off to in such a hurry, little princess? Jayce mind-links me.

I slow down and come to a stop. I focus on Jayce. I must go to the arena for one-on-one training. I will catch up with you later. I must go I can’t be late.

He doesn’t respond to me, so I assume he either got in trouble with Kayden or he doesn’t want to distract me. I reach the arena and pant catching my breath. Not long after my arrival, Leviathan approaches me in his silver wolf form… his massive silver wolf.

You are early, Asena. I’m impressed. Leviathan says to me.

I’d rather be early than late. I have been practicing my mind-link. I think I have it down. It’s just switching targets and being able to continue moving around that I will need more practice on. I admit focusing on Leviathan. It’s easier when I can see the one, I am mind-linked with.

You will get better in time. Now shall we begin? Leviathan smirks.

“STOP!” Jezzabelle comes running in the arena. “I don’t care what you guys are doing, but I challenge Asena to a proper wolf dual. I have had enough of her going after the people I care about. If I win, she is to be thrown in the dungeon for two weeks. That will give her enough time to think about what she has done. That is my victory claim. If she were to be lucky enough to beat me, then I will not interfere with her choices anymore.”

I shift out of wolf. “I have one request, which Alpha Leviathan already knows. Should he decide to accept or deny will be revealed only if I were to win. Is that fair, Alpha?”

He shifts back to human. “It sounds fair. I guess our training will have to wait a little longer. A challenge has been proclaimed. Do you accept then?”

“I accept her challenge, and I wish it be done in wolf form no restrictions except we do not fight until death, we fight until we cannot fight anymore, or one submits. Whichever comes first.” I state, as the one being challenged that is my benefit.

“As you wish. The challenge between Beta Jezzabelle and Delta Asena, begins now.” Leviathan states.

We both shift into wolf and enter the arena. We circle each other, sizing the other up. She is still bigger, but it seems my wolf has gotten bigger. Still slender and sleek though. She snarls and growls at me, trying to frighten me. I snap my jaws at her in response. She stops and takes her stance, as do I. She, like the time before, lunges first. I dodge to the left, backflip over her and grab her left flank, pulling her off balance and causing her to yelp. She tries to turn and grab my flank, but I release hers and dodge again. This time grabbing the side of her jaw, ripping flesh. The taste of copper enters my mouth. She shakes her head trying to throw me off, succeeding this time I am thrown back landing on my side. I shake my head. I see her coming towards me and I wait patiently. When she gets close enough, I go for her throat. Tightening my jaw just enough to make it harder for her to breathe but not do cause any permanent damage. She scratches at me with her giant paws, hitting me in the eye causing me to release her. I growl at her. Now I’m pissed. I lunge she dodges but I lunge again, and she isn’t fast enough. She is knocked on her side and I leap on her biting her in every place she leaves open, tarring flesh in several places, but not severe enough that would kill her. I howl a loud dominating howl. She keeps trying to push me off but is not successful. I grab her front left leg and bite hard, and it cracks. She looks at me in pure shock and I return her stare in a domineering way.

She shifts “I yield. No more. She’s a demon. I would rather lose my rank than fight her again.” I let her up still growling menacingly at her. She runs to her clothing and puts them on to the best of her abilities with a broken arm.

Leviathan clears his throat, “It has been decided, Asena is the victor she is now Beta Asena, as for Jezzabelle, it was requested that she keep her rank even if she loses, and I approve this request.”

Jezzabelle gasps. “That was her request? She didn’t want me to lose my rank. That’s… after all I have done? She could have humiliated me by causing me to drop in rank but didn’t… how… kind of her.”

I shift back into human form. “Listen Jezzabelle. We started off on a rough path, but that doesn’t mean we have to stick to it. I’m not a demon, and I’d like us to try to be friends at some point. I’m not saying it must be right away. Baby steps, okay. Someone told me that you really aren’t as bad as I originally thought. If you must know, you should talk to Jayce. He may not show it all the time, but he cares about you, and so does your brother. There are people around that would be your friend if you treated them differently. Including me. I think I’ve proven my point. Now I’m going to go clean up… again. I don’t like being covered in blood for long. Think about what I have said, Jezzabelle, please if not for me, do it for Jayce. He and I are no longer going to be doing anything, his choice and I agreed.” I shift back into wolf and run back to the packhouse and to my room and Delilah is still reading.

I head to the bathroom and shift to take a shower. I start the water getting it nice and hot before getting inside the shower. My eye hurts from the heat though, which means when she hit me, it gave me a black eye. I wash my body and the water goes from clear to red to pink and back to clear. Then I wash my hair. When I get all the blood out, I dry off and go to the mirror. I notice a few cuts on my side that I landed on when she threw me off, but they are already starting to heal as is my eye. I sigh and find a robe to put on. I then walk into my room.

“Hey there, Delilah. How’s the book?” I ask the strawberry blonde.

“Oh my god, it has some really good stuff in it…” she looks at me, “Oh my, rough training with the alpha?”

“No, I didn’t get a chance to train with the alpha. Instead Jezzabelle decided to publicly challenge me. So, my training got postponed. Although, I am now a beta, and Jezzabelle got to keep her rank because I had previously talked to Leviathan about it.” I say to her.

“That was really nice of you considering how awful she’s been to you.” Delilah responds.

“Here’s the thing, people misjudge others a lot. I’m sure she has a reason for why she has been acting the way she has been. Most people do. So, I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. It is then up to them as to how they react to it. I had suspected that the only way I’d get any respect from her, would be to defeat her in battle, to prove that I am worth something.” I explain. “I could have humiliated her by stripping her of the beta rank, but I wanted to show her kindness, because I don’t think many individuals do.”

“That would be correct. She treats most other women like dirt. She know she has a nice body and isn’t afraid to show it off. The guys go crazy over it. She treated you worst of all because, you got the ones she couldn’t… or wouldn’t with the exception of Rusty, her full brother. Well, I guess his actual name is Nathanial. We call him Rusty because his hair. He has similar features as his sister. Anyway, I should probably head to the kitchen to help with supper. I like to volunteer with the omegas. I love to cook and clean. Oh, here’s your book.” She holds it out to me.

I take it and she gets up and leaves with a smile on her face like I’ve never seen before. I flip through the book. Nothing seems to be missing, but a small slip of paper falls. I set the book down and pick up the slip. It’s blank? I turn it over a few times before shrugging. I carefully place the slip back into the book where I think it fell out of, and something catches my eyes.

‘The pull one feels towards another is a good indication that they may be your true mate. There are different types of pulls, sexual, electrical, and sensual are the three most common.’

I roll my eyes because I have felt all three of those with three different wolves, well four if you count Jayce, but I don’t, not really anyway. He was more for fun than actual pull. There has to be more to it than just the pull one feels. I hear footsteps running towards my room, so I close the book quickly and put it in my drawer. The next thing I know is arms are flung around me and holding me in a tight hug. Then the scent of damp earth and fresh rain hits my nostrils.

"Ziek, what’s wrong, why the hurry?” I ask surprised at his rush.

“Thank you.” He says to me.

“For what, exactly? For not humiliating your sister? Yeah, I know. Leviathan told me… why wouldn’t you?” I ask irritation starting to fester.

“I… didn’t want to be judged because she’s, my sister. Thank you for not killing her you had several chances and didn’t. Not only that, but you asked that she remain a beta. You didn’t have to do that, but I’m glad you did. She is a good fighter.” Ziek says releasing me from the hug.

I wrap my arms around him pulling him back into a hug, “Always be honest with me. I will do my best to be honest with you too. I chose to not have it be a fight to the death, just until one couldn’t fight anymore or submits. She submitted by yielding to me. I don’t want to be enemies with her. I’d like to try and be friends with Jezzabelle. She could use a good one.”

“I’d say. What’s going on with you two anyway. First you hit it off at the festival, then he sleeps in the same bed, comes out smelling like you, you two were mind-linking during our duties, and now I see you two hugging each other…” Kayden says from the open door.

“Kayden… there is a possibility that he might be my true mate, just like you and Leviathan… I need to do more research on it, but its still a possibility. I realized that just a little bit ago from a book I was reading about the mate bond stuff. We… sort of had sex when we got up, but it was not intended by either party. Honest. He kissed my forehead, and something happened… much like what happened with you. It was… electrifying, and things just escalated after that. However, I will not apologize for it.” I stand firm.

