It had been some time since they shared a kiss outside the PBG and she was ready to see him again. He had been on her mind and she wasnt sure how to get him out of it. Other than seeing him again. She decided to go out to the coffee shop since it was one of the few places that she knew she could gain clarity at. She had invited him to come join her but was unsure she was gna see him today. That was ok, maybe it was for the best. She had decided once the coffee shop closed at 7 she would go for a walk at the nearby park. She knew that they had still had their christmas lights up. It would be a perfect way to end her night. A walk through a christmas lit park.
When she got to the coffee shop she was excited. There was a spot nearby the fireplace. She put her stuff down and ordered herself the biggest hot chocolate they had. Peppermint flavored. She put her headphones in and listened to music while she wrote her heart out. Trying to find any kind of Clarity she could. He messaged her that he probably wouldn't make it on time to the coffee shop, But he would meet her at the park.
She got even more excited knowing that she would get to see him tonight. They would go for a chirstmas light walk through the park. How romantic, she thought. Maybe he would kiss her again. She smiled to herself and finished writing.
She finished her hot chocolate and noticed the time. The coffee shop would be closing in a few short minutes. She put her book and pen in her bag, she couldnt imagine losing Luna. The book that held all. She grabbed her empty mug and her empty plate from the cookie she ate and walked them over to the dirty dish bin. As she was walking past the coffee counter she looked up. There he was. Ordering himself a hot drink. Their smiles matched as their eyes met. They walked outside together. They didnt say much and as they approached their vehicles he kissed her and said "I'll see you at the park."
She drove to the park and couldnt stop smiling. Her cheeks were hurting from how much she was smiling. What did this man do to her. As she approached the park she felt dissapointment roll over her. She noticed the city had unplugged all the lights and took down the Christmas tree. Well she was still determined to walk through the park especially now that he was joining her. She would spend as much time with him as the night would allow. As he pulled up and got out of his truck she started explaining to him how sad she was the lights were gone. He went over to one of the light set ups to see if he could fix them and turn them on. She couldnt help but smile. What a sweet thing to do. She noticed the gazeebo had Christmas lights still and worked their way over there.
She loved being under the lights. She loved it even more since he was with her. The lights brought her back to her childhood and how happy they made her. She looked around near the Gazeebo and noticed a plug that was no longer in its place. She pointed it out to him and without hesitation he plugged it in. She laughed. "What if we get arrested" As the lights lit up so did her eyes. She was pretty sure he noticed. He looked around to see if there was any more plugs that needed to be inserted back where they belong. He couldnt find any, so after a brief moment under the lights they continued their way through the park. They laughed and chatted as they made their way back to their cars.
The air was cold so she wasn't sure if this was going to be how their night would end. But to her delight, it wasn't. They stood next to her car chatting about everything that came to mind. Anything that would make this time last longer. Then it happened. He pulled her close, placed one hand on the back of her neck and one on her hip. She knew this was going to be a moment to remember. He locked eyes with her and pulled her in for a kiss. The kisses started out so soft and so sweet. After each kiss he would catch her gaze and simply smile the sweetest smile. They spent the rest of the night kissing and hugging and laughing as if they were the only 2 people in the world. As the night went on cars drove by and families made their way home. She wasn't ready to leave yet, but knew it was probably time. They said their last goodbyes and they each drove their seperate ways into the cold crisp night. All she could think was "When will be the next time I get to see him"
A few days had gone by and they had discussed going bowling. It had been a long day and she just wanted to have some fun with him and laugh. She knew if they went bowling they would for sure laugh. She was awful at bowling but was willing to lose to him. Who knows maybe he wouldn't be very good either. The fog was rolling in and they met at the Bowling alley. They entered the Alley and learned that it was league night, and that they could play for 30 minutes. So they did. Kind of. They played a round and both sucked. He was definetley better than she was. They laughed as each ball landed in the gutter.Time had passed and it was time for them to leave. They went out by their cars and smoked a cigarette surrounded by fog while they decided what to do next.
They headed out into the fog and drove to their favorite pool hall, The PBG. She got there first and then his truck emerged from the fog. He out of his truck laughing that he missed his turn. They walked hand in hand into the bar, and unfortunately found out that it was league night. She was starting to think maybe they should just each go their own seperate ways. They walked out to the parking lot and he suggested they drive down the street to try another bar. It seemed like he wasnt ready for this night to end either.
