It had only been a few days since they had seen each other last. She spent Friday night getting a tattoo and drinking tequila with her bestie. Some much needed girl time. On Saturday she went to portland with some friends for her first NBA game. Sunday. Sunday was reserved for time with him. She was so excited, It was hockey day! She had spent the night down south and had decided to stop and see her second family since she had time to kill before the game would be starting. They asked who she was going to the game with and all she could do was smile. They knew her well, so they ended the conversation with "As long as your happy thats what matters." She was undeniably happy. She made her journey north to get to the stadium and make sure she got good parking. All she could think about was how excited she was to be spending more time with him doing something she absolutely loved.
She got to the stadium an hour early so she sat in her car listening to music and smoking a cigarette. She was so ready to see him and spend a few hours with him. 20 minutes to puck drop. She made her way to the entrance of the stadium searching through the faces. Then, she saw him. His handsome smiling face. He gave her the biggest hug and they entered the stadium and made their way to their seats. The crowd was so lively she could feel her soul igniting. 7 minutes to puck drop. He looked at her and asked "Do you want a beer?" She had never felt more like a girl she responded simply with "I dont know." The typical girl answer, But he was a man that remembered the small details. He simply responded " Ok, i will get you a heineken" Another simple thing he remembered about her.
2 Minutes until puck drop. He came back with 2 budlights and 2 cowbells. They didnt have heineken. She couldn't help but smile. Puck Drop. The cowbells were ringing, the crowd was cheering and her heart felt so full in this moment. In this moment she couldn't picture being anywhere else. The players skated across the ice skating back and forth as the crowd cheered them on. She was there to watch the game but all she could do was watch him. He was enjoying himself so much. It made her so happy to see him enjoying her favorite sport this much.
Intermission 1. The score was still 0-0. He offered another beer. He took both their cans. Hers had maybe a shots worth in it, he drank it as he walked away. It made her laugh a little. She sat and watched the intermission show and just took everything in. He came back with 2 beers and said to her "Before the clock hits 10 minutes we will score." She smiled and waited to see if he was right. The game resumed. The crowd cheered as the puck made its way back and forth on the ice. The clock hit 10 minutes and she smiled and told him he was wrong. The game clock hit 8:32 and we did it! The first team to score. The crowd went crazy. Bells ringing, flags waving, screams in the air. He was celebrating as loud as she was. Her heart was jumping. Not everyone can enjoy hockey but here he was Loving every moment. As the clock counted down he leaned into her. Not to hug her, not to kiss her, but simply to be close to her.
Intermission 2. The score was now 1-0, the tips were winning. He got them Pizza and another beer. They laughed and cheered as the game progressed. The longer they watched the more into the game he got. She was loving every moment of this. Being in the stadium surrounded by people and just able to have fun. The other team scored and now the game had gotten really exciting. Beers in hand, fights on the ice, and the game was tied 1-1. The time clock hit 0:00 and the teams were tied! Time for some OVERTIME! More time that she got to spend next to this man who had taken over her thoughts. The Clock started, the puck dropped and the crowd was going Wild. The TIPS scored! Everyone in the stadium was on their feet. Everyone was cheering as loud as possible, And the game was now over. The Tips won 2-1.
They worked their way through the crowd to exit the stadium. She figured they would part ways once they exited the stadium. It made her a little sad. She was enjoying having someone next to her that she could just simply be herself around. They got to the outside of the stadium and instead of saying bye, he walked her to her car. When she realized that he was doing that she couldn't help but smile. Chivalry was still alive. They got to her car and had a cigarette. Chatting about whatever came to mind as they usually did.
In this moment she was so happy that he joined her. She was so happy to be able to experience a hockey game with him. They shared some innocently passionate kisses. The kind that take your breath away. She loved his lips, his kisses and the way that his hands fit perfectly on her hips. She wanted him in the most intimate way, but tonight wasnt the night. This wasnt the moment for it. They got in her car and had a cigarette, using the seat warmers to warm up, and filling the air with conversation. It had gotten late so she drove him to his truck and parked in the alley. They sat in her car chatting for a few more moments. She was dreading letting him go, but time was fleeting. She was attached to his presence, and to being by his side. They got out of her car to say goodbye and share one last kiss before parting ways for the night. She wasnt sure if it was the adrenaline from the game or if it was because of his presence next to her. She realized her heart was beating as loud as a drumline, her stomach felt like a cocoon full of butterflies and her skin was craving his fingers on her body. One last kiss and off her went. She felt like she could kiss him all night, but for now, she would enjoy the butterflies he left behind.