“I already knew that. I just wanted to hear if from you and find out why. Now I know. Jayce is out but Z is in. How very odd. It will be fun trying to find out which one of us will win the lovely princess, eh, Ziek?” Kayden raises his eyebrow. He took it a lot better than what I expected.

Ziek smirks. “Challenge accepted.”

They both laugh. “Did I miss something? Leviathan was pissed about it, but you are okay with it? I figured it’d be the other way around. I’m so confused.” I say.

They laugh some more. “Mon chèrie, we have been friends a long time. Leviathan was pissed because he thinks of me kind of like an adopted older brother. He is my best friend; both of these guys are. Honestly, I am a little surprised myself why Kayden isn’t so pissed.” He turns towards Kayden. “Why aren’t you pissed?”

“Did you forget about Cindy?” Kayden says surprised.

“Oh right, I did forget… those were some good times, she thought we didn’t know…” Ziek states.

“OKAY! You guys can go reminisce elsewhere. I don’t need to know about your past girlfriends. I don’t WANT to know about them… not really… at least not right now.” I say sighing.

They both apologize to me, and Ziek continues. “Listen, we didn’t mean to upset you. We just got lost in the past.”

“You were laughing at me, because I didn’t have a clue what you were talking about… still don’t technically.” I say slightly irritated.

“Food is here, evening Beta Kayden and Beta Ziek. Asena, why exactly are these two here? I wasn’t exactly expecting you to have company after your dual.” Delilah says.

“Ziek came to thank me, and Kayden came to laugh at me.” I cross my arms and turn away from the boys.

“That’s not true. I came to check to make sure you were fine, and why didn’t Delilah use your title?” Kayden asks.

“Because I told her not to. She is my friend and therefore there is no need for small little formalities like that.” I sternly say.

“I will just leave your tray and have two others brought up, you guys seem to be in the middle of something so, I will see you tomorrow.” Delilah sets my tray in the normal spot and dashes out the door.

Soon two more trays are brought up. We all eat together but not much else is said. Though I have a feeling the boys are up to something, and I will soon find out what. I sigh when I’m done eating and was going to set my tray outside, but when I opened the door a tall thin girl with dark brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin is standing there. She has a tough girl look about her.

“Can I help you?” I ask the girl.

“My name is Isabella I will be your delta. I am to assist you in any way, along with Delilah. Nice to meet you Beta Asena.” She says nodding her head ever so politely.

“Nice to meet you too Isabella.” I say to her.

“I will take all your trays if you all are finished.” She says smiling and the guys hand her their trays and mine.

“Thanks Isa, we appreciate it.” Ziek says. Then pulls me away from the door twirling me into his arms.

The door shuts and Kayden locks it. Then to my surprise Ziek kisses me deeply right in front of Kayden, but even more surprising is that Kayden comes over behind me and bites my neck while both men explore my body with there hands. Double the electrifying feeling makes it hard to resist anything. Ziek then breaks the kiss and bites the other side of my neck. I moan louder than usual. Ziek unties my robe letting it fall to the floor. Its not Kayden and Leviathan, but Kayden and Ziek works for me. I think to myself. They turn me around, so I am facing Kayden, who kisses me and Ziek plays with my vaginal region causing me to get really wet. Then Kayden steps back and removes his clothing and Ziek does the same. Kayden then lays on the bed and I am pushed to hovering over him. He kisses me deeply while Ziek runs his hands over my body. The intensity of the twin electric feelings is too much and liquid leaks out of me. The two men then take turns thrusting hard, fast, and deep inside me, while touching, kissing, and biting me. All our breathing is heavy. Ziek is the first to cum, as he then rests on my back as Kayden finishes. We are all covered in sweat, and I collapse for the first time after having sex. Kayden pushes the weight of me and Ziek off him onto the bed beside him.

“I think we actually wore her out this time.” Kayden chuckles.

“I do believe you are correct, Kayden.” Ziek also chuckles.

“Not funny guys… but that was amazing. Thanks for that experience. It was… electrifying.” I state.

“We didn’t mean it as funny… exactly. We are just as worn out as you are.” Kayden assures.

“This is very true.” Ziek adds. “Lets just go to bed and we can all shower tomorrow. I’m too tired to walk to my room.”

“Same here.” Kayden says.

“Works for me.” I admit.

We all climb into my queen size bed, me in the middle, and cuddle close, but not too close. I’m in heaven. Their scents mixing like they are, is so amazing. Leather and musk, damp dirt and early rain, I could die happily drowning in these scents. Soon the boys’ breathing levels out as they are asleep. I smile happily before falling asleep myself.

------- Chapter 7

Three days have passed since my venture with Kayden and Ziek. I haven’t seen much of either of them or anyone really, they are all off doing their duties, but since I’m a female beta and there is no Luna at this time, there really isn’t much for me to do. So, I spend my time wandering around the packhouse. Jezzabelle has kept her distance from me for the most part, but also hasn’t said much to anyone about me either. I haven’t really been feeling like myself lately either and, I’m not sure I want to know why. Usually just let it go. It doesn’t really bother me much.

“Asena, Ziek has asked for you. He’s in the garden.” Isabelle wonders over to me.

“Oh, okay. Thanks Isa.” I say getting up from the comfortable bean chair I was in.

I walk out to the garden filled with so many different types of flowers that I can’t even name half of. I see him standing by a bench in the middle of a red-rose circlet. I smile and walk over. To my surprise, he isn’t alone. I stop mid-step. I was just about to turn around and walk away when his eyes meet with mine, and I couldn’t leave.

“Good, Asena you are here. This is Minne, she is visiting here. You are probably the best one to be with her.” Ziek says to me.

“Why do you think that? Ask Delilah. She knows more about this place than I do. I’m the newest member of the pack right now. I’m not the best one. I might be kind, but so is Delilah. She will be glad to do it, I’m sure. I can handle just having Isa with me.” I plead.

“Oh no, she doesn’t like me.” Minne says. She has dark brown, almost black hair down to a little past her shoulder and amethyst eyes.

“I said nothing of that sort, Minne. I really don’t know this place as well as Delilah. She is my gamma and I’m sure she would be a great help to you. I will gladly let her be with you during your visit. I’m just being honest here. I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’m the best choice. I appreciate that you thought of me though.” I state. “I can call for her, if you’d like.”

“I think that might be a good idea, but I will call for her instead. Thank you, Beta Asena, you may be excused.” Leviathan says after walking over to us.

“Alpha Leviathan.” I bow, respectively. “I will be on my way then.”

I start walking away and Ziek runs to me, “That was a little odd, don’t you think?”

“Not really. He is the alpha. It’s his job to see that the proper things get done by the proper wolves. Although, he did seem a little too serious. He never uses my title, ever. Even when he has a job for me. It has always been Asena. Never Beta Asena. Never.” I state. “You weren’t excused, maybe you should go back until Delilah shows up.”

“I think the Alpha has it under control. Look at them they are totally flirting. No offense, but you might be old news in his book.” Ziek says.

I look over and see them chatting it up and laughing and smiling. “Maybe. I think I’ve been old news for a while with him though. He’s been kind of distant since my dual with Jezzabelle. That or he’s been super busy. Either way… I can’t control what he does. Let’s go… I don’t care where… but anywhere maybe do some training… want to spar with me?”

“I could use the exercise. Think you can beat me?” Ziek teases.

I giggle and push him to the side a little bit and then he chases me as I run towards the arena. He grabs me once I start to slow down, and I laugh some more. We both undress and shift into our wolf forms. We circle each other I feint attack throwing him off. He dodged the feint attack and then I strike the way he dodges grabbing his paw. He nips at me, but my swiftness comes in handy, and I shift my body still holding his paw in my jaws. Then he uses his mass and lunges forward causing me to stumble and release his paw. He tries to lunge at me again but since I was expecting it, I dodge and lunge at his side grabbing his shoulder and accidently tarring his flesh. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by it. Deciding to roll, he knocks me off. However, when I stand up, I get dizzy and fall again. I shake my head before standing again.

Mon chèrie? Are you feeling alright? His concern makes me happy.

I’m alright just… had a small dizzy spell. Must have knocked me harder than you thought. I say, not telling him I hadn’t been feeling good all day.

Do you need to go to the pack doctor? He asks.

