Chapter 19: Befriending the Culprit

On one Friday, he followed him to that bar. The bar was an old-fashioned classical place with old melodious songs played by a band. Jaichand took a corner table alone and ordered a whiskey. Samrat took a nearby table and ordered the same drink. Jaichand was drinking and enjoying himself. Samrat could not find any reason to talk to him. Then he went to the singer of the band and requested him to give him a chance to sing a song as it is his birthday and he is all alone in this city. Samrat took up the mic and requested the audience for support. He started singing old 80s and 90s songs in an euphonic voice; everyone praised him along with Jaichand.

After singing, he sat on his table waiting, and in a moment, he was approached by Jaichand wishing him Happy Birthday. He thanked him, and Jaichand invited him to his table for some drinks. After some drinks, Jaichand became tipsy. Samrat found an opportunity and appealed to him that he could help him reach his house. Thus, he took Jaichand to his building and made him comfortable in his house and took his leave. Samrat was very delightful that he got a chance of introduction with him.

After two days, Samrat was roaming outside Jaichand's office. Jaichand saw Samrat and ordered his peon to call the boy, but it was all Samrat's plan. He went inside and acted surprised to see Jaichand. He told him that he went for an interview, but after the interview, he was sure that the company would not offer him a job. Jaichand advised him not to worry as he would arrange a job for him in a few days through his connections. The friendship of both was getting good. Samrat, by thanking him, requested to leave, but Jaichand stopped him and said he would drop him in his car as they lived in the same locality. While driving, Jaichand offered him to have a drink at the same bar as he wanted to listen to songs from Samrat's beautiful voice. While with some thought, Samrat denied that he did not want to be drunk that day, but they could have some beer and he could sing for him. Jaichand agreed.
