I have always remembered living in a house near the old Mayweed Dead Street with my mother. We always like to walk down the old-old 1800s century roadway to the food pantry or just meet my grandmother on weekends, usually when it is raining or gets snowy outside, we avoid the house. I still wonder why we always avoid the house whenever it rains or snows. I tried to ask my mother about it, but she always tells me to wait for the right time for me to tell you why we avoid the house on rainy days and snowy nights. Now here I am at my grandmother's house just reading my book about the hunch back of north of dame, it is an enjoyable book to read if you are bored of watching Tv all day.
"Susie!" my grandmother called me down for dinner." Darling we are going to Chruch tomorrow morning, so get your Sunday clothes out by 9 pm."
"all right Grandma, I will get my Sunday clothes by 9pm sharp tonight." Susie replied as she sat down with her book and went over her clothes. seeing what to wear for Chruch tomorrow.
Susie walked through the narrow-hellish hallway filled with cobwebs and sluggish looking windows that came into view. "I wonder when we are going to clean this house-" before she could finish her statement a shadowy figure ran across the middle of the hallway.
"The heck was that!" Susie yelled and almost tumbled over her own feet. "Grandma? Was that you?" No response from Grandma. "Grandma?" Susie called out again and this time a raspy whispered answered. "Susie...it is me, your father. Come here my darling.
Susie froze in place and looked terror-stricken to her core. "w-who a-are y-you?"
she stuttered out to the raspy voice. The gravelly voice answered again but this time it said something gravelly to scare the soul out of her. "Oh, look for me on the house of Mayweed dead street...Babygirl."
"What?" Susie looked confused when the raspy Voice said that. "What do you mean? There is no house on Mayweed dead street It is just an abandoned street with no houses or lights, just a few trees and what-not is there."
The raspy voice spoke again." Oh, Susie sweet-little Susie you do not know do you?"
"Know about what...?" she asked curiously, feeling a little bit peculiar about what the mysterious voice knows. The raspy voice responds again. "Well, tomorrow you'll-" Grandma called out again, "Susie Come Eat before your dinner gets cold!"
Susie replied, "Coming Grandma! Just a minute Please Uh I was just figuring out what shoes to wear for tomorrow." Grandma replied. "Alrighty then, it will be on the stove when you come down."