No. I’ll be alright. Let’s just continue please. I say, slightly irritated. I lunge at him and grab at his flank he dodges and grabs mine instead. I yelp. He pulls me down before letting go of me. I stand back up. I take a deep breath and release it. I know I’m not thinking straight right now but I can’t tell him that. I pace a little in search of an opening I slide under the brown wolf and grab his inner thigh. He yelps before falling on me.

“What the hell are you two doing?” Kayden has come out of nowhere.

Ziek shifts. “She wanted to spar, but I don’t think she’s got her head on straight. She is making rookie mistakes. We’ve sparred before and she seems to be having difficulties, and dizzy spells, but she doesn’t want to go to the infirmary.”

I shift and have another dizzy spell, “I said I’ll be fine, damn it! I don’t need to be babied!”

“Then stand up right now, Asena.” Ziek says, straightforwardly.

I try to stand but fall back on my ass. “I’m fine really. I just didn’t eat breakfast… or supper last night… I probably just need food.”

“Why the hell aren’t you eating?” Kayden asks suspiciously.

“I’m just not that hungry. Don’t you ever get that way?” I sneer.

“Why are you so irritable? I didn’t say a damn thing wrong to you today. I’m just concerned.” Kayden states, getting irritated himself.

“See what I mean? She isn’t acting like herself. Something is wrong.” Ziek says calmly.

“I need to go back to bed I think… maybe that will help.” I stand up, put my clothing on rather quickly and run towards the packhouse. Once I reach my room yet another dizzy spell hits and I collapse onto my mattress. I wish I knew what was going on with me too… but I don’t want to go see the doctor in the infirmary. I don’t want to eat either. I’m so cold. I cover up with a blanket even though it doesn’t stop me from shivering. I lay in bed for what seems like hours before someone comes in, and it isn’t Delilah or Isabelle. It’s… I’m so dizzy I can’t tell if it’s one of the brothers or Ziek.

“You really aren’t feeling good are you, Mon Chèrie?” Ziek asks seemingly afraid for my health.

“I will be. I just need to rest for the day, I think. I may have pushed too hard, and maybe Leviathan knew I wasn’t myself also… I don’t know, but he can be with whomever he wants to. I’m not tied to anyone at this point. Therefore, I have no say if he wants to date Minne.” I say tiredly.

“Well, since Minne is also an alpha, they would be good together. She wouldn’t gain the Luna title until they were married, but still… are you sure you are okay with that? What if its him and not me or Kayden?” Ziek asks.

“I will figure something out… but I honestly think Kayden likes Isa more than me as well… they are brothers and I slept with them both… at different times obviously, but still, if Leviathan ends up with Minne, and Kayden ends up with Isa, that leaves you and me, but what if you ended up with Delilah? I would have to leave. I need to find my true mate. Otherwise, no wolf will ever find theirs again. I am the reincarnate of the mother Ziek. It’s my responsibility to restore what was lost… that includes any special powers one might have, AND the extremely special mate bond, but you can’t tell anyone. I shouldn’t have even told you, but I felt like I needed to tell someone… and you are the only one I trust with this information at this time. We have been able to get to know each other really well. So, please, don’t tell anyone not even the alpha OR Kayden.” I beg.

“I won’t tell anyone. That will be our little secret.” He climbs in bed next to me pulling me close. “You are cold. You need warmth.”

“Thanks.” I say before sleep takes me.

I wake up a half hour later to see Ziek in his brown wolf form. He licks my cheek a couple times once he realizes I’m awake. I sit up and wrap my arms around his bigger-than-normal wolf form. He uses his head to return the hug.

Are you sure you’re, okay? You really don’t seem like it, mon chèrie. I’m worried about you.

“Oh Ziek, you worry too much. I’m feeling a little better already. Knowing that you care about me helps me feel better.” I say to him.

I wish I could do more for you… I know, I will stay with you until you feel better. Lunch should be here soon, by the way.

“If you insist on staying, I won’t complain… but Kayden might after a while if you don’t perform your duties… and I guess I can try to eat lunch…” I state.

“What’s going on here, don’t you have things to do today Ziek? Asena after lunch it’s time we finally have our training session. It’s been pushed back enough.” Leviathan enters my room.

“I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, Leviathan, but she’s not feeling good. She needs rest.” Ziek states respectfully after shifting to his human form.

“It’s fine Ziek, I told you I was feeling a little better. If he wants to fight me, then so be it. I will accept it.” I say crawling out of bed.

“You are in no condition to be fighting, Asena. You have been having dizzy spells.” Ziek sternly speaks.

“I will eat lunch and be fine. Okay? I promise to be careful.” I say to him.

He shakes his head and leaves without another word. I sigh, and plop down on my bed. I’m always upsetting the people I care about. I see his point, but Leviathan and I have had this planned for a while now. It just kept getting interrupted or pushed back because something came up… I bet he’s just trying to impress his new little alpha girlfriend, Minne.

“Okay, well after lunch come to the arena. I will be waiting for you. There will be an audience… we will be putting on a show basically. Oh, and I no longer need the date… you seem to have that pretty well covered between Ziek and Kayden so… we are really just seeing who is stronger.” He states.

“No, you want to show off for your new little alpha girlfriend. I know how men are… you had your time with me and now you are moving on to the next target. You seem to think you can beat me… heh… we will see about that. Remember, I had training as a Luna. I will not go easy on you, even if I am having difficulties today.” I say challenging.

“I wouldn’t expect any less from you, that’s why I chose you to fight with me. I have seen you fight many other wolves… you always take it seriously, and never cave for anyone… except the one time you didn’t feel like fighting Jayce. I still want to see you and Kayden fight. If I win that will be your next fight. If you win… I guess that will be your choice. You could strip me of my title then… this is an actual challenge. Be prepared.” He says just as challenging as me.

“I will be.” I state, and he leaves.

Soon after, lunch arrives. I eat it as promised, but it doesn’t sit well, and I end up throwing it all up. As I figured would happen. I don’t need to go to the infirmary to know exactly what wrong… I’m pregnant. I just can’t tell anyone that… not yet. I don’t even know which of the brothers is the father. I don’t think its Ziek… but I’m not sure when I became pregnant, just that I am. After I’m done puking up my lunch… I rinse my mouth and head down to the arena where Leviathan is Waiting in his human form, looking pissed off at me.

“You finally made it… took you long enough.” He says to me.

“You said when I was done with lunch. I like to savor… every… single… bite.” I retort to his attitude.

Everyone gasps, and he says, “I Leviathan, challenge you, Asena, to a dual. Winner decides what the other has to do. If I win, you have to fight my first beta, Kayden. What is it if you win, Princess?”

Everyone looks at me in anticipation of what I might have the alpha do. I sneer, “WHEN I win, I will claim the title of alpha, not Luna, Alpha, and you will retain your title. Therefore, there would be two alphas in this pack and no not a mated pair either. I refuse to make that choice at this time.”

“You seem pretty confident for someone who was making rookie mistakes earlier.” Kayden says from the audience.

“Stay out of this, Kayden!” I snap at him. “This is between Leviathan and me. Oh, I’m sorry, ALPHA Leviathan and me.”

I shift into my wolf and sit waiting for the Leviathan to do the same. He shifts and growls deep and low. I return the growl just as deep and low. Which seems to surprise him a little bit. He paces back and forth a few times waiting for me to stand. I stretch and stand up watching his every move. He continues to pace. Realizing I won’t strike first, he feint attacks which doesn’t faze me, it’s a common trick in the beginning of a dual. He lunges for my flank a jump up and land on his head pushing off and leaping to the other side of the arena causing him to faceplant. I’m very nimble. This seems to piss him off. He then goes for my shoulder, and I dodge him. I shake the dizzy spell away as he lunges and strikes my front leg, biting down almost breaking bone. I bite his ears tarring a hole in his left ear. He releases my leg and everyone in the audience gasps that I actually bit the alpha. He wanted a real fight; he’s going to get one. Another dizzy spell hits and he takes advantage of it by ramming into my side. Knocking me on the ground several feet away from him. I stand growling at him as you can see him smirking through his wolf.

“It is time to show them your true form, Asena.” The mothers voice calls.

I feel my body growing and developing… wings? I am now slightly bigger than Leviathan. The look in his eyes are of pure horror and shock. Whispers erupt throughout the audience. He shifts back into human form his eyes still staring at me. I growl low.

“I have had enough!” I speak as if I were in human form, “How dare you harm my children!” Children? As in more than one? How many am I carrying?

“I can’t fight against that, I yield to Asena.” Leviathan says in a shaky voice as if frightened.

