**Chapter 2: The Prank Gets a Little Out of Hand**
The office buzzed with a mix of excitement and apprehension as Max's team gathered again the next morning. After their initial brainstorming session, plans had become more elaborate - and slightly more ridiculous.
Sally was already suspicious. "Max, I hope you're not planning to flood the office with fake rats again."
Max grinned sheepishly. "No rats. I promise. This time, it's all about the subtle art of mischief."
Tom pushed his glasses up his nose, holding a small remote control device. "I've been working on my ceiling leak gadget. It's almost ready. Just need to test it."
Jenny, clutching her notepad, was practically bouncing. "Can I press the button? Please?"
"Hold on, Jenny," Sally said, crossing her arms. "We don't want to turn the office into a swimming pool. Remember what happened last time?"
Max waved her off. "Relax. This is going to be epic. The key to a good prank is timing and surprise."
Meanwhile, Tom was fiddling with his device, which looked like a tiny robot with blinking lights and a mini water tank. "This will look like a real leak - until Mr. Grumble walks in and freaks out."
Just then, Jenny's phone buzzed with a notification. She grinned. "Oh! My friend sent me a meme. 'When your boss is more suspicious than Sherlock Holmes.'"
Sally rolled her eyes. "Perfect. That's exactly what we need."
Suddenly, Tom's device beeped ominously. "Uh-oh."
Everyone stared as a small stream of water started dribbling from the ceiling fixture. It was supposed to be a controlled leak, but instead, the device was malfunctioning. Water splattered everywhere, soaking Sally's meticulously organized files and causing a small flood on the conference table.
Sally grabbed a paper towel, glaring. "Great. Now we're waterlogged and not even close to pranking Mr. Grumble."
Max chuckled nervously. "Uh, maybe I underestimated the water pressure. It's... a feature, not a bug."
Just then, the office door swung open, and Mr. Grumble appeared, umbrella in hand, looking even more grumpy than usual. "What's going on here? Is this some new water feature I wasn't told about?"
Tom panicked, frantically pressing buttons on his remote. "No, sir! Just a little... uh, spontaneous leak."
Mr. Grumble frowned, eyeing the mess. "Spontaneous? Looks like a hurricane hit my office."
Jenny, trying to hide her giggles, whispered to Sally, "This is going so wrong."
Sally sighed. "Max, maybe your 'epic' prank idea needs a little more planning."
Max wiped water from his face, trying to look innocent. "Hey, I think we're onto something. Maybe next time, we do a dry prank."
Mr. Grumble set his umbrella down, looking less furious and more bewildered. "Next time, I want no water. Or I'll personally turn your office into a swimming pool."
As the team scrambled to clean up the mess, Jenny muttered, "Well, at least we got a good story out of it."
Sally shook her head with a smile. "Next time, maybe just a simple whoopee cushion."
And somewhere in the chaos, Tom whispered, "I think I can fix it. Maybe."
The prank was a disaster, but for Max's team, it was just another hilarious step toward their legendary office stunt - and a reminder that sometimes, the best plans are the ones that go hilariously wrong.
