**Chapter 3: When Pranks Backfire… Spectacularly**
The morning after the flood, the office was a scene of chaos - mops, buckets, and a lingering smell of wet drywall. Max, Sally, Tom, and Jenny sat at their now slightly soggy desks, trying to pretend everything was normal.
Sally sighed, staring at the water stains on her paperwork. "Well, that was a disaster. Who knew water and electronics don't mix well?"
Tom, holding a soldering iron, looked sheepish. "I think I can fix the ceiling leak gadget… but I might need a new remote."
Jenny, still giggling, peeked at her phone. "Guys, check this out. Someone posted a video of our 'famous' leak on social media. It's already got 10,000 views."
Max's eyes widened. "No way! That's… actually kind of awesome. We're going viral."
Sally shook her head. "Or we're getting fired. Either way, it's going to be legendary."
Just then, the office door swung open. It was Mr. Grumble again, but this time he was holding a thick folder and a suspicious expression.
"Team," he said, voice low but furious, "I've received some complaints about… a water disaster, a viral video, and a very soggy office. Care to explain?"
Max gulped. "Uh, well, sir, it was all part of a - "
Mr. Grumble raised a hand. "Save it. I've called in someone to assess the damage. And you all have extra work today - because apparently, we're now a social media sensation."
Sally rolled her eyes. "Wonderful. So, instead of fixing the office, we're now famous for flooding it."
Mr. Grumble leaned in, sharp-eyed. "And I want to know who's responsible."
Jenny nervously pointed at Max. "It was… uh, all part of the plan."
Mr. Grumble stared at her. "The plan to flood the office?"
Jenny nodded enthusiastically. "It was supposed to be a harmless prank, sir."
Mr. Grumble sighed deeply. "Harmless or not, I want this sorted. And I want you all to come up with a plan to clean up your reputation."
Sally whispered to Max, "Great, now we're in trouble with the boss."
Max muttered, "Maybe I should have just stuck with the googly eyes."
Meanwhile, Tom was already tinkering with his device, trying to repair it before the next big stunt. Jenny was scribbling notes, looking more determined than ever.
As the team scrambled to find a way out of their latest mess, the office buzzed with chatter about their viral video. Some colleagues found it hilarious; others couldn't believe the chaos.
And somewhere in the back of the office, a mysterious email blinked on the screen: **"Congratulations! Your office has been selected for the company's new 'Team of the Month' feature… with a surprise bonus."**
Max's eyes lit up. "A bonus? Maybe this disaster isn't so bad after all."
Sally gave him a skeptical look. "Or maybe it's just the universe's way of saying, 'Hold on tight, it's about to get even crazier.'"
And as the team prepared for whatever was coming next, one thing was clear: their prank war was far from over - and the chaos was only just beginning.