Then I collapse on the ground barely able to move. No one comes near me. I try to get up but fall to the ground again. Then pain like I’ve never felt before strikes my abdomen and I scream out. Blood pools around my lower half. Still, no one moves. When Ziek sees me, he glares at both Kayden and Leviathan before picking me up and running towards the infirmary. Barely remaining conscience, I notice Kayden running after us, but Leviathan stops him, and they ‘talk’ while I’m suffering from major blood loss. What happened to the Leviathan that cared about me? The one that was so kind to me, that smiled and smirked and accepted me for who I was? What happened to that guy? Now he’s keeping Kayden away from me too. Will he turn everyone against me? I press my head into Ziek’s chest and tears fall uncontrollably.

“Shh, mon chèrie. I’m here. I won’t ever leave you. I saw what you turned into from a distance, it didn’t scare me at all. You were beautiful. I have never seen such a magnificent creature.” He says trying to cheer me up.

“Creature? How can you say that? I’m a wolf… not just some creature…” I mumble sounding worse than what I had planned.

“Even wolves are creatures. I was complimenting you, hon. I’m really worried about you, you know. You are bleeding and bad. What did he do to you?” he asks angrily.

“He killed one. He killed one of them. He rammed into my side so hard that it killed one of them.” I say.

“Killed one? Killed one what?” He asks confused.

“I’m pregnant Ziek… he killed one of my pups. I didn’t want to go to the infirmary because I didn’t want it to be confirmed… I don’t know who the dad is, and now none of them will be allowed near me… Leviathan will make sure of that… He hates me now… he… he… he yielded to me… he was scared of me, Ziek… I saw the horror in his eyes. I saw him tell Kayden not to fallow us. I saw it…” I say with a shaky voice. “He was scared of me.”

“I know I wouldn’t want to fight the winged wolf you turned into. Not that I would be scared or anything, I just know you’d have the advantage with the wings, although that could also prove to be a disadvantage as well, depending on the angle you choose to move in.” He says.

“Not helping.” I strain to say.

“Almost there, mon chèrie.” Ziek states.

We arrive and I am rushed into a room where they spray me down to locate where the bleeding is coming from. Once they realize that its coming from my vagina, they get a look of horror on their faces as machines of all kinds are rushed into the room. I am hooked up to several within seconds.

“She’s losing the pup, Beta Ziek, do you know who the father is?” the nurse asks him.

“It could be one of three or four… depending on how far along she is… I know she isn’t very far along because it’s only been maybe two weeks since her first heat cycle. I guess its common where she’s from.” He explains.

“Do they know she was pregnant?” she asks.

“No one knew until her battle with Leviathan. He challenged her to impress his little alpha friend from the crescent moon pack. He is also the reason she is losing this pup.” Ziek says sourly.

“The Alpha challenged someone? That’s unusual. He doesn’t generally get himself included in a challenge unless it’s a rival wolf. She’s a member of this pack, isn’t she?” She asks confused.

“Yes, she is. I don’t know what was put on the table for this particular battle, but she might just be the new alpha.” He explains.

“Two alphas.” I say and start coughing up blood.

“She’s bleeding internally as well. Was he trying to kill her?” The nurse exclaims.

“I don’t know what was going on in his head. He isn’t himself either. I’ve never seen him like this before, and I’m his best friend… or at least I was. I will not be friends with someone who takes advantage of a sick woman like that.” He states sternly.

“What do you mean sick? Has she been sick lately?” Jezzabelle’s voice comes from the door.

“I don’t know for how long. She is or was pregnant, apparently. I don’t know if she still is. She said he killed one of her pups. She didn’t say all of them. She hasn’t eaten since yesterday except maybe lunch, but I don’t know. I left before then… I shouldn’t have left her. That bastard challenged her while she wasn’t feeling good just to show off for a set of pretty eyes.” Ziek hisses the words.

“Ziek, brother, I think you need to go get air and maybe clean up and change. I will wait here with her. Don’t worry I won’t hurt her. She is a lot kinder than I had thought she’d be after the way I treated her. The least I can do is sit with her in her time of need. I owe her that much and more for what she did for me. I promise.” Jezzabelle speaks with her half-brother.

“Fine. I will be back soon. I don’t like leaving her in this condition.” Ziek says to his sister, before leaving the room. I assume. Jezzabelle starts humming and stroking my hair. I find it very soothing.

“Thank you, Jezza…” my words trail off.

“Jezza… hmm… I like that, maybe I will start going by that from now on.” Jezzabelle states.

I smile faintly before completely loosing myself to my weakened state. I rise to some arguing and cant place the voices right away. I try lifting my head but cant. I hear a female hush me saying not to move. She hums stroking my hair again only it’s not hair, it’s my fur. I… I shifted in my sleep? I can barely move… what happened to me? Where am I? I’m struck with a dizzy spell and move my paw over my ear.

“She’s awake!” I hear a muffled voice yell. “Let us see her!” Jayce?

I manage to get my front paws under me and glance over to the door. Jayce and Ziek are standing arguing with the nurse about coming in to see me. Then I realize Jezzabelle is the one that’s been humming and stroking my fur. I lick her hand in appreciation. She smiles at me and scratches behind my ear causing my head to tilt and turn. I rest my head on the bed I’m on, and my paws flatten my ears. The noise is just too much.

“BOYS! You need to stop arguing. Right now, she needs to rest so her wolf can heal her. If she doesn’t, we might lose the person, Asena, and only have the wolf, Asena. Don’t you guys realize how serious this is? She could die at any time! So, stop fighting already. If you promise not to fight you can come in for a little bit, right, Asena?” Jezzabelle says stroking my fur again. I close my eyes, nod, and open them again.

“We promise.” The two Betas say together, so the nurse lets them in.

“Have they done anymore testing, Jezzabelle?” Ziek asks.

“Jezza. I’m going by Jezza now. It came from her, maybe she didn’t mean to, but I like it. and it seems she has three more pups, but two of them are not doing so well either. The likelihood of all of them making it is slim. She said most likely only one will survive. Although they are still concerned about her. With her being so young and the recent battle with the alpha, the lack of nutrients in her system… she’s the main concern right now.” Jezzabelle shares.

“That’s harsh.” Jayce states. “So, the father could basically be Leviathan, Kayden, Ziek or myself?”

“Basically, that’s what it boils down to. They won’t do a DNA test with her in the condition she and the pups are in, and its way to early anyway. She may end up losing the other pup later on too. You both know how difficult it is for us females to carry full term let alone, get pregnant. It happens, but not as often as it should.” Jezzabelle states.

Jezza, that will change one day. I promise you that. It is within my powers gifted to me through reincarnation of the mother. That is why I turned into a winged wolf. The mother chose me… to find my true mate. Then everything should return to the way things were meant to be. I whimper from the effort it took to mind-link her.

“Don’t do that right now. Just try to rest and get better.” Jezzabelle whispers in my ear. “I won’t tell anyone, okay.”

I whimper again and she pets me, which calms me down again. I never thought in a million years, that Jezzabelle would be the one at my side right now. Jayce comes over and stands in front of me and kisses the crescent moon on my forehead and pets my head to add to the comfort. Ziek sits by his sister and joins the other two in comforting me. I close my eyes, and my breathing becomes really slow.

“I can’t stand here and watch her die. Isn’t there anything we can do?” Jayce asks the nurse.

“I’m afraid at this point it’s her will power that will save her. She is in the process of losing at least two or three pups out of the four she was carrying. That’s a lot of blood loss and we can’t supply it. Her blood rejected all the different blood types. Which is rather strange. I have not come across such a thing before. So, no, there really isn’t anything more I can do. The best thing you all can do, is show her support, show her that you care and want her to live. Without her true mate…” she shakes her head, “It’s almost impossible. We all know that that bond is few and far between. It’s too rare to rely on.”

“There are way too many possibilities for that, anyway. She doesn’t know who hers is. She’s been searching. She is a very special wolf. We can’t let her die. We all need her to survive.” Ziek states.

“What do you mean, Z?” Jayce asks.

“I promised her I wouldn’t tell anyone, and that includes you, Jayce. It’s not going to help in this situation anyway. We need to focus on helping her, not figuring out what she told me.” Ziek says sorrowfully.

“Fine, but if there is a way to save her with the information you are withholding…” Jayce begins.

