The venue glowed like a neon promise against the Cincinnati skyline. The sign outside read:
The Meltdown: Ultimate Ladies Night.
Inside, the bass thumped through the walls, shaking the floor beneath their heels and setting the tone for the evening.
The five women strutted in like queens. Miranda led the way, confident and composed. Tiffany twirled dramatically, drawing attention from everyone around her. Jade walked with nervous excitement, while Samira clung to her phone like a lifeline. Carmen stayed close to the back, scanning the room with quiet curiosity.
Laughter echoed as they made their way to the VIP section Miranda had managed to secure.
"Drinks first, drama later," Tiffany declared, waving down a server for a round of frozen margaritas - the kind decorated with vibrant flowers and sugar-rimmed glasses, just like the ones they had admired earlier at Pedro's Tacos and Tequila Bar.
As they sipped their drinks, the lights dimmed and the music intensified. The show began. The performers burst onto the stage, each one more captivating than the last. Hats were tipped, shirts were ripped, and the crowd roared with excitement.
Jade, usually the shyest of the group, surprised everyone by jumping to her feet when one of the dancers tossed her a rope. With a burst of confidence, she spun it overhead and started dancing, laughter spilling from her lips. Even Carmen cracked a rare smile.
