Jacob cried and cried. The Lighthouse sat quietly next to him as he cried. He knew words couldn't comfort Jacob. And he knew that Jacob had to fully accept his death in order to fully transition to the other side. Jacob thought about every moment he ever spent with his daughter. The day she was born, the first time she ever said "Dada", her first steps. He thought about all the things he wanted to say to her. Things he'd never have the chance to say. He wiped his face and tried to gather himself. Before breaking out in tears once again. "I can't do it!" He said through his tears. The Lighthouse put his hand on Jacob's shoulder. "Miles," he said to the still weeping Jacob "it's ok." Jacob turned to The Lighthouse almost laughing and repeated "It's ok? Are you serious? I'm dead!" The Lighthouse nodded slowly "Yes, you are dead. And that won't change. And I know right now it's overwhelming. But this too is apart of the whole 'life' experience." Tears continued to fall from Jacob's face. He continued to wipe them, and they continued to fall. "No shit Sherlock! I know dying is apart of life." The Lighthouse shook his head "That's not what I mean Miles. What I mean is, the moment you come into this world you're contractually obligated to abide by the laws of the universe. And one of them is Newtons 3rd law of motion. Everything you do here, every frequency you send out, even the smallest thing elicits a response from the universe. Whether you see it or not. Every action has a reaction. Every decision has direction, and destination. The universe has to honor every single decision that is made by everything connected to it. That's what I mean. Every choice made here is instant and permanent." Jacob just listened to The Lighthouse. The tears had stopped. "Let's say you decide to wear a red shirt. And then a few minutes later you change your mind and put on a blue shirt. You can never go back to not having put the red shirt on first. Even though you changed your decision." Jacob looked at The Lighthouse before saying "That was a terrible example." The Lighthouse didn't disagree. He just said "Not the best example, but you get the idea." Jacob understood what The Lighthouse was saying. He made a decision, and the universe had to honor it. Even choices made on impulse. Jacob knew it was too late and would never have a chance to see his daughter again after this. The tears welled up in his eyes. This was it. "I'm ready to see her." Jacob said softly as he looked at The Lighthouse. The Lighthouse nodded, and Jacob closed his eyelids tight.