“There isn’t. She didn’t tell me much, Jayce. If there was something, she told me that could help, do you really think I would hold it and just let my woman die?” Ziek snaps.

“When exactly did she become your woman, Ziek?” Kayden is at the door, it sounds like.

“When you decided to abandon her in the arena, letting her bleed out. How do you think that makes her feel, Kade? You didn’t even bother trying to go against your brother to fallow us here. You let him control you.” Ziek growls. “She’s pregnant, Kayden, at least for now.”

I growl deep and low, and when that doesn’t work, I snarl, and that stops them. they all look at me with confusion as I stand, blood pooling at my feet. I fall back down with a yelp. They all rush to me including Kayden, who strokes my fur from head to tail, not minding the blood on his hand. I growl low and soft every time Kayden gets near my abdomen.

“She’s losing the pup?” Kayden asks.

“Pups with an s. As in more than one… two or three in fact and possibly a fourth, because your older brother decided he was going to challenge her in an already weakened state and ram into her side right where the pups were. Maybe it was even intentional, maybe he caught the scent difference.” Ziek scornfully says.

“Why would Leviathan do that?” Kayden asks.

“Because of his new girlfriend, idiot.” Jayce says. “Have you not seen him and Minne? They are totally tied up with each other. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was attempting to kill Asena, to get rid of his affection for her. He’s not the same Leviathan we grew up with, Kade, when are you going to wake up and realize that?”

“First of all, how were any of us to know she was pregnant? She didn’t say anything to anyone. Second, I’m pretty sure he was just surprised because of what she turned into. No one has ever seen a winged wolf. Third, the battle wasn’t legit. She cheated by turning into that thing. She’s… beautiful yes, but do any of you really think she’s worth leaving the alpha you grew up with, for her? She was a rogue that was welcomed into the pack, and then turns around and tries to challenge our alpha for a second alpha position.” Kayden explains.

“HE CHALLENGED ME!!!” I yell through my wolf form. “I fought because I wasn’t going to be humiliated and have to challenge your ass, Kayden. That’s what he wanted. I wasn’t sure what to put as my wining, so I said I’d take the alpha title while he got to keep his, much like what I did for Jezza. If all you are going to do is argue with my REAL friends, then I suggest you LEAVE!” I growl deep and low in a challenging way. He backs away from me. “You are no better than he is right now, judging me for something I didn’t even know I could do. He’s the reason I’m here instead of my own bed. Go away, Kayden. Return ONLY when you can show more respect to the reincarnation of the mother. Get to the bottom of what’s got Leviathan in such a mood. Now GO!” I command, before passing out briefly.

-------Chapter 8

Silence surrounds me for the first time, since being put in the hospital. Unsure of how long I’ve been out, I open my eyes and see Jayce, Jezza, and Ziek all passed out around me. I glance at the clock. It’s just after 8 pm. I wonder if they were just exhausted. I’m feeling slightly better but not quite a hundred percent. I realize I’m no longer hooked up to the machines and my bedding has been changed. I’m still bleeding, but not pouring out of me like it was before. Another realization strikes, did I lose them all? Panic begins to raise inside me, my breathing becomes shallow, and I begin hyperventilating.

“Woah, Asena, calm down, or you will lose the last one too. It’s hard, I can’t imagine the thoughts and feelings you are going through. It must be horrible.” Jezzabelle looks as if she’s going to cry.

After a few minutes I’m able to calm myself down, I shift “Ah, ouch, that hurts. Don’t cry Jezza. It will be alright. I’m stronger than you think. How long have I been asleep?”

“You shouldn’t be in your human form yet. It’s still too dangerous for you. I’m just glad you are doing a little better. Doc says you will probably be here for a week or two or until your bleeding stops or at least slows way down to like spotting. He’s extremely concerned about the loss of blood. You have been asleep for almost two days, or maybe a little more. You exhausted yourself, and if you don’t get back into your wolf form and lay back down it will happen again. You need to eat though, or they will insert a feeding tube.” She whispers.

My body automatically shifts itself back into wolf form because of my weakened state. I sigh and use my nose to lift Jezzabelle’s chin. My soft gaze and best wolf smile make her smile as well. She carefully wraps her arms around my neck hugging me.

“There’s a sight I never thought I’d see.” Leviathan shows up at the door. I smelled the air. He smelled like earth and woods mixed with flowers and I knew exactly what had happened. I growl and snarl at him not even caring if I woke anyone else up.

“Feisty little Asena. You really think you can scare me right now. You are half dead anyway, but that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to say it’s over between us. I’m with Minne now. You may have won the alpha title fairly, but I still won in the end. I won the girl. We are done.” He says.

“Good. I don’t want anything more to do with you, you killed three of my pups. I’m in this room because of you. Even if it’s your pup, it will NEVER be your pup.” I snarl at him, still in my wolf form.

“You’re still pregnant?” he asks, hopeful.

“Why do you care. You almost killed me. I’m starting to wonder if that wasn’t your goal in the end.” I growl.

“Why the hell would I want to kill a girl like you, Asena? You are a good wolf. There needs to be more like you. I have been worried about you, but you scared the hell out of me during our battle. I never would have expected that YOU of all wolves, would be like the mother.” He says sadly.

“I am her reincarnate you jerk. Why else would I be like her? Looks and all? Now if you don’t mind, I need my rest, unless you came to finish me off, I request you leave.” I speak using an aggressive tone.

“As you ask, Matriarch Asena.” He speaks downheartedly.

“Matriarch?” I ask confused.

“Higher than alpha. You are stronger than me, so you now lead. That is the way of the wolf.” He explains.

“We are equal. I don’t mind being called Matriarch, but we are equal, or you still run everything and if you have a question, then come to me. Either way, I refuse to strip you of your power, despite how angry and pissed off at you I am.” I say starring at him from my position on the bed.

“You want me to continue running things, and ask you stuff only if I have a question?” He thinks about it for a couple seconds, “Alright, but we are still done. I have Minne now, and she doesn’t sleep around with my brothers and my best friend.”

“Whatever… I am no longer interested in you anyway. Not after what happened in the arena, and after. Now leave before the rest of them wake up.” I sternly speak.

“That was an accident. I didn’t know you were pregnant. I would have never challenged you had I known that. I chose you because you are one of my best fighters if not the best. Well now I can say the best because you would have bested me had I not yielded. Well, if you weren’t suffering like you were. I’m sorry I lost site of the important thing. My pack. I should have noticed you weren’t yourself, instead I was caught up with beautiful amethyst eyes. I no longer deserve the title Alpha. It should be yours. I will step down as soon as you are feeling like yourself.” Leviathan says.

“Enough with the pity party bull shit, Leviathan. I don’t want your position. You are a great alpha, you just got lost. Everyone makes mistakes, including myself. No one can escape life without a few mistakes here and there. What you need to do, is learn from this event, and focus on becoming better, and overcoming what problems may come with the mistake you made. You may have lost your best friend, I suggest you smooth things over with your brothers and Ziek when you get the chance, much like you did with me. I’m still unhappy, but I will get over it soon enough.” I state. “Use that brain of yours and think about what has been said. I am going to rest more, so I can heal faster. Goodbye.”

Leviathan leaves without further conversation. Much to my pleasure. I’m still pissed at him for killing my pups, but at the same time Kayden had a point. How was he supposed to know I was pregnant? I never told anyone until it was too late. Yes, even I make mistakes that I have to live with for the rest of my life. I should never have accepted that challenge in the state I was in, but I felt like I would be a weak link if I chose to say no.

“Mon chèrie? What’s the ma… why was Leviathan here?” Ziek asks threateningly.

“He came to tell me him and I are done. We never were. He’s with Minne now which is fine. I could care less. I’m still pissed off at him even though we are both to blame for what happened. I’m pissed that he challenged me to impress a girl, and I’m pissed at myself for going through it in my already weakened condition.” I state. “He’s not the only one at fault here.”

“He should have never challenged you in the first place! If he would have just listened and let you be, this never would have happened. He should pay more attention.” Ziek says heated.

“Ziek, please. I’m still so tired.” I say kindly.

“She has a point, you know. You need to stay calm. Your stress will stress her out and possibly the only pup left and then there might not be a pup.” Jezzabelle says. “Leviathan was willing to give his position to Asena because he felt like he didn’t deserve it, because he got caught up in pretty eyes. She, of course, denied it, but became the matriarch of the pack, but it will still be run by Leviathan, she will just be in the shadows pretty much.”

