I sincerely gave this story five stars for how engaging it is, and for its excellent parallel with Jurassic Park. However, I think many authors who write about AI become too focused on the familiar "humans vs. machines" conflict and end up attributing very human motives to artificial intelligence. Wiping out billions of people simply because there are too many of them is, paradoxically, a very human kind of inhuman decision. A Matter of Perspective
At first glance, this feels like a joke. But what if it isn't? Was someone playing a prank on the protagonist, or hinting that powerful beings—like Q from Star Trek—are watching humanity? The story leaves plenty of room for the reader's imagination.

A Matter of Perspective
This was brilliantly executed—what started as a meticulous, yet almost mundane observation of a shoe unraveled into a chilling, mind-bending revelation. The slow burn of realization and the contrast between something so ordinary and something so impossible made for an incredibly haunting read. Loved it!
