The Princess is Mightier than the Sword
Derarg and Abalea make a lively, entertaining pair. Their bickering gives the bloody fantasy adventure warmth, especially as Abalea gradually admits that his brutal methods are keeping them alive. I also enjoyed the final image of Derarg arguing with an invisible companion while everyone assumes he is alone—it captures their strange bond neatly and leaves the story on a charming note.
