Holding The Horizon
Bellaās choice to decline Alejandroās invitation, even after discovering how much they share, was the part that stayed with me. She clearly feels the pull of this meeting, but her past hurt and fear of judgment are stronger than her curiosityāfor now. I liked that tension between wanting connection and protecting herself; watching Alejandro leave while she remains by the window gives the chapter a wistful ending. Their instant attraction is very intense, perhaps almost too immediate, but Bellaās hesitation gives the encounter a more complicated emotional edge. Iām curious whether sheāll let those walls come down.
