Beam met his gaze unflinchingly. "I know exactly who you are, Mr. Forth Jaturapoom. The youngest businessman f year. S strong leader gaining political powers. A stubborn person who uses his power and money to get whatever he wants. But I - " Beam jabbed a finger toward the door of his cabin, voice rising - "am Dr. Beam Bramee. And I will never be your puppet. So, get out of my premises. Right. Now."
Forth's eyes remained locked on Beam, a smirk curling his lips. "Relax. I'm leaving? for now. But yes, you're right - I am Forth Jaturapoom. And I always take what I want. Just wait, Dr. Beam Bramee. Soon? you'll be under me. Ravished and broken. Just wait, honey. Just wait."
With that chilling promise, he turned and walked out, leaving an icy silence behind.
Beam let out a heavy sigh, the weight of what had just occurred hitting him hard.
"Oh my God? What the actual fuck did I just do?" he muttered, raking a hand through his hair. "You're a doctor, asshole! How can you be so reckless? That man is Forth Jaturapoom - CEO, future political figure, a walking powerhouse. And you? you just insulted him in your own office."
Just then, his phone rang. The caller ID flashed: Phana.
Without hesitation, Beam answered.
"Hello - " Phana greted.
"Asshole!" Beam exploded. "You dig my grave and now you're just casually saying hello? What's next - are you going to push me in or should I just jump myself?"
"Beam, just calm down - " Phana began, but Beam froze as Forth's voice echoed in his mind:
"Relax. I'm going for now? but soon, Dr. Beam Bramee will be ravished under me."
His grip tightened around the phone.
"Don't you dare tell me to relax, Phana! Just get your ass here, to my cabin - now! Or I swear, I'll sue you!"
"Okay, okay! I'm coming. Don't be so impatient." Phana hung up, smacking his own forehead.
Left alone, Beam's mind drifted into the past? to the first time he had met Forth Jaturapoom. A day he often referred to as unfaithful, not for fate's betrayal - but for his own misstep in not realizing then that the older businessman had ties to the underground.
It had all started with an emergency.
A young man named Ming had rushed into the hospital, drenched in blood and clutching his best friend, Wayo, who had been in a serious accident. Though the fault wasn't theirs, the injuries were brutal. Luckily, Phana and Beam had both been on duty.
They'd immediately moved Wayo into the operating theater. After two tense hours, Wayo opened his eyes. He smiled at Phana and whispered something. That smile, that moment - it was enough for Beam's long-time friend to lose his heart. Just like that, Dr. Phana - 28 years old, single, sarcastic, and emotionally invincible - fell for a boy who had just opened his eyes in gratitude.
Whatever Wayo said during that hour-long conversation with Phana, it completely changed him. Later, when Beam checked Wayo again, he was stable. Just needed a week to recover.
But then... Forth arrived.
He must have been out of the country, but the moment he heard about Wayo's accident, he flew back and marched into the hospital like a storm. The tall, muscular, tanned man - his face carved with fierce protectiveness - brushed Wayo's hair with such gentleness that even the nurses stopped to stare.
Phana? Nearly fainted.
"Beam, help me," Phana whispered in panic.
Beam glanced up from his papers. "Help you? What do you want me to do? He's Wayo's guardian, and for God's sake, he's your crush, not your boyfriend. Stop being dramatic."
"I've helped you out of your one-night-stand situations so many times. Did I ever complain?" Phana replied, trying emotional blackmail.
"You're literally complaining right now," Beam shot back without looking.
"You're so shameless."
"Trust me, I can be worse," Beam muttered, flipping a page.
"Beamie, please! You're the only one who can pull this off. One for all and all for one, remember?" Phana resorted to their old motto.
"You seriously want to bring that up - for a guy you've known for two hours? Where's Kit? Isn't he also your friend?"
"He's in OT. Beam, you're the best at convincing people. You could charm a wall if you wanted. Just use that magic of yours."
"Still not doing it."
"Beamieee?"
Beam winced at Phana's puppy eyes. "Ugh. Fine! But this is the first and last time I'm helping you with one of your 'patients.' After this, you're on your own."
"If I get him, I won't need anything else," Phana smiled, finally relaxing. "I don't know how or why? but I love him."
Beam rolled his eyes. "Love? After two hours? You could write a novel on this kind of love."
"Don't mock it. Someday, if you fall in love, you'll understand what separation feels like. I just want to be close to him - forever. No one should come between us."
Beam sighed. "Fine. You still want to intercept him or keep monologuing?"
"No, no. Let's go!"
Without warning, Phana dragged Beam down the hallway toward Wayo's room - and then shoved him right into the corridor, causing him to stumble forward.
Before Beam could recover, someone bumped into him, and he fell - right into Forth Jaturapoom's solid chest.
"Ahhh! I'm so sorry," Beam stammered. "I'm Dr. Beam Bramee. I just? I want to talk to you, Mister?"
Forth looked down at him with an amused smile. "Ohhh? Doctor Forth Jaturapoom, at your service. Do you want to talk like this, or should we change positions first?"
Beam froze.
And that? was how it all began.