“Why would you do that? He killed your pups, your children.” Ziek asks me.

“And if it were your sister in the same position, how would you feel. I gave her a second chance, so I am going to give him one as well. As far as Kayden goes… I just don’t know what to do about him…” I state.

“You just worry about resting. We will try to figure out what’s going on with Kayden.” Ziek says.

“Nothing is going on with me. I came here to check on her. I’m sorry I didn’t believe you at first. Levi explained everything to me, Madam Matriarch. If you need me don’t be shy. I will come if I can. I’m sorry I got so irritated. I get defensive sometimes.” Kayden says.

“Apologize to Jayce, and Jayce can apologize to you for what he said. However, that can wait until later, I need to get some rest. I will see you all later.” I lay my head on my big paws and fall asleep.

Asena, my child. You poor thing.

I feel warmth filling my soul and moving throughout my body. I know she can’t save the pups I have already lost, but I feel the other pup healing and becoming stronger, along with myself. I wake up after that feeling stops and I feel so much better and way more energized. I stretch and yawn. I feel like I’ve been asleep for days. I shift into human form and wrap myself in a blanket to cover my naked body.

Delilah? Are you available to bring me food, if not is Isa?

Asena? You’re awake? Oh, happy day! It’s been like five days. The loss of blood along with other things… they just recently took the tube out. They were about to give up on you… I told them… I told them all that you’d pull through. I knew you would. I will bring you food right away. Should I alert the others?

No please don’t. I’d like to eat in peace, I will talk with them all later. I am feeling so much better.

Okay, I will be right there with some food for you!

I cut the connection knowing she would be here soon. There was only one person that came to mind which was a surprise. Jezzabelle. I mind-link her.

Jezza, don’t be alerted. I’m alright. Delilah is bringing me some food. I’m awake now, but please don’t tell anyone yet, not even Ziek. Just later bring them to the infirmary, so I can speak with you all. There are some important things I need to discuss… with all of you. Not the whole pack though… just the ones I’ve been around most since being in this pack.

Very well. Its only about seven right now, does ten work for our meeting?

Yes, sounds perfect.

I sigh in relief. Soon enough, Delilah shows up with a tray full of food. Mostly proteins. I smile as she brings it to me. I eat it slowly at first just to be safe. Once I realize I wasn’t going to vomit, I ate like normal. It tastes so good. I clean my tray. And lick my lips clean. Then clean my fingers and face with a napkin.

“Thank you very much, Delilah. You are a saint, or maybe angel is a better word.” I smile sweetly at the small strawberry blonde.

“Oh, it’s no big deal. I’m proud to serve the matriarch. It’s a position I never thought I would be able to do considering I’m a gamma. I mean I know it’s not really an alpha position, its higher… but the privilege is still a great opportunity. Isa is asleep, but… she and Kayden have been spending a lot of time together, just so you know. He hasn’t forgotten about you; he seems to think you won’t make it. He’s very upset with the alpha. They haven’t spoken in three or four days. Kayden has been drinking a lot also. I don’t know if he’s slept with Isabelle or not… I just thought I’d warn you, since you seem to have an attachment to him.” She seems sad.

“Its fine Delilah. He’s most likely seeking comfort, and being with another woman for some reason helps a man… I will talk to him privately later. He and his brothers need to make amends before any of them come see me, and Ziek needs to talk to his best friend. I’m not going to be the cause of this wolf pack falling apart. I will say as much, actually, Delilah, can you pass that message along to them. Tell them they have until ten to make amends otherwise I won’t see any of them just my girls… meaning you, Isa, and Jezza. What of Luka? Has he even attempted to see me? He’s supposed to be my friend.” I state the facts.

Delilah points to a chair off to the side where Luka is resting. “He has been here for the last two days. He told everyone else to go because they needed to rest. They haven’t been sleeping much since you’ve been out. You flat-lined a few times. We almost lost you. Thank the mother, you pulled through.”

“She is exactly who you need to thank. She came to me right before I came around. She helped me heal enough for me and my last pup to survive. She said it was a sign. That it’s about time I choose my true mate. She says I’ve always had the ability. That it was always up to me. There was never someone assigned as mine, but once I choose, then the true bond… the true mate, will start occurring more.” I state, “It’s kind of a lot to take in, huh? At least its only out of two instead of four… but it might actually be down to one. Depending on how my discussions go.” I say.

“Are you sure you can make that decision? It’s not a simple one to make. Both Kayden and Ziek are absolutely gorgeous, and I’m totally jealous you had both of them at the same time. I could smell it the next day. That is so not fair, no one gets that lucky.” She whines.

“Oh, it was spicy, but honestly, it won’t be easy, that’s why I’m going to ask them as well. It’s not just my choice anymore. When we come to meeting with everyone, I want to speak one on one with each of them. Its time. After what I just went through, the healing would have been faster had I had a mate. It is time for a decision to be made.” I determinedly say.

“You are serious. You’ve never been so serious before. Are you sure you’re, okay? Why does it need to be made?” She asks, surprised.

“I just have this feeling… something is going to happen soon, and a lot of wolves will be hurt or end up dying. There is no way to prevent it. Now, it’s just a feeling, but that’s not something I take lightly. I don’t know if it’s because I became a Matriarch or what…” I state more serious. “By allowing the mated bond back it would reduce the amount of casualties. There are only a few that I can MAKE true mates. Once I am officially mated, I won’t be able to anymore. That bond will be unlocked for everyone.”

“Wow, you really are something special. I mean, I saw your winged form. It’s absolutely amazing, but to have these abilities on top of it? You really are the reincarnate.” She exclaims.

“I’m more of a glorified descendant.” I state. “Have you found a special someone yet, Delilah?”

“No, I have been too worried about you. I take my job seriously. I don’t have time for men.” She says blushing.

“Have you thought about maybe asking Luka? You both like books. He’s in the library most of the time. Plus, neither of you gave up on me. It’s obvious. Look at him sound asleep. Just waiting for word about me.” I whisper to her.

“But he’s a half-breed.” Delilah whispers back.

“Would you really let that stop you if by chance you were true mates? Look at him. He is blond and has violet eyes. He’s also a gamma. I’m the matriarch, remember. I can make it so you two can work together even in the library if you wish. I won’t force you obviously it has to be a joint decision, so think about it okay.” I smile sweetly.

“I will. He’s really not much of a talker though.” She says.

“Maybe he just needs to come out of his shell, much like a pretty young gamma I know.” I state.

She blushes even more, “Stop it. I’m not that pretty…”

“I believe the saying is, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.” Luka says startling us.

“Luka, you’re awake. It’s good to see you. It feels like forever since I saw you last. How have you been?” I ask him kindly.

“I heard you were here, I wanted to check on you but I… um… I… was afraid they wouldn’t let me see you. Me not being pure bred and all.” He’s blushing a little. It’s cute.

“Luka you know Delilah, right?” I ask. He nods. “You know she loves to read too. She took a peek in the book you got for me. I wasn’t mad about it though. It was a very interesting book. She is such a sweet girl too. She was the first female friend I made here.”

“I know, Matriarch. Well, not about the book, but that she was your first friend. She told me. She also told me about how you have been so kind to her, and other things I won’t mention, it’s a bit embarrassing for me.” I look at Delilah and raise my brow at her.

“I told him stories thinking he wasn’t actually listening. I’m sorry.” She shrinks behind him.

I chuckle, “It’s okay, Delilah. I understand. He’s not much of a conversationalist at first. It took a few meetings before he talked regularly to me, like an actual friend.”

“Delilah, you are a beautiful gamma. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.” Luka says to her.

“See. Even he thinks so.” I stick my tongue out at her and we all laugh.

“SHES AWAKE ALERT THE ALPHA!” the nurse yells at someone in another room.

I sigh, “So much for waiting until ten. It’s only been an hour.”

“It’s been one and a half actually.” Delilah says.

“Thank you, Delilah, for correcting me.” I say sarcastically and then giggle.

Within a few seconds Leviathan shows up. Once he sees Luka, he low growls, as he is in wolf form. I leap from my bed, shift mid-air, and land in front of him growling back. He steps back and shifts to human form, and I fallow suit, shifting back to human. He comes to me wrapping his arms around me in a hug.

“I thought I was going to lose you. Let’s not ever fight again. I don’t care if we aren’t mates or if we are. I just want you in my life. You have impacted my life in a way that I don’t want to live without you. I love you. I’m just not sure what kind of love it is.” Leviathan says to me.

