Chapter 1

Amanat Mann was not born with a roar. She arrived into the world in the small town of Patiala, Punjab, on a monsoon night, wrapped in the gentle stillness that would follow her throughout her life. While other children screamed or wailed, Amanat opened her eyes, blinked slowly, and watched the world like it was a puzzle meant to be understood.

Her parents, both professors, had named her "Amanat," meaning "a sacred trust," as if they already knew that their daughter would carry something precious within her - something the world would struggle to recognize at first.
