Later that night, the ladies slipped outside to the lounge area, their faces flushed from dancing and laughter. The night felt perfect. Too perfect.
"Okay," Miranda said with a sly grin, "this night isn't over yet. One more stop before we call it."
They piled into a rideshare, still buzzing with adrenaline. Tiffany sang loudly from the back seat while Carmen stared out the window, lost in thought. Samira kept checking her phone, ignoring the others' teasing.
Their next stop was Pedro's Tacos and Tequila Bar. The table quickly filled with colorful drinks and plates of tacos. For a while, it felt like they had escaped the world entirely. They were just five friends, soaking in the moment.
Then, everything changed.
As Samira reached for her drink, her phone buzzed again. This time, it wasn't just another text. It was a picture - a photo of her ex at the very same club they had just left.
Her face froze. "Y'all… he's there. He's at The Meltdown right now."
The group fell silent. Miranda leaned in, her voice calm but firm. "We have two choices: leave it alone and end the night here, or go back and show him exactly what he lost."
Tiffany grinned wickedly. "You already know my vote."
Before Samira could respond, Carmen spoke softly but with conviction. "Sometimes, closure comes from being seen - not from saying a word."
Samira's eyes widened. Carmen rarely gave advice, but when she did, it always cut deep.
