Monstro

The narrator travels to the Dominican Republic for the summer to visit his ailing mother, and because he realizes he has nothing else to do in the States. The story starts with a horrific narrative of a terrible disease affecting the country of Haiti that could make one “blacker” and have a dangerous magnetic pull to others who share the disease.
