'I THINK MY DAD likes you, Mike. I can't think why, but he does.'
'Yes, it seems so. I believe he will be a good father-in-law to someone one day.'
Mike had a little laugh at Pat's reaction. He continued before he got a clump.
'Maybe he can even get me a Thai passport?'
Her temper rose until he said, 'I'm not romantic, but how about it?'
She hugged the lanky Welshman, hoping he meant what she thought.
The Headrock Bar was open again. With Pat behind the bar, people flooded in. The many Aussie partners seemed happy to be given a few free beers when they visited in exchange for their worthless share paperwork. Mike and Pat were not bothered by the tour business. It was safer behind the bar. Mike knew all about being behind bars.
There were now some odd-looking plants growing at the back of The Headrock.
They gave Black a promotion for his part in disposing of one of Great Britain's most dangerous traitors. His wife now has less time to moan at him about the hours he works. He never sees her; he remains in his office and is rarely home. When not in the office, he spends his time at cricket grounds, shining a ball on his white trousers, which are cleaned and ironed at the Embassy - all arranged by his secretary.
Skip was presented with The Order of the White Elephant. The award was presented by His Majesty King of the Kingdom of Thailand. He was very proud to have been given one of the highest awards in Thailand. He is now in charge of the illegal drugs department. He is head of a special secret team trusted to destroy all "yaa baa" factories in the country. Not a five-minute job. The drug is now by far the most popular and common illegal substance in the country. If nothing else, Philip had been good at sales.
Skip is still waiting to score his maiden league century.
Dam restored their office after Nick left it. Except for the new colour scheme, it looks just as it did. Damʼs side of the business, the building and construction branch, is thriving. His only downside was that Emma had returned to France to become a vet. Gi has also returned to her home country. It would not be long for Dam to find a girl you "could marry".
Charlie is still dreaming of stardom as a singer. He is getting no nearer. Lek still follows him from Sing a Song bar to karaoke. She now wears a hearing aid - but only in the evenings.
Myrtle is continuing as a Buddhist nun. She is studying the scriptures in the Thai language and loving every minute.
Barny has moved his bar around the corner and is doing well. He has split from his old "wife", whose sister, Nong, has married her Canadian boyfriend and moved to Canada. Barny now has another new wife.
Barny keeps busy. He has now formed the Hua Hin Golf Society, and all the members naturally use his bar.
Hua Hin has started an international Cricket Sixes tournament. Teams from around the world take part.
Hua Hin Hopalongs, the local team, won the first event. They have also entered a team in the 11-a-side league based in Bangkok.
Camilla is expecting her first baby, who will be her only child. A daughter is due soon. She will name her Philippa.
She has an ex-tourist police lady working closely with her.
Camilla has discovered a new formula for "yaa baa" that is much cheaper and just as addictive.
Skylab asked, 'Kev, will you ever marry me?'
'Of course, I will, but not today; I have to see a potential customer who wants us to do a job for him. It may be worth a few quid to us.'
Skylab was planning another trip to see the family in Bangkok.