“Leviathan. You have already made your choice. You belong with…” He kisses me cutting me off “Minne.” I say when he breaks the kiss.

“I guess I really did lose my chance with you. It’s okay. I will inform Minne that your wish her and I well.” He says.

I smile at him. “I’m still your matriarch, Leviathan. I’m not going anywhere. Minne will be a fine Luna. I told you from the start that I didn’t want the Luna position, but would take it if we were mates, but your mate is Minne. If you don’t believe me go find her and kiss her… AND MAKE UP WITH YOUR BROTHERS AND ZIEK!” I say sternly. I shake my head.

“That was… odd.” Delilah and Luka say together, then they laugh.

“Leviathan? Not really. Not when he’s around me, that kind of thing is normal.” I state.

“If you say so.” Luka says.

“Why don’t you two go to the library and read some books together and get to know each other better… if it doesn’t work at least, you can be friends.” I suggest. “I think I’d like to be alone for a little while. I have some thinking to do before I talk to the rest of my friends.”

“If that’s what you want, Asena, we can do that, right Luka?” Delilah asks. He nods and they both walk out. I walk over to my bed and sit down. I sigh. I have a lot to figure out. I like Kayden and I like Ziek, I still kind of like Leviathan, but I’m done with him. He ruined any chance he had with me when he killed three of my pups. He can say he loves me, but I don’t think it’s that way. If anything, maybe as a sibling or a friend, but he needs to just stay with Minne. They are both alphas after all. I never wanted that position… but instead I got matriarch… a higher rank. What am I going to do? I groan. Why do I have to be this special wolf… why do I have to make such decisions… why can’t I have a simple life…

I know it’s not easy right now, but it will get easier.

Things are just complicated right now because you fell for four different wolves.

One left you, another was a jerk then left and wanted you back but not truthfully.

One is not sure how he feels. He has feelings for you, but also another.

One is just saddened by what happened, but still cares deeply for you.

The mother reminds me. I ponder over and over as to how I might handle this and end up with nothing. The very thought of having to choose now… I shake my head. I decide to give them a choice. The choice will have to be made by sundown tomorrow. Then I can prepare myself in case they both decide they don’t want to be with me. Maybe it’s neither of them. Maybe there is still someone else. I know it can’t be Jayce. I wouldn’t want to ruin his chances with Jezza. They are perfect for each other. Who’s my perfect match? No one will be able to match my abilities. I’m to limber and quick on my feet. Not to mention my new powers. What about this feeling of something bad happening and wolves losing their lives?

“Hey, nurse.” I yell. And she rounds the corner.

“Yes, my dear matriarch?” the elder woman says so kindly.

“Do you think I can go for a short run? I’ve been in here for so long I think a nice short run would do me some good. Just around the outside of the packhouse a time or two. I won’t be far in case something happens.” I plead.

“I guess if it’s just along the building you should be fine… but don’t be out to long, or the calvary will come. You are our true leader now. Even though you still have Alpha Leviathan run things. You are no longer princess, instead you’ve become queen.” She says.

I giggle. “Technically I’m still a princess. I haven’t actually been sworn in as leader yet. They may all recognize me as such, but I haven’t gone through my coronation yet.

At this the nurse giggles right along with me. “Well then dear, get to full health and order them to throw you a ball.”

Our giggles turn into laughter. “Such a sweet sound that is, mon chèrie. I haven’t heard your sweet voice, or your laughter is such a long time.” Ziek says entering with Kayden in tow.

“Okay Mr. Romeo… I’m sure she doesn’t need that kind of drama right now.” Kayden says, and everyone bursts into laughter, including Ziek.

Once our laughter settles, I sigh in content. “Hello my guys. Where’s everyone else?”

“What do you mean? We heard you were awake, so we came here right away.” Ziek says confused.

“Let me guess… Jezza? Or Delilah?” I ask suspiciously.

They look at each other and then me, “Neither, Leviathan.” Kayden says, and Ziek nods.

My smile fades, “I see. Well, I’d love to stay and chat, but I have plans.” I shift into my wolf form and run out the hospital doors and through the packhouse and exit, running a few laps around the building still unsatisfied I continue for a while more. When satisfaction still doesn’t come, I decide to run towards the arena. Once I get there a flashback of the event strikes my mind and sadness and anxiety overwhelm me. I didn’t want to be there anymore. I needed to get away from there. The sight of Leviathans face slammed into memory, and I just turned and ran not knowing where I was going exactly, but I at least know the edges of the territory now. As I approach the edge of the territory, I stop as to not cross. My body trembles as the fear in Leviathans eyes that day sink further and further into my core. I scared him. An alpha. A very strong alpha, and he was horrified by me. His fear that day penetrated my soul… I can’t believe I… tears stream down my black, fur covered cheeks. I never wanted to scare him into submission. I would have rather won without that. Maybe I can rechallenge him, on the basis of him not knowing I was pregnant. Maybe I can smooth things over then. I know he said he loved me, but I think he only said that to be nice. Once I told him to go find Minne, he didn’t even hesitate. He ran out the door… he is still afraid of me. He won’t allow another challenge with me. I smell Kayden and Ziek coming up from behind. I just wait. They stop a few feet from me.

“You were supposed to stay by the packhouse.” Kayden says sternly, after shifting.

I don’t respond.

“I know you can hear me, and I know you can talk regularly in your wolf form. I heard you that day.” Kayden tries again.

I still don’t respond.

“Why don’t you answer, mon chèrie?” Ziek asks.

I turn and glare at them and run back towards the packhouse with them not far behind. I pick up my pace and they struggle keeping up as the gap between us increases. They both have the smell of Isabelle all over them. They did when they first entered the hospital room too. I go inside the packhouse and up towards my room. I walk in and it smells strongly of sex, Kayden, Ziek, and, of course, Isabelle. I storm back out of my room and down to the hospital room I was in, absolutely furious with them both, but mostly Ziek. He never seemed to be the type to do something like that, and in my room of all places… how shameless. She looks nothing like I do.

I mind-link Isa, Isabelle… I hereby declare you relieved of your duties as my beta. Jezza will take your place.

I then mind-link Jezzabelle, Jezza, you have been promoted to my first beta. I have relieved Isa of her duties as such.

WHAT! Isa is so nice, though. Jezzabelle responds.

She slept with BOTH Kayden and Ziek in my bed, that is disrespectful, dishonorable, and shameless. I don’t care that she slept with them (ideally) but in MY BED! My fury is shown in my words.

Ouch… well then, I accept the honor to serve you as first beta of the Matriarch. Jezzabelle states her reply.

Soon Kayden and Ziek enter trying to catch their breath. Then they finally realized why I am so irritated because they smelled each other’s scent as it is stronger when they exert themselves. They both sigh heavily.

“We can explain.” Kayden starts.

I only turn away and stick my snout in the air, closing my eyes so I don’t see their reflection in the glass. I hear them step closer and I give them a warning growl.

“I suggest you two go shower before you try to talk to her. She is seriously pissed at you two. To the point where she has relieved Isa of her duties and has promoted me as her first beta. I will be watching over her and helping with her duties from now on. So, get moving and go shower boys.” Jezzabelle demands. I smile on the inside. Good choice Asena. I say to myself.

“You what? She was only trying to help us. She was pretending to be you for us because we wanted you.” Kayden said.

At this point my fury went into explosive mode and I turned, jumped off the table and my body shifts into my true form as I’m growling at Kayden. I speak, “Go now… if you wanted me, you should have come to SEE me. Not pretend someone WAS me… and DEFINITELY NOT IN MY ROOM! GO SHOWER I’M DONE WITH YOU BOTH UNTIL YOU DO SO!”

I shift back into my normal wolf and turn away again. All I hear after that is Ziek telling Kayden, that he knew it was a bad idea. Then I shift into human form. “Thanks, Jezza. I think I made a good choice. I would much rather have someone I trust as my beta anyway. You and I’d rather have Jayce, but I don’t think I will get that lucky. Delilah is a good girl, but she needs to not work all the time she needs to have fun too and get to know other wolves, like Luka, for example. They seemed to have hit it off this morning. I just want everyone happy.”

“Why not have Ziek be your second beta?” she asks.