It had been about a week since they had last seen each other at the hockey game, and she was missing his presence. She had asked him when he wanted to get together this week and they agreed on Friday night. Today. She was filled with excitement as she headed to go see him. The one person who could calm the storm that was raging in her mind. She arrived first and parked a block and a half from the pool hall. It was beautiful out. Christmas lights in the shape of snowflakes lined the streets. As she approached the pool hall she looked out to the road to admire the city and breathe in her surroundings, and there he was. His truck drove past and he would be joining her side soon. She lit a cigarette as she waited, and there he was. He walked up the sidewalk with a man that she had assumed was his friend. As they approached her the friend said "This must be her" and he simply responded "Thats her". It made the butterlies in her stomach dance. Before she drove here to meet up with him she had picked up a pack of smokes for both of them. She handed him his and the 3 of them stood outside and filled the air with a mix of camels and marlboros. She wanted to wrap her arms around him and give him the biggest kiss, but wasnt sure if she should in front of the friend.
The bartender came out and checked their ages and the friend got Beligerent. She wasn't sure how much alcohol he had consumed, but it was clear that he had vomit on his shirt already. They went into the bar, the friend entering first. She watched the friend go from pool table to pool table, quickly realizing that this wasnt a friend at all. She learned that he was simply just a drunk stranger that had tagged along for the night. She felt a bit of excitement knowing that the night would go back to being just the 2 of them. They each got a beer and a jello shot to start the night and picked a pool table to set up at. She watched him as he made each ball in. He was getting better. As she was watching him make every shot she couldnt help but fantasize what it would be like if it were just the 2 of them here. She was thinking about how it would feel to have his hands all over her. To have his lips kiss all over her body even the parts she hated the most. She could picture him all over and deep inside of her.
The night went on and he was kicking her ass. Win after win. They shared moments of glances with each other and she couldnt help but wonder if he was thinking the same thing that she was. She wanted him in whatever way she could have. They went out for a smoke after he had won yet another game. As they got outside she got so excited. It had begun to rain. They had often chatted about going on a walk in the rain and dancing in the rain. She hoped he would walk her to her car at the end of the night, because then they would get that moment. They finished their smokes and went back in to play. She went and used the restroom and when she got back he had ordered them a shot. A peanut butter whiskey shot. The shot that she had so randomly gotten the first night that they had played pool together. What a small and Simple act that had meant so much to her. They played a few more rounds and she watched him dance around with his pool stick. She couldnt help but smile and wonder where this man had been her whole life. Men dont normally show this version of themselves unless they are truly comfortable with someone. Seeing him like this made her want to kiss him and never let go. They finished pool and he won the night by a landslide.
She didnt mind losing to him because now they were headed out into the rain. She couldnt help but hope he would walk her to her car. The rain was coming down and he grabbed her hand and they headed into the direction of her car. She felt like a teenager around him. They walked a block and a half to her car and right before they got there they noticed something. There was an alleyway lined with christmas lights. It was so beautiful. Her heart lit up and she was pretty sure he saw it happen. She was soaked from head to toe. As the rain fell on top of them he grabbed her and pulled her close. Their lips touched. This simple moment kissing under the raindrops. Kissing under the sparkling christmas lights. This moment felt so magical she didnt want it to end. She didn't understand how a moment so simple could feel so full of passion and magic. They danced and kissed their way up and down the alley. Soaking wet from head to toe they got in her car to warm up and have a quick smoke before she drove him back to his truck. She felt like they could sit in her car for hours just chatting and smoking, but she didn't want to keep him for too long in case he worked in the morning. She prepared to take him back to his truck on 2 different occasions but she just wasnt ready yet. Instead they exchanged words and glances that spoke things they couldnt say out loud.
The time had come and she drove him to his truck, he looked so tired. She took in every moment not wanting to leave his side. She pulled into the alley by his truck and it seemed like he wasnt ready to leave yet either. She put her car in park and they chatted a bit more and then it was time for them to say goodnight. She got out of her car to give him a kiss goodnight. It was still raining. He kissed her without hesitation. Up against the brickwall. it was the type of kiss that made her wish that he was ripping her clothes off. She wanted him. She was craving all of him. As she was thinking about all the things she wanted him to do to her he said "If you had a large SUV.." She laughed before he could even finish his sentence. In that moment she knew he was thinking the exact same thing that she was.
They shared a few more kisses and glances of wanting and said goodnight. She watched him walk to his truck wishing the night could go on. As she drove home she reminisced on all the moments of the night. Smiling to herself. Taking it all in. Remembering every feeling that he had given her. It hadnt even been 10 minutes and she felt ridiculous because she had missed him already. She looked in her rearview mirror and there it was. His truck passing her. She couldnt help but smile and simply think "I'll see you soon, Babes."