They arrived to yet another bar that was full and doing league night. She was ready to throw in the towel and head home, when he mentioned a place he knew of that wasnt too far. They wandered back into the fog arriving at their 4th destination of the night. She had decided this would be the final attempt. They pulled into the parking lot of the Eat, Drink, Play. As usual he parked next to her and they walked over to the bar. He made her laugh. He tried to open a locked door and she joked about the alarm going off. He simply said "ill blame it on being clumsy" as if that would be a good reason to the police. They got into the building where they were headed and to her suprise it was pretty much empty. He ordered them drinks and also ordered some Fries. The waitress verified 2x that he wanted regular fries. They played a round or 2 of pool and then the waitress brought him his Garlic fries that he absolutely ordered. They had a good laugh that she brought the wrong fries.
They played pool for what seemed like hours. Sharing glances of wanting and kisses of passion. The establishment closed and they stood behind her car having a cigarette. Neither of them ready for the night to end. Once again chatting about anything that would keep the night going. They began kissing and smiling between each kiss. She heard someone approach , but she didnt care. she just wanted his kisses. She wanted his hands on her body. She wanted him. She knew that wasnt an option right now, so she enjoyed every kiss. A couple approached and said "Have a good night, Kids." They both laughed at the idea that they were kids. And without hesitation continued kissing. They knew the night was coming to an end and these were the last kisses of the night. He walked her to her drivers door and gave her one last kiss and hug goodnight. She drove home into the fog, missing his kisses already.
She was unequivocally attached to him. She was attached to the way he looked at her, to the way that he made her feel at peace no matter how her day had gone. She was attached to the way he put his hand on the back of her neck right before his lips met hers. She was attached to the way that she got butterflies with just the thought of seeing him. She was attached to the Laughter that always filled the air when they were together, and to the way that his fingertips glided across her skin while they kissed.
In this moment she was attached to the lack of committment and obligation that came with him. Neither of them wanted any type of commitment. It was perfect. She knew that her heart was not in a place for that anyways. She loved the level of peace, calmness, happiness and Romance that came when she was around him. She loved that they were able to see each other in the free times of their weeks, and enjoy a moment of peace before turning back to whatever the real world was holding for them. And she couldn't help but wonder how long these moments of peace would last.
She had been having a difficult week. She was fighting with her kids dad and with her own dad. Mother nature was kicking her ass and all she wanted was to be in his arms. She just wanted to see him and to kiss him and feel his peace. She messaged him and he told her where to meet him. A brewery by the water front. She didnt care where she just needed to be in his presence. She was almost to the brewery when she got a message from him for her to meet him somewhere else. She was only few minutes away. She turned around and drove up the hill. She couldnt help but think "WOW what a sunset" this was such a beautiful spot. It was breath taking. The silhouette of the mountains, the way the sky was on fire. Reds, oranges, purples and pinks. it was magical. He arrived shortly after she did and they enjoyed staring at the sky for awhile. Sharing a few sweet kisses. She noticed he was cold so they headed to the Brewery.
They sat across from each other and she found the game Battleships. He had never played before. They laughed as every "miss" happened and they spoke to each other with their eyes. She couldnt wait to feel her lips against his. It was all she could think about. They sipped on a spicy Margarita and she had fries while he ate his wings. Typical Bar food.
After they played a few rounds of battleship they headed out into the below freezing temperatures. They stood at their vehicles and had a smoke. They discussed the stars and the planets that were in the clear sky above them. They noticed a fisherman statue near by and went and examined it. Nothing too fascinating. She had other things in mind. They walked back to their cars and instantly couldnt keep their lips off of each other. They kissed as the night got darker. People passing by, she didnt care. She just wanted his kisses. His bites. As his lips touched her skin all she could think about was how bad she wanted him. How deeply she craved to have all of him. She wanted him in the most passionate ways, and she felt he would love her body in ways she could never imagine.
She could feel him shivering and she could see his breath. She knew this wasnt the moment for them to have each other. So she gave him one last hug and some final kisses of the night. He walked her to the drivers side and even opened the door for her. Something so simple yet so sweet. She drove off into the cold January night with aching in her loins and a smile on her face. "Until Next time Darling"