“Because if he is my true mate, he would become my patriarch, and if he wasn’t my mate, I’m not so sure I could handle having him as my beta. I like him too much. The same would go for Kayden, but we both know he’s too attached at Leviathans hip. I don’t know if he’d accept a higher position than his brothers.” I explain.

“I see your point. Why Jayce though, why not have my other brother… never mind… I know why on that too… sorry about that by the way. I was trying to ruin you. I have changed though, honest.” She states.

“I know Jezza… I know.” I say.

“Say, what’s the running at for your mate anyway? How is it going to work?” She asks curiously.

“Well, I basically get to choose who my mate is, but I don’t want to just take one, I want them to choose me as well. Jayce was the first to pull out of the race, so to speak. I told him he should try and date you, actually. I think you and he are a perfect match. You both like sex, a lot, and if you really wanted you could always have a third or even a fourth with you guys.” I shrug. “Just a suggestion.”

“We have been dating. That’s why you hadn’t seen much of either of us after our dual. We were spending time together, getting to know each other, as you suggested. I found him after the battle ended and thanked him, and that’s when we started dating.” She says blushing.

“See, can I call them or what. Just like Leviathan and Minne. They are perfect for each other too. I realize he said he loved me, but I think he was just trying to get me to forgive him, to accept him again. However, I never stopped accepting him. I still haven’t fully forgiven him, but at the same time, it’s my fault for not telling anyone I was pregnant. So, he had a point. Technically he should still be in charge, and I still should be a beta. That fight was unfair.” I say sternly.

“You won, because he yielded before you collapsed.” She says.

I shake my head, “but the point is, I shifted into something no one expected, even me. it scared him. He probably hates me deep down, because fear is a sign of weakness, and it was written all over his face.”

“What world did you grow up in? Fear can be a sign of weakness, but it can also show a way to grow. To become better than what you are. That is our teaching. We overcome our fear by growing into something more than what we are now. He may have been afraid that day, and it probably embarrassed him, but he took it as a way to grow, to become better.” She explains to me.

“I’ve never thought of it that way.” I state. “anyway, back to your question… the only ones left in my choice is Kayden and Ziek. It’s been that way for a while. I never really wanted to be a Luna, so I was always on edge about choosing Leviathan anyway. Kayden and Ziek both pissed me off because what they did, should not have happened in my bed. They could have done it anywhere else, and it would have been fine… or at least I think so. I mean I can’t get mad at them for sleeping with others when I’ve done it right… at least that was in my own bed… I may just have to go and search for someone new altogether. I’m not sure if I want to be with either of them right now.”

“It’s okay to feel a little jealous. It took me a long time to not get jealous over guys sleeping with other girls… you saw me jealous of you for sleeping with Kayden and Leviathan… but its fine now. I got over it, you will too. Just don’t go after Isa like I went after you. She isn’t much for fighting. She’s a sweet girl too.” Jezzabelle states.

“I’m not going to go after someone I have no reason to. She didn’t do me wrong in any way. I went after you because you went for me first… defensive maneuvers and such. I’m not mean, Jezza. I just can’t get away from the look in Leviathans eyes that day. The fear and horror in them. I ran to the arena earlier and I just about had an anxiety attack. Found myself running towards the border and finally stopped. I don’t want that. I don’t want anyone to fear me. I would rather have them love me as I am than fear me for what I look like when I go full out.” I sigh.

“You’ll be fine. I promise but you really need to decide who you want to be with. As far as Jayce and me, if you really think we are perfect, do you have the ability to make us mates?” she asks hopeful.

“Technically, but I would have to kiss Jayce to do it. That’s the only way I know how to pass on the ability to make the next one you kiss your mate.” I explain.

“You can kiss me, can’t you? Won’t it work that way too?” Jezzabelle asks.

My cheeks go red, “What? You want to be the one to make him your mate instead of him making you his?” I ponder, “I guess it could work… but what would Jayce do if he saw us kissing? Wouldn’t he get the wrong idea?”

“He’d probably want to join in actually.” She says bluntly.

I giggle, “Probably, knowing him. Why don’t you call him and if he wants you to be his mate, I will kiss you then so you can pass it on.”

“Done. He will be in soon.” She says, and within seconds he’s running through the door and over to me hugging me tightly.

“I can’t believe I’m hugging a warm body this time. You were so cold the last time I hugged you. You were so close to death they only gave you a half a day at most, and here you are, full of health. How?” Jayce asks releasing me from his embrace.

“Well, Jayce, the mother saved me. She also gave me the ability to heal others… with a cost of course. It was a miracle straight out of a fairy tale. I have a serious question for you Jayce Lockwood.” I never use their last names because it sounds so… weird. “How much do you care for Jezza? Is it enough to become permanent mates?” I raise an eyebrow.

He does the same, “She told you huh? Of course, I care about her enough. I’d gladly be hers.”

I look at Jezzabelle and she gets up and walks over to me. We kiss deepening it for effect then she pulls away and kisses Jayce. I could almost see the bond being formed within each of their eyes. Jayce embraces her like a long-lost love. I’m a little jealous. I want that.

“What the hell just happened?” Jayce asks not taking his eyes from Jezzabelle’s.

“You two are now true mates. I gave the gift to Jezza to make you her true mate. As her request, but I wanted to make sure it was also what you wanted.” I state my claim.

They were so caught up in each other that they didn’t hear Ziek, and Kayden enter the room. They look at me and then at the two love birds and back to me. I shrug smiling at Jayce and Jezzabelle. They are a beautiful couple, but the more I look at them the more my inner wolf whines for such a connection, and I as well, for my wolf and I are one.

“What exactly happened.” Ziek asks.

“They discovered they are true mates.” I simply state.

“How, that ability has been taken away from us. We haven’t been able to find our true mates for a very long time. I know you have been searching, but I don’t think it will happen.” Kayden is blunt.

I sharply turn my emerald eyes on him and glare, “I choose who my true mate is. I am a descendent/reincarnate of the mother herself. It is my responsibility to restore that gift. The only way it will happen is for me to choose which one of you two I want as my true mate or if I leave and find someone else altogether.” I state almost growling.

“Easy, mon chèrie, some of us struggle with believing that story… but you told me that a while ago… I didn’t believe it at first, but since you were practically dead like six hours ago, and now you are almost full health, I find it harder NOT to believe.” Ziek states.

“You told him, but didn’t tell me?” Kayden seems hurt by it.

“When have I had the time, Kayden? Not only that, but I knew if I told you, you’d go straight to Leviathan with it, and the less that knew the better at the time. Now after seeing my true wolf form, you still don’t believe, Kayden?” I ask snippy.

“I didn’t say that sweetheart. I simply was saying it’s almost impossible to find a true mate.” Kayden says.

“Is that what you call Isa? Because you’ve never Once called me anything but my name. If you did, I didn’t catch it. Just like Ziek has always used ‘mon chèrie’ when speaking to me. Leviathan always used my name as well. I knew something was up with him when he used my title. He NEVER uses ANYONES title, and now here you are, calling me Sweetheart, and expect me to believe you only slept with Isa while I was in a coma? Not likely.” I rant on.

“Calm down, mon chèrie, I only did it once, and I hated every minute of it. I wasn’t ready to give up on you. The doctor only said you had like a half a day. I was in a rut, so Kayden, thought sleeping with someone in your room would help us to mend. It didn’t work… then we got word you were alive and doing amazing, and well… we didn’t have time to clean up. Sorry.” Ziek seems honest in his apology.

“I’m not saying you did it more Ziek. I’m saying Kayden did. I saw him stare at her a few times before and her smiling flirtatiously at him. The signs were all there. I can’t really be mad at him because I wasn’t any better… not exactly. I just don’t like being lied to, and that’s what he’s been doing. Every time he sees me and we’re alone he says he cares and pretends to show it. I started suspecting it after the first time I saw him look at her, but he still kept saying he wanted me. If Kayden truly wanted me, he wouldn’t have even considered another girl. I didn’t know who I wanted, and now the time has come for me to make my choice, but first, let me ask you both a question. If you are not honest, I will know.” I say irritated.

“Jayce, Jezza, could you please get a room for crying out loud… this isn’t a strip club.” Ziek says to them.

“Oops sorry guys.” Jayce says and they take off out the door holding hands.

“I need to know who you really want to be with. Kayden, I will start with you. Do you want to be with me, or do you want to be with Isa? Make your decision NOW, before your matriarch.” I say in my leader tone.

“Can’t I just have you both? I don’t want to let go of either of you.” Kayden says.
