Samrat felt someone waking him up, and when he opened his eyes, Mr. Kaushik was there. He told Mr. Kaushik that he had overslept and was feeling a heavy headache, like someone had hit him with a rod. The owner said not to worry; it must be because it was his first day, and he would become habitual to late-night studying. While leaving the room, a thought struck Samrat that he should keep the book he read last night back on the top shelf. But when he came near his table, he did not find any book. He asked the owner about the book, but he had no idea. Samrat was in a lot of pain, so he didn't pay much attention and left the place to get some proper sleep at home.
After waking up, his head was still in pain, and he was constantly thinking about the book, and the story of Raj was engraved in his mind. During office hours, he was unable to concentrate and felt frustrated. In the canteen, Charu asked him why he wasn't feeling well, and if the late-hour study was affecting his sleep. To which Samrat told her all that had happened last night. Charu, without hesitation, said he should leave the library as it was a jinxed place. Samrat straight away cut her off by saying it was all fabricated and the problem occurred because he was just new to late-night work. While talking, Charu saw that he was constantly touching his head, and upon asking, Samrat said that he had been feeling pain in his head since last night. Seeing this, Charu noticed a small swelling on his head and asked him about it, to which he replied it was from last night and she should not worry about that, he would apply some medicine, and left the place and conversation in between.
